I am pleased to announce the first (hopefully annual) “Banter Battle” fantasy baseball league over at Yahoo! Sports.
It’ll be a 6×6 (the usual 10 categories, plus holds and OPS) non-keeper roto league, with a live draft to be held on Monday, March 23rd at 9:30 pm Eastern time. (You can pre-rank your selections if you can’t be there live).
In order to join the league, go to the game front page, click the “Sign Up Now” or “Get Another Team” button and follow the links to “Join a Custom League”. When prompted, enter the League ID# and password below.

Its free to play, and we won’t be playing for any $. However, the winner will get his/her (user)name placed on the Banter sidebar for all to admire.
The only requirement we insist on is that you not abandon your team in the middle of the season. So, serious replies only please.

Depending on the depths of the economic downturn, I may end up changing my team name to "Homer Bailey and the Bailouts" :-P

I would have joined, but I had prior commitments to two other leagues before I knew about this one. Perhaps next year!
I went back to my standard for last season of "The Joba Rules," but I am sure that will change. Of course, I have no idea who most of the people signed up are right now, so we will definitely need a list when all is set and done with teams and their Banter names!
[8] Well, for some of us, its pretty clear who we are. But you're right - at first I thought "JL" was "JL25and3" - but the e-mail address would suggest otherwise.

I would suggest each participant write an "intro" message on the league home page .... who we are .... our Banter moniker (if not obvious), etc.
I know not how to play, not one bit :(

I think the max is 20 teams ... which would raise the specter of someone possibly having to draft Jose Molina! :-)

Alas, yes, looks full ... and would be fun. I'm in a classic 4x4 league elsewhere, and have been a 'purist' limiting myself to the one team (I have friends who play 8-10 leagues). I've always felt you need to live and die by your boys, not have everyone in the AL on SOME team or other.
Diane, I assume this is an AL league? Or using the whole ML universe?
