The US could hide their 2006 showing because of a tough draw. But outside of a mega-slop fest draw vs Italy, they played poorly there, too.

This year, they had the draw they needed, and there's no hiding whatever the result ends up. 2 goals in 45 minutes? At this point, I'd be surprised at 2 goals in the entire World Cup.

For a country with some many athletes (and so many supposedly playing at the youth level), it's a shame they can't find enough players to field a better team. I really worry about the refs in international competition. For some, it often feels like this is their chance to stick it to the big bad U.S.

Now, here's something I always wondered. When there's a significant stoppage in stoppage time, how do they let the players know how much time is left?

The tie puts the US in good shape...they probably advance with a win over Algeria (which if they dont get, they dont belong anyway). Still, not getting the win just cost them the top seed, which is massive.

FIFA is like boxing...too many results leave you wondering about the decision makers. It really is a disgrace for a sport that is the world's most popular.

Well that was pretty annoying but also pretty awesome.

The worst part is the arrogant FIFA wont even acknowledge the incompetence/bias of their refs.

Missed the game, but a tie, with Slovenia? And having to rally for the tie? What's next, the Yankees dropping 2 of three to a scuffling Phillies team?
