Double Drip

The Cubbies brought along their perpetual gloom when they arrived in the Bronx. The Yanks are rained out tonight and the two teams will have separate tilts tomorrow at 1 and 7 pm.

Rumor has it that the Cubs have all sorts of talent close to the Majors and might be good soon. But not by tomorrow, so let’s see a sweep please.

Good news is this will give Jeter an extra day of rest.

Bad news: The already gimpy infield will have to play 2 games in one day.

Anyone have a sense of why Murphy was brought up instead of Romine?

[2] They might just think he's better. But it's also possible that they think Romine needs the ABs, which he'll get in the minors, while Murphy could use some exposure to MLB intelligence with McCann & Co.
Murphy can also play 3B, so that probably didn't hurt.

60 day DL for Frankie. Guy can't seem to catch a break.

Thanks for that RIYank. Those comments from Little Stein are crazy - happy with the infield?! Times sure have changed.

Murphy was hitting the ball better than Romine although neither has a good average. This is a long term deal with Cervelli on the sixty. They seem to think Murphy is the better long term prospect. He also has played other positions.

Damn, four east coast games canceled. And on "Everybody dress up like Mo" day.
