Tampa Bay comes into town for three with the Yanks, then KC and then they hit the road or something. Oy, who wouldda thought this team was so deep? Cashman obviously, but even he had to likely cross his fingers…

Two out of three and it’s first place
rb-yay!
Ah, opener night.
2 out of 3 ain't bad.
Grrrrrrrr.
Holy shite! Upper tank!
Whoops. I sit corrected. Rats.
Walking the dog worked again.
Blech
Good outing for the big fella, now get some runs
Hot damn, Big Fella! 6 strong!
Rats, doubt he comes out for the seventh.
Don't fuck this up, Kahlne!
Nice. Now score some runs.
Tommah!
Tight game. What's with those horrible caps? Some armed forces thing?
Yup. They should turn the balls into grenades and bases into tanks and behavior missiles. Ugh.
Military appreciation weekend.
Fucking Bollocks! Fuck!
Fuck
Garbage. With 2 outs no less.
Green has been an unmitigated disaster since game 1.
Good to see Chad Green back in form.
15+ ERA? My grandmother never carried a 15 ERA!
Shouldn't complain but this must be 4th game where a great start is fucked by bullpen and offense goes cold. Grrr....Ya just can't predict....
Rain! Call the game and erase the top of the eighth.
Atta boy, Gary!
Get 'r done!
What a win!
(24). Best comment ever.
Wow. I can't believe they won. I guess I'm a fair weather fan. Gave up on this one.
[18} Wow, good to see baseball FINALLY honoring the military, what took so long!
CC is such a badasa, love that he was talking shite to the Rays again.
[32] lol Fortunately, the Yankees bullied other teams into ad eternuml patriotic seventh inning interludes.
Went to bed once the rain delay came. Yankees were down 3-1, figured it was a loss.
What? 4-3 walk off win?
Given their miserable start, their injuries, their AAA subs, who'd a thunk that the Bombers would gave the best record in the MLB in mid May? Not me.
[35] Cashman for GM of the year? I’d say it’s their analytics department, but someone had to put it together and go with their recommendations.
Time to shine, Hicks.
I'll take that.
should have had more
Greg Bird has been Wally Pipped.
Not enough to overturn.
Fortunate. Hope Tanaka isn't hurt.
Uh oh, my "take the dog for a walk" strategy backfired. But the dog really did need to go out.
Sonofabitch!
Thanks, Tommy. Yeesh
Death, taxes, and a great Tanaka start wasted.
So Tanaka's obligatory HR is given up by K.
Time for a walk off
damn, justmissed
free baseball
aw fuck
Back in second
At least Tanaka's x-ray came back negative.
How about some runs.
Ha!
Well there’s one
Crap
I think it's clear that the "opener" strategy only works if you start the game with a good reliever.
Yeeouch
Jesus. Send Green back to the minors before he kills someone.
GGBG!
Well, this game went to shit in a hurry. Good luck guys. I gotta hit the hay.
Got better!
Damn, Kay breaking out the old stuff.
Trips!!!
Just back from dinner, looks like I missed some baseball
Some things are predictable. Fucking Bollocks!
Phew!
Sweet bunt, dude.
A free run!
Ah, taking the dog for a walk worked again.
Not enough to overturn the call.
Double digits! Thank you Thairo.
Most acceptable. Shitty inning for Clint.
Bakers dozen
Gleyber with the glove
Back in first! Three inning save for Chance
I think that going to bed while the game is still in doubt, is the new juju.
[71] Of course, taking the dog out is important, too. We need the dog for the rally and my sleep to seal the win.
Keep it up, guys. Weez in foist pwace.
Let’s moider dese boids
Gleyber. 7th against the Os this year.
J.A. Crapp
Rainy Season (梅雨) looks like it's hitting early this year in the Big Mikan. Worse than usual morning train commutes, and now the Yanquis are losing to Los Orioles again?? Thought they broke that habit?
[81] Hah!
Boston won, at least Tampa isn’t playing today.
When did Hacksaw Jim Duggan start pitching?
Save the bullpen for a winnable game tomorrow.
Or not
Maybe the doctor could find some strain that benches Happ for 6 months. That would be ideal.
[88] Need Severino back ASAP. Wonder if they trade for someone as well?
Painful strike.
A little bit off tonight, Flaherty? Oi!
Os announcers, Cy Cashner has problems third time through the order.
How are they going to fuck this up?
2 is better than none.
Well two runs is ok. Don’t need six all at once. Just get into the soft underbelly of the boids bullpen.
dios mios, Voit
Soft, soft underbelly
Very Very ready for a Hicksy Homer here to tie it
This. DJ kid is alright.
Well, it wasn't pretty ...
Whoa! Mets are really Mets-ing again this year, you all read about Cespedes? https://nypost.com/2019/05/20/yoenis-cespedes-bizarre-mishap-could-create-mets-money-battle/
Ugh, it's Holder
Damn fine play.
[101] and Cano Canoed over the weekend. Wilson’s need to sell. I bet Citifield is built over an old Indian burial ground.
Fancy glove, fancy feet.
I like it! Score em both!
Holy lollipop.
Holy shite!
I don’t know how he hit that. Amazing
Missed the comeback! The Kraken Returns!
Ten pm. Had to take the dog out for the last time, 7-6 Orioles.
Yet again walking the dog worked.
Oh FFS.
Weak sauce.
Two down
Ballgame! Hot damn, double digits and a comeback.
Cheers y'all. Fun win.
My son doesn't have much patience for baseball. He does like to come in and find out the score and if the Yankees are playing. (Pretty much the only sport I watch now) When he saw the O's were up by 5, he said "It's pretty much over now, right?" I didn't think so, and since I had recorded the game on my DVR, it didn't take long to enjoy a great comeback. Sure it is only the O's and not the Astros with Verlander on the mound, but this team is fun to watch. Glad to see Sanchez and Gleyber continue to make the O's their personal playthings.
Let's get em again tonight!
Kraken unleashed!
Fear the Gleyber.
I wish we could play the stoopid Orioles every night.
Austin Romine suuuuuucks.
What is it whith Orioles and pop ups???
Strong start for Little Sunday.
With, that is.
He's Ze German to me ...
Wow, Gary and Gleyber are the first pair of Yankees to each have 8 home runs in a season against the Orioles franchise since a couple of guys named Ruth and Gehrig, when it was the Browns.
Go go Gio!
Clint joins the party
SYNDROME!!!
Pity German has an innings limit this year.
Burn a mound visit here.
Phew,
Yeah, that vould have gone wrong
Poor B'more. Good town, great stadium, great tradition..they deserve a better team.
Good town? I polite disagree. Good on the kid tonight. Too many pitches, though.
Too many fat strikes. Too much The Wire ...
The kids are Alright!
Clint redux! Next up, double digits.
SYNDROME x2!!!
100th home run against the Orioles. Quickest ever at 48 games.
Score Truck is coming, methinks!
Well that sucked
Just get through the inning, Sunday. In line for win nine. Now would also be a good time for a mound visit.
Crap pitch
The ol' run the dog around in the backyard for 10 minutes and miss 3 quick runs trick.
Yanks got this. I'm heading over to Game 4 of the ECF Bucks - Raptors.
Kraken! The Score Truck!
There it is
Fuck bball. Nothing personal.
Score fucking truck.
I hate basketball so damn much. It's stupid, because it's damn gorgeous, but I do ...
What is a David Hale?
Ah, afternoon game Thursday, 12:30
Gio is such a pleasure to watch at third.
Pretty d. 5-4-3.
Can we play Baltimore every game, puhleeeeeeze.
BTW, if you are missing RAB, there's a pretty good site for yucks and snarky commentary,"It is high, It is far, It is...caught."
IMHO, Pinstripe Alley is now the best for serious news and recaps, but "It is high, It is far, It is...caught" is lots of fun.
I think the URL is "johnsterling.blogspot" something, but you can find it from the name.
And the Rays and Sawx both lost, making the lead a little bit comfortable.
Great article about the Yankee success is today's Washington Post, focus on ability to find unexpected treasures.

Ugh, Stanton back on the DL.
Nice, CC.
Looks like Straily has control problems tonight.
Thairo with a dinger.
Dang, 30 home runs against the Os this year. Without Stanton and Judge.
31
Nice placement, DJ. Huzzah!
Madness. Gleyber Fay!
Gleyber en fuego
Rats, shutout gone
KABOOOOOOOOOM!
It’s ridiculous.
Ugh, Gleyber, just eat it
Fucking Bollocks!
The Orioles broadcasters don’t know what to say. Bugs Bunny level ridiculous.
Hot damn! Amazing.
Come on leather.
Thank you DJLM.
That's 10 taters for Gleyber so far against the O's? Wonder what the single season record is against one team..incredible.
Tommah.
Man the Os are bad.
Fail. That's gonna bite.
Never seen a batter react like that before.
Oh, goodie. Chad Greene.
Lou Gehrig hit 14 HRs against the Cleveland Indians in 1936. That is something to shoot for.
I like it. Cheers, gang.
Hey Guys... how bad a move was it for the Mets, getting old man Cano?
Easy schedule... yes... but this AAAA team has been AMAZING!
May the home run barrage continue
Ah, Boone has mercy on the Orioles, sitting Gary and Gleyber.
Uh oh, Tanaka hit again.
DJ was robbed
Sloppy game.
Out goes Frazier!
Gio with a couple of ribeyes.
Phew, stayed in the park.
How bad are the Orioles?
7 innings from Tanaka and no #obligatoryhomer
how many guys have to walk before you yank him? and now a hit. Finally got rid of him.
double crap
Ah, six innings from Tanaka.
Fer fuck's sake. Waste of a good Tanaka outing.
Yanks Bp doing a Nats imitation.
I will definitely take that.
take a walk for a run.
one out
Double play! Sweep sweep sweep.
But home run streak of 3+ is over.
Oh, and now Baltimore goes to Colorado.
an ugly W. but a W.
Welp, rained out already. Day-night DH tomorrow, being a DH they get to bring up another arm for the night cap, I believe.
Could be Chance Adams. No longer starting for SWB.
Hmmmmm... 2 out 2 run double. Well done, Clint.
two runs right off the bat is good.
Good Happ today.
Clint got robber
Brett wasn’t
Sac foul.
Happ’s tiring.
Dammit
Off to walk the dog
So, Luke goes boom. He have something against the shrubs?
I’m back. Worked again.
estrada. geez, who'd a thunk it in March?
Thairo!
rbj, love your dog.
kinda like Urshella sitting down on the job
[219] Thanks.
nice win.
Most satisfying
Let’s sweep this.
So far this isn’t working out well.
Now this is more like it.
Boooo! No hitting Luke, especially in the hands.
This team is confusing. I thought two out RISP hits weren’t allowed.
Ah, the old outfielder drops the ball so the runner tries for an extra base only to get thrown out play.
I think Old Man Gardy needs a rest. Hot or not, playing both games of a double header is asking a lot.
Hunter Dozier should be the face of Catepillar.
Time for a dog walk.
back in. no dog. nice to have a lead.
Well it didn’t work this time.
[234] Perhaps the problem is that I've been awake for this whole game. Blame the miscues on me.
Staton bobblehead? WTF. I can't believe they are going ahead with that PR disaster. Is that hubris or just idiocy.
Time to cash in.
[235] you are getting sleepy, very sleepy
Gleyber has a Camden Yards hangover.
And a sweep it is.
w is a w
And the Legend of Come-back Cameron Maybin continues.
[238] Cheers. I actually did zone out for awhile. Once again helping to secure the win.
Sweep time
perfect afternoon for baseball. about 90 outside. humid too. AC purring, adult beverage nearby. is this what I can look forward to in heaven?
and boom goes Frazier
Time for a Sunday sweep ... up 1-0, c'mon ze German!
Sigh.
#OBLIGATORYHOMERUN
do they have to give up a 3 run homer every day?
Crap crap
Yay! Maybin *not* having a good day so far.
Le sigh ...
Well, that inning was a bollocks.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH ... Syndrome??????????
Ugh, today it's ze Grrrrrrrrman.
Bound to have a clunker now and then.
Need the bats with hats to pick him up ...
Sigh. Just hope the Rays and Sawx lose too.
So lesson learned. German does not pitch against KC
Gleyber making it respectable.
Not dead tet.
Hicks! Tied up
took a little nap. adult beverage on on the afternoon. just got up yo see em tie it up.
who the heck is pitching?
[264] our old friend IPK
Cortes back out? Interesting.
I don’t need interesting, Clint.
Um, no one up in the pen?
Regardless of outcome (now 7-7 after 9), this Team has simply been amazing.
Big phew!
Modammit
rats. should have been 3 outs.
Happy Memorial Day, everyone!
And to you, cult.
Good start, Chad.
Yuck
Oh, joy ...
Luuuke on defense.
SYNDROME!
2-1!
Clint!
GGBG!
3-2!!!
Gritner!!
Oh, Dellin throwing. Hope he comes back soon.
Adroit from Voit!
More D from Voit
Bill Buckner has died.
Some insurance, please.
KRAKEN!
Thank you Kraken
And Gleyber & Maybin
one gone
And there's the second
And the third.
Enjoy the rest of your day
You as well!
#obligatoryhomer. And of the three run variety.
#seppuku
I'll be back in 15-20 minutes ... hopefully the ballboy isn't pitching by that point ...
Off to walk the dog.
Didn’t work this time
I know *why* it is ... and I know it's only *temporary* ... but I still throw up in my mouth a little when I see "Kendry Morales" in the batting order.
Can we get some offense?
Thanks, Kraken
Is it safe to look again?
Well, 1 is a start
Blech
1 pm start tomorrow
And given back
Screw this. See you tomorrow morning.
FU Blue
Meh, just call the game now. I’d rather lose a rain shortened game than lose another player to the DL.
Or play out the inning.
I’ll take that, Luke will too.
Back to within one.
And about to give it back
I love Frazier but he is not a great outfielder. Not sure if he is even good. Maybe it is the after effects from the concussion from last year and he’s tentative?
He gets burned so much, just misses catches and makes some bad judgements a lot.
Great bat but not great D. Gardner hasn’t been great this year either although he has made a couple of great plays. He might just need more rest.
[314] To be expected when we only use AAAA relievers when losing.
We're back in the game, but where are out best relievers? I'm asking you Mr. Boone.
He seems to think that any old pitcher can pitch in most any situation.
Frazier is definitely a below average fielder. If he wasn’t hitting well I would suspect he has an eye sight problem with the way he constantly miss-judges plays in the field.
Cessa? Cessa with the bases loaded. WTF! (I submit: Lance Lynn)
[318] Let me remind you of another below average fielder. A man by the name of Reginald Martinez Jackson. ;>)
What a crappy play. Nothing Gio could do about it.
Don't know that it would have changed anything, but Urshela screwed up on that infield pop-up from Gardner. (unless the C was coming to cover 1st out of camera view)
Night
I fear this game is one long, cock tease. Gotta get to work anyway.
[322] To explain further, since someone took umbrage over at BBTF to the same comment:
Perhaps I should have phrased it differently. Urshela didn't really "screw up" on that play, but he played it sub-optimally as a base runner. Unless the C was coming from home to cover first (which ought to be the coach's responsibility to monitor), he had at least as far as the first baseman (who was off the bag to start the play AND in front of Gio) to wait to see the outcome of the play (and it became apparent VERY early in the play that there was trouble). As SS, 2nd AND P converged on the ball as it was dropping, the 1st baseman released towards the center of the diamond. At this point, Gio is *not* in danger (again, barring movement from the C , he can just stand there until the play is resolved; if it's caught, he simply retreats to first with ease, but if it drops, he's in as forward a position as he could be to try and force an issue and possibly advance. Instead, when the 1st baseman releases, Gio has already long since started retreating to the bag, so when the ball drops, he has to stop his momentum and then head towards 2nd.
As I stated in the first post, it probably doesn't matter in the end, but maybe, just maybe, if Urshela plays it right, he's on top of 2nd baseman (and in the lane) almost as the ball is dropping, maybe there's interference, maybe that forces something hurried from the defense ... it couldn't have been any worse than the outcome he got.
Wish the Yankees had won last night, this one seem like a tough ask.
Just back from walking my sister's dog. Nice to come back to a lead.
Gio!
Well, didn't expect this one to go this way so far ...
Nice outing for Big Maple.
Tack on run.
Gleyber! That's one way to get the runner in from third.
Ugh, Chapman has to get up.
Phew, shutout
Perhaps it's time for a new thread? Let's take 3 of 4 againt the Sawks!
Rats, postponed.
