Just when you thought things couldn’t get stranger for these New York Yankees, that’s exactly what happened.
I guess it wasn’t that much of a surprise when they essentially stood pat at the trade deadline. This team is what it is, and with no significant offensive additions available, it probably made sense not to trade away any prospects for the fool’s gold being peddled out there.
No, that’s not the strange part. Two days ago Anthony Rizzo went on the injured list with concussion-like symptoms, and he reported a few troubling things, including a recent inability to keep track of the number of outs in an inning. As much as fans might criticize Rizzo for his abysmal summer, this seems a bit more important.
Alongside Rizzo in the Life vs. Sport file, we’ve got Domingo Germán. Two days ago the Yankees announced that he will be undergoing treatment for alcoholism and will not appear again this season. When pressed about it that afternoon, all parties declined to give any more information than that, except to say that there was an incident that spurred the ultimate decision. Now we hear reports that Germán appeared to be intoxicated when he arrived at the Stadium and was physically and verbally aggressive when players and staff members attempted to manage him. (Presumably after calling the 1950s for some advice, they apparently locked him into a sauna in an effort to sweat the alcohol out.)
In the wake of all this, it’s difficult to be too concerned about how the Yankees do in this current stretch of games against some of the best teams in the American League, but that’s the nature of the game. The calendar stops for no concussion victim, no alcoholic, no suffering fan. “We play today, we win today. Dat’s it.”
Sorry for the delay, everyone -- but here's the new thread!
Who’s in the booth with Kay?
That’s Jeff Nelson.
Ah, thanks.
Kay and Nelson are wrong. There’s no excuse for sending Stanton on the play because there was no way he could’ve scored. Zero chance. We know he can’t run, and he was literally jogging to third. It doesn’t matter that there were two outs and that they needed to score. He was never going to score.
Yup. Stanton is station to station at this point. I don’t mind Miggy jogging to first on routine ground balls to short. Better that than a pulled hammy.
Don’t the Yankees have a vaunted analytics staff? Couldn’t they see a very good player in Rizzo was uncharacteristically slumping, and trace it back to him getting checked for a concussion?
And running Rizzo back out after him reporting “fogginess” is unforgivable. If Boone did that on his own without reporting it, he needs to be fired. If the FO oked it, then there needs to be a hefty fine.
MLBPA needs to file a grievance. Unexcuseable.
Just got in. Any reason why Nestor is out so early?
First start back. Not much of chance to build up, especially with German being an idiot.
[7] Rizzo exited the game following the collision and missed the next three contests due to a stiff neck. Boone said Rizzo passed MLB's concussion protocol before returning to the field on June 2.
But Rizzo recently mentioned feeling "foggy" to the club's medical staff, according to Boone. After being run through neurological testing, the results showed Rizzo was “moving a lot slower than the normal person’s reaction time would be," the first baseman said."
It doesn't specifically tell us the amount of time between Rizzo 'mentioning' it and then getting tested.
If he's been feeling badly for so long, I don't know how he passed his first tests
Bauers: Career OPS+ 84. 2023 OPS+ 117.
[10] he mentioned it to Boone who then played him two more games.
Gleyber!
Nice win
No, [10] [7] has it right.
Rizzo reported fuzziness.
Boone then played him the next 3 games.
When asked if there was considered given to NOT playing him?
Boone said ... "No".
Burn this staff down and take Cashman with it.
Here's the proof ...
https://twitter.com/ChrisKirschner/status/1687289004209672192
Old friend, Jay Jaffe:
"“For a team that was once well ahead of the curve when it came to concussions (recall their decision to end Jorge Posada’s career as a catcher after evaluating the effect of his multiple concussions in 2010), this is shocking.”"
And his conclusion ...
"One thing is clear after this week: from top to bottom, from Cashman and Boone on down, this organization needs a serious overhaul, a reevaluation of the roster’s construction and spending, not to mention the handling of their players’ well-being via the training and medical staff. Their leadership’s slump is as dire as those of their offense and rotation."

Holy crap. Is he just not trying or are his legs that bad?

Well, a think it's a combo ... a) he's Frankenstanton, a player created by combining 3 separate, disparate corpses b) has had leg issues this season c) probably is nursing an undisclosed leg issue at the moment and is playing through it because the team is "chasing a playoff spot" but knows that and doesn't want to do anything crazy and put himself back on the IL d) read the ball off the bat and thought, there's NO way he's going to send me, I'll stop at 3rd and e) another fucking idiot 3rd base coach for the Yankees.
I actually give Stanton credit for NOT trying to turn it on and just accepting the out.
If he's gonna hit, I'd rather have him hit than try to leg out a relatively meaningless run, given the risks he was potentially ... running.
Donaldson.
Trevino.
Rizzo.
Stanton?
Time will tell.
Before that?
Clint Frazier.
[0] Great post Hank. Perfect allusion.
Picture if you will, Tom Boatman, a die-hard Yankee fan, actually rooting for his team to lose.
[20] Maybe these guys have been made to feel or just feel (because they are good team players) that they have to keep going out there because there is no one coming up or in to replace them.
[22] Of course players will try and play through injuries and be there for the team ... that's why the "adults" in the room, the coaching staff, trainers, medical staff and management HAVE to be the adults in the room.
There are clear indications that the Yankees' "adults" have repeated failed (and NOT just this season).
Again ... Rizzo went to Boone and said he was suffering from "fogginess" ... two months after he suffered a concussion and had to clear protocol ... two months in which he was literally the worst hitter in baseball.
That should have just been a red flag ... that should have been a 4th of July fireworks display!
Boone's response?
Play him the next three games.
Did he even consider NOT playing him?
NO.
That's beyond negligent.
That should NOT have just been a red flag ... that should have been a 4th of July fireworks display!
Ah ... joy ... MLB blackout restriction in place.
Good start for Rodon
Gleyber!!
Gleyber seems to have found the way back machine
Crap
[26] So much for that ...
Is Rodon our 2022 version of Kei Igawa ... the guy we bought in a panic because we didn't pay for the guy we really wanted?
And now we are in what I like to call the "Land of the Lost" ... aka spots 5-9 in the lineup.
I didn't expect the rotation to be as good as the pundits said going into the season, but I didn't expect it to be Gerrit Cole and 4 gibbering arsonists (well, 3 + Montass), either.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd ... injury to Rodon???
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Sunday dinner and walking the terrorists did not help.
Try a blood sacrifice next time ...
There HAVE to be some Eldritch gods we can call upon ...
Has anybody asked what Cthulhu is up to these days???
He couldn't POSSIBLY be a worse choice than Severino in the rotation ...
I’ll take that hit.
And that HBP
Alright!
Come clean ... who sacrificed a small mammal to get us to 5-3???
THE POWERS OF BAUERS COMPEL YOU!
And that walk.
FEAR THE JUDGE!
Tied!
I mean, sheeeeeeeeit, if the Astros are just going to give it back to us?
OK!
Glargh.
Can’t anyone throw strikes?
Is Hernandez the new Joe West?
So ... *that* happened.
[49] If rbj doesn't walk the dogs, it appears the terrorists have already won ...
LeSigh
I remember when a DJ at bat was a thing of splendour and something I looked forward to ...
That was a nice nap. Waking up to this isn’t.
Needed more than one there.
Modammit
Due to vacation, I have not seen a Yankees game in about 10 days. Have I missed anything? ;)
Kay and Cone ... good booth!
Good to see Laz Diaz is going to be terrible.
I see the umpires still suck at knowing the strike zone.
It's Laz Diaz, he's been consistently awful for many years.
Sheesh.
Volpe.
Holy jumpin' Jebus
I've seen this show before.
Spectacular!
Utterly pathetic.
With, of course several assists from Laz Diaz.
Oh ... joy
Cole gives up homers.
I was thinking the walk would come back to bite them. Especially after the Yanks didn't cash any of theirs in.
Losing to the Sox with Cole on the mound and a predictable bases loaded no out 2nd inning failure is a nice way to ease into the dog days of August.
HOLY SHIT ... that was 2-3 inches off the plate.
I honestly don’t get it. What if an NBA referee decided he was going to interpret the charge/block rule completely different from all the other referees? How long would that last?
Tonight’s strike zone is ridiculous, and it doesn’t matter if he’s consistent. Is Gleyber Torres just supposed unlearn the strike zone for this one game? It’s so stupid.
This is one of the worst umping performances I can remember.
I give him for being consistently awful, but awful is nothing to strive for.
Robots.
I fear our AI doom ... but I want our Robot Overlord Plate Umpires.
How has Boone-y not gotten thrown out yet?
This f'ng team ... 6 walks ... 0 hits.
7 walks ... 0 hits.
Gleyber and Judge appear to have been playing catch with a piece of gum just now.
Might as well amuse themselves ... somehow.
A HIT!!!
TWO!!!
WHAT IS THIS???
Figures.
Oh, right ... THAT.
Three bases loaded opportunities with < 2 outs?
Three pop ups.
Oh ... joy ... bases loaded ... again.
A RUN!
Tijuana Taxi

It's just a setup for a DJ DP.
Cat Ninja Margoo
GET OUT OF MY HEAD!
These White Sox announcers really like that wide strike.
I don't know how they got so many walks with Diaz behind the plate. He is giving inches on both sides of the plate.
Actually that one to Volpe looked like a strike.
Ironically ... that 3rd strike?
Was a strike.
That's it for Cole
Of ... course he fumbled that.
Siiiiiiiiiigh.
Wait ... with the bases loaded and no outs ... your allowed to hit to ball far enough to score a runner?
Who knew???
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd ... that's that.
What an awful game.
Booooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
Wow.
Don't even know where to start with that mess of a game.
If anyone wants proof for their eyes that Laz Diaz was gobsmackingly awful last night ... here's his umpire's report card.
https://twitter.com/UmpScorecards/status/1688921716695961600?s=20
FALAFEL!
RUNS!!!
That's the most exciting Yankee thing I've seen in days!
I recant my earlier comment.
I AM NOT ALONE!
Johnny Lasagne ... let's go!
Nice!
Evening all!
Damn, Robbie Roberts has died.
Robbie Robertson as well!
Sixto Rodriguez, too.
Great judgement, Bauers ... thanks!
(110). Saw him twice a few years ago. I think he was second to the Beatles in parts of the world.
So much for THAT experiment.
Christ.
I know that Severino is the story right now, but the baserunning in the first inning was also troubling. I feel like the Yankees have made a ton of unnecessary outs on the base paths, so I looked it up. Turns out that heading into tonight they’re exactly league average — 33 outs.
[110] stupid autocorrect.
Yeesh. Who leads the league in terrible base running?
The Reds have made 53 outs on the bases and these White Sox are best in that category with just 20 outs.
Thanks,Hank. Ooohhh. Potential runs.
A run or ball 4? Ugh.
1 in
Pathetic.
Play the circus music.
I have no idea what you do with Severino at this point ... other than NOT start (even with an "opener") him.
I'm not sure he is going to work out of the bullpen.
Yeesh.
Mother fuck him and John Wayne!
I didn't realize the white Sox were so good this year.
In a seven-run game you shouldn’t be able to point at any specific moments, but the Yankees had the bases loaded and nobody out in the seventh and didn’t score. The White Sox had bases loaded and nobody out in the eighth and scored four. That’s it.
Fire Cashman?
"I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard other GMs refer to Cashman as a certain Hall of Famer, which he is, and as one of the very best to have done the job. They say this because he finds a way to win across eras, and without ever taking a three-to-five year break. Virtually no one else knows how to do this.
Rivals don’t often cite the Yankees’ high payrolls as a reason for this streak, because no other rich team has won this frequently. They see only accomplishment."
[125] You are so right. Their inability to score seems like a vu-doo curse. It's literally unbelievable. You would think simply by accident that would score more runs.
And now Nestor to the injured list. Honestly, what do you even do at this point?
From ESPN:
Alas, as the season reaches the dog days, that group -- beyond Cy Young candidate Gerrit Cole -- has become a font of disappointment and disarray. Since the beginning of July, New York ranks 28th in rotation ERA, better only than Pittsburgh and Washington. This has occurred despite Cole's 2.70 ERA and a WHIP (0.84), bettered only by Milwaukee's Corbin Burnes, during that span. The non-Cole Yankees starters have gone 7-11 with a 6.57 ERA and a .893 OPS allowed since the start of July.
It’s a tough thing to give up on a season, but I’m really not sure what’s to be lost by giving playing the kids from here on out. Everson Pereira should be playing left field every day, for example. I suppose we’ll see the young starters simply because there’s no other choice, but there’s not much reason to think this team might make the playoffs.
Forgot it was a 6:40 start.
Sigh.
All rise
RISP hits? What sort of sorcery is this?
[130] They are 4 games out of A PLAYOFF Spot.
It's getting close, but not yet time to give up.
I know, I know. The problem is that there are several teams ahead of them, and so so many injuries. But I’m still watching!
Alright, walking the terrorists worked
Two quick outs.
Three!
[130] From Pinstripe Alley, today ...
https://www.pinstripealley.com/2023/8/12/23829321/yankees-aaron-judge-shut-down-2023-season-2024-plan-prospects-cortes-rodon-peraza-pereira-rizzo
If there's even a 1% chance Judge could do further damage to his toe and complicate the almost certain surgery that will follow the season, he should be shut down at this point to be as healthy as possible for 2024.
And ballgame.
So ... this is starting off fantastically.
GREAT opening!
For the rest of the year, I'd LOVE if this team plays great and hits on the day Gerrit Cole pitches so he can finally win his first Cy Young ... other than that ... I really am at the point where I hope they lose enough games (and quickly enough) that this team actually starts thinking 2024.
Not that I have any hope this management team will be proactive.
Kinda figures that with the NFL starting up, the Mets lose 21-3
[144] Well, this game is going to plan ...
This offense could put an insomniac with three RedBulls in him to sleep.
Hey, a run!
[147] You make like the blessed state of forgetful sleep would be a BAD thing in this case ...
I'm not sure I even want to call him FranK any more ... maybe I'll just start calling him The Pebble.
Complete game.
This?
Is not a serious team.
Another GREAT at bat from The Pebble.
A first baseman who drops a routine turn on a double play. Oi!
Always great to run up Cole's pitch count unnecessarily ... whee!
A run ... and more complete awfulness from Volpe and Rortvedt.
Post Sunday dinner terrorist walk worked.
Sorta, obviously, you came back too soon.
Too hot out to stay out for long..
Bah ... it's supposed to get to 110 again today.
“Only” 93 here.
I’ll take that run
Foxy!
Volpe!
This is better.
Gleyber has Posada like instincts on the baselaths. Good thing he has a bit more speed.
GREAT no send on The Pebble.
That was a nice nap.
The Pebble now has company in the Platinum Sombrero Club!
Not good.
Jeebus, Little League.
Atta boy, Clay! Nice fucking work!
Cole gets another no decision.
Jesus Christ, I go to prep dinner thinking ... this is in the bag AND ... strewth.
What a colossal fucking joke of a team.
One day closer to hockey season.
End the misery now. No need to prolong this shitshow.
[176] One day closer to playing all the rookies.
I was driving just now listening to the Marlins broadcast. I got a bad feeling in top of the ninth when they said, “And now they’re sitting down Loaisaga and getting up Holmes.”
I left when the score was 7 to 2. A win in the bank.
WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED?????
Good.
Ahahahahahahahahahahahaha ... CRUSHING IT BOONE-Y!
Grrrr, what a fucking loss.
This reminds me of 2019 when every few weeks we were saying this was the worst loss of the season. THIS is one of the worst losses not just of this season, but of probably the last five seasons. Crushing.
I want Boone fired SO bad, I can taste it.
UNBELIVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[185] Our best reliever giver up 5 runs and you blame Boone?
I know it seems like I’m always defending Boone. I’ll grant that he should’ve walked Burger there, but shouldn’t Holmes be able to close out a game with a four-run lead? Shouldn’t Holmes be able to throw to first base and not down the right field line?
[188] Not to mention Holme's throwing error.
[184] Agreed. Almost beyond belief. I can't remember a worse game.
But I will say this — it’s crazy to pitch to Burger, a guy who’s been wearing the ball out all series, instead of Jorge Soler, a guy who hadn’t played all series because of the stomach flu.
[187][188] I want Boone-y fired for about 4 years worth of grievances.
Is he the only one to blame, or even the primary person to blame?
HELL no, but I'm not getting Cashman or Hal, so Boone-y it should be.
[187] See [179] ... I don't agree with dry-humping relievers in general.
Mike Axisa, of the late and greatly missed River Ave. Blues, with an article worth reading.
https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/how-missteps-by-yankees-ownership-brian-cashman-have-led-to-new-yorks-shocking-decline-since-2017/
It’s hard to argue with anything in that article, and one thing that stands out is that ALL of those things have to go wrong or be done wrong to put the team in this predicament. They have so many advantages that it should be easy to build a dominant team. Even with all of this, the team is still not out of playoff contention. These aren’t the Oakland A’s.
It just shouldn’t be this hard.
The point about young hitters failing to develop is something I’ve been thinking about. There have been too many failures not to question what’s going on. I think they actively screwed up Gary Sánchez, for example. Why they were worried about pitch framing when they had a kid with a rocket arm who would also hit 30-40 home runs a year is completely beyond me.
Also, the lack of a power-hitting lefty is unconscionable.
As a Yankee fan for 73+ years ( the first in utero cause my mom loved the Yanks) I’ve never been as disappointed in my team (with a possible time in the 60s). Cashman has a HOF career as a GM, but it’s sayonara time ( even if he manages to sign Ohtani). Right now the Yanks have 3 legitimate MLB players: Cole, Judge, and Glayber. Worse there’s no plan to improve, other than hope. The Braves, the Os, even the Nats are getting better, and will be in the mix over the next 5 years. Money is not the answer (see: Mets). Trade the major league players for the best prospects in baseball, get some great teaching coaches, and wait for a few years. Boone has not been entirely awful, but he needs to b gone too, since he relies on over the hill 30 somethings in the belief he’s gonna turn it around.yesterday was the fork. They’re done
"even if he manages to sign Ohtani"
Ohtani didn't even bother MEETING with the Yankees last time ... he. is. not. coming. here.
Not the least because Hank won't spend the money.
How will we waste 1st and 3rd no outs ... THIS time?
Shallow fly ball, now comes the DP.
ONE RUN ... A HAH HAH!
Huh, a run.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd ... that's it.
And that’s it
[196] The cavalry isn't riding over the hill ... this team will be mediocre next year as well.
The Yankees have essentially been a .500 time since their implosion LAST year ... they're going to be the same damn thing this time next year as well.
It's not like they've got the magic bean prospects waiting in the wings, or the promise of a game-changing free agent.
They are who they essentially will next year ... except they'll be older then, though just as expensive.
That didn’t take long.
[195] I think one of the things in the article that irked me the most was the CBT maneuvering and shenanigans that have completely backfired.
If Hal had just paid the going rate instead of trying to game the CBT, we'd be done with our albatrosses sooner, rather than later.
But ... NOPE!
[205] Do you think you could take the terrorists on a marathon walk tonight?
It’s too hot out. They didn’t even have their morning long walk and they weren’t upset about it.
Then ... we have already lost.
SWIM MOVE!
Falafel!
AND the overslide!
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd there goes the lead.
Let the nut punching continue. 2 out out 2 run go ahead singles. Who knew?
And, ballgame.
No ... NOW it's ballgame!
Schmidt getting squeezed and Judge getting screwed. And so it goes....
Eh, I'd be angrier if the Yankees didn't have mostly themselves to blame.
This series might be FUGLY.
Good.
Varsity vs. Modified. Fucking Bollocks!
Whuppin' be on!
This is not a good team.
Nice hands,Kyle. You fit in real nice.
[222] Don't you disrespect our 2nd best starter!
I want the Barves to mercy rule us every. single. game.
What's the O/U on the number of games a Yankees position player pitches in this series?
1.5?
It looks as if the Braves not only want just to win but also beat the living shit out of you while doing so. This team may be serious good.
That's what is supposed to happen with a runner on 3rd and 2 outs. A harmless ground out! Didn't Atlanta get the memo.
[226] I’m definitely going over.
[227] At this rate, the Yankees will be calling me up to pitch in this series ... and today was my 52nd birthday!
I’m confused, the Barves didn’t score that inning.
I understand it's very hot and humid, perhaps they were taking a rest.
[231] I'm NOT confused ... the Yankees didn't score that inning.
I want double digits, for the home team.
Don't worry, I'm sure that after the Hamilton, the flood ...
[230] Happy Birthday! At least we don't have illusions about the Yankees winning this series.
Sweet baby Jebus ... I don't ask for much ... but can you please bring our shiny Robot Umpire Overlords?
So ... when do the Yankees admit defeat and just cut The Pebble?
It won't be this year.
And it won't be *next* year ... HE MIGHT BOUNCE BACK!!!
But, if next year is as bad as *this* year?
My money is on the 2025 season.
BRAVO, meathead ... getting picked off 1st down 6 runs.
Well walking the terrorists was unproductive.
[239] Looked safe, but should have not been close.
235 cult of basebaal ~ Aug 14, 2023 7:58 pm
Don't worry, I'm sure that after the Hamilton, the flood ...
One run in.
Well, THAT was dumb, Atlanta
Who wants to predict the final runs scored of this series?
I'm going to guess 28-11, Atlanta.
Though 11 is probably 3-4 too many runs on the optimistic side.
THERE'S MY DOUBLE DIGITS!!!
[222] Have you seen Puss In Boots 2, rbj?
Judge has to be thinking ... I'm playing on a bad toe and risking my career for THIS team?
28(11) - 11(3)
Game on!
Oh joy a Sevy start. O/U 2.1 IP. I’m going under.
But that's just SO obvious!
I'm going to take the over and predict something off the wall ... 6IP ... 1 run!
Well ... I guess I lose.
28(14) - 11(3)
One strike away from getting out of it.
Hey, Sevy has exceeded my expectations.
Thunderstorm, so can’t walk the terrorists.
And ballgame, sigh.
The Yankees aren't going to get 5 hits ... let alone 5 runs.
Another day when it can’t get any worse
One freaking hit
'One freaking hit' AND 2 errors!
By this time tomorrow, odds are that this will be a .500 team.
I still can't believe it.
We might not have a WS team, but we have too much talent to be a .500 team.
It's a virus.
Somewhere in the locker room is a virus, and it has fucked our ENTIRE TEAM!
The problem is there’s no urgency with this team.
[261] Should have been 3 ... Volpe missed that ball they ruled a hit.
It's tomorrow already today and the Yankees ARE at .500 ... 60-60.
I guess I am bemused by those of you in disbelief ... this team has been **this** team since the 2nd half of last season.
It's a mediocrity.
And next year could very easily be worse.
New lineup!
At least Boone-y has figured out not to bat Gleyber "I just set a new Yankees record with 6 GiDPs in 6 games while hitting behind the only person who reliably gets on base!" Torres behind Judge ... after 6 games.
FEAR THE CHANGE BARVES!!!
Even though we’re gonna lose by 5.3 grand slams, The Wife and I are headed to the stadium now to see the game. We’re a little behind, so I might miss Judge’s first AB dammit.
But, hey, “there are a lot of games left and it’s right in front of us!” At least we get to see Peraza. Oh, wait. Staring down a losing record…
NOSTRA!!!!
Cult!!! I’ll barely be checking in here once we get there, but… GO YANKS!!!
I texted Nostra that despite his pessimism ... I believe he will witness the only win of the series!
Ah, good, Cone in the booth.
Uh oh ... I'mma pretend those last 2 at bats didn't happen
And that’s tonight’s ballgame.
Update:
28(18) - 11(3)
Obviously, the Barves still have a shot at their target.
Maybe, by 11 ... I meant *hits*
Hey, double the number of hits from yesterday.
Shockingly ... this team has not miraculously become good since last night.
Phew just foul.
I'll be more than happy when the robo-umps arrive and stop gifting 3-0 "strikes"
Off day tomorrow, Friday is Apple+ game.
Rats, walking the terrorists didn’t work.
C'mon Yankees ... Nostra needs a bloop a walk and a blast!
Well ... it can happen in the 9th!!!
UNDER .500!
DESERVES GOT EVERYTHING TO DO WITH IT!
Not even interested in watching this crap
Wow. 3 hits. Boonie must be happy about this improvement
I’m with you, Gary. But, at least the at-bats were competitive! (I was there and they weren’t.)
Hey, ‘Boonie’ - 4 hits, 1 walk, 13 strikeouts, ZERO runs. Please tell us how competitive the at-bats were. Below .500 second half of August. Please tell us how we have sooo many games left. The only thing in front of us is that your managing skills are on par with the umpiring skills of Angel Hernandez and Laz Diaz combined. Which is nothing compared to Brian Cashman’s “skills” at putting together a competent roster. Hell, even just getting a left fielder. What a bunch of f*@^ing bollocks.
[286] KEEP HOPE ALIVE!
New York manager Aaron Boone said it's not too late to salvage the season.
"The game is still littered with examples of teams going on unlikely runs," Boone said. "I get it looks bleak, and I don't want to even suggest that we're in a position to even talk about a streak like that. We've got to fix our own house and get going. But there's a lot of season left too, and we've got to look at it that way."
I wish Boone-y and Cashman and Hal would all drink Flavor-Aid ... but it appears we've only stocked Kool Aid and we're stuck with them for next year ... at least.
