When the New York Yankees arrived at the ballpark on May 17, 2022, they were on top of the world. Their record stood at a major league best 26-9, they were in the middle of a modest four-game winning streak, and — history tells us — they’d eventually climb as high as 38 games over .500 at 61-23 through 84 games. But history also tells us that they’d go 38-40 over the final 78 games and end the season with a disheartening four-game sweep in the ALCS at the hands of the Houston Astros.
As the 2024 Yankees head into this weekend’s three-game series with the Chicago White Sox, they are similarly positioned. At 30-15 they have the best record in the American League, just one game off the pace set by the National League’s Philadelphia Phillies, and while we might be wise to remember what happened two years ago before we begin making plans for October, something about this team feels different, doesn’t it?
We’re not quite a third of the way through the season, but we could be looking at something special. Let’s! Go! Yan! Kees!
Uh oh, the Yankees depantsed a supposedly good Twins team (26 straight scoreless innings!) And now face a supposedly bad White Sox team. Nope, don’t like it at all.
Now 27.
All rise!
Amazing. That fan went to the game with his glove thinking he'd catch a Judge homer. Wish granted. Holy cow.
And there goes the streak. 28 innings.
Just missed
Oh, thanks Hank.
Man I wanted to make some noise here at BB during the Twins series! Everyone was gushing about the bats (especially Judge's, of course), but the pitching was a bigger story as far as I'm concerned. Amazing.
I don't see how IBBing Judge makes any sense.
I guess if you really believe he's as hot as he seems, what the hell, a walk is a way-below-average result.
But that's kind of dumb. Major league managers are supposed to be wiser than that.
Well, it worked, so what do I know?
Stanton joins the party!
[10] Loudly.
So, the Jays-Rays game is interesting.
It's on Apple.TV, which I don't have, but I'm listening to it.
[12] yup monitoring it by the MLB app, meanwhile Caesar Milan time. Looking for tip for the terrorists.
Whew.
So, excellent job by Nestor. He didn't look great, honestly, but excellent results.
That’s what four or five straight good starts in a row? And Cole is waiting in the wings.
Aw.
Well, no perfecto. No shut-out.
[15] Yeah I'm particularly impressed with the guys I think of as the "no-name' guys. Schmidt, Gil.
Even the no hitter gone.
At least now I can stop listening to those awful radio announcers. (I tried both team's crews, both terrible.)
gg
Let's keep it rolling guys!
Good win.
Hm Gil isn't fooling anyone today.
Whew.
Wow that could have been much worse.
Only one run, I’ll take it.
Sign him long term. 12 years, $420 million?
Judge singles.
What's wrong with him?? I hope he's not injured.
And untied
It's sooooooo much fun when there are three legit hitting stars...
PLUS Volpe, Rizzo, Verdugo.
Even Trevino
Approved!
Okay Gil looks fine, whew.
Stanton, too, looks to be fine.
Yeah 11 K in five innings, it's hard to be worried about Gil.
Can they sign him between innings?
[25] Maybe it has to be $450M.
Yesterday (I think?) there was a little discussion on YES, and the word is that Boras said yes, they will listen to mid-season extension offers.
He generally gets his players to 'test the market', but... maybe Soto will say he loves it in NY and wants to see if the Yankees will put up a giant sum.
Missed the Stanton blast, had to take the parents to Costco.
Caught a bit of the radio, no Suzyn?
Suzyn is sill there but in the 'analyst' role now.
I bet she won't be so interested in sticking around post-Sterling.
Uhhhh.
Don't look now, but Gil has struck out 14 ChiSox in six innings.
Leave him in to go for the record???
14 ks! Hot Dog!
Atta boy, GIL!
Gil's just under 100 pitches. That was probably his last one.
(I mean, he's on pace to surpass Kerry Wood, in case that wasn't obvious.)
I heartily approve and endorse oh thal Gil start.
Oh man.
Well, this is one way to make them pitch to Judge.
Sheesh.
Well, tip of the hat, it was just excellent pitching.
[38] Ah. Yeah, she might retire too. Maybe Meredith could take her place.
$475 million?
gg
Great game.
Volpe: good.
But not those other losers.
Rodon
Not on.
Hoorah for the Sub-Stanton part of the order!
Very nice job guys.
Ah, dinner, tend to the terrorists and tied up
Wow. Now that's what I call "pitching in and out of trouble."
Okay let's hope Good Rodon has just arrived and will stay for a few innings.
Bye, bye Berti!
Wow again.
Wow.
So today is Bottom Half of the Order Day, huh?
This team is getting kind of scary.
All rise, I guess the bottom of the order shamed the top.
That was Judge saying thanks to the Bottoms.
That wasn’t very nice.
[59] What was that, robbing Trevino?
Yes. I men, how many homers is he going to hit.
Well I’ll be, the Yankees did what they were supposed to do: sweeping a bad team.
gg
Man it's going to be so weird when they lose!
Only a double, Aaron?
Verdugo picks him up.
Greetings ... Banter type HU-mans!
2-0 ... that's nice ... I'm not sure what a Logan Gilbert is, but he looks like he should be selling meth out of a double wide in Bellingham ...
Did we ever sign a Banter tontine?
Logan was a surprise, a good one, for the M's, but not so much recently.
So, I'm really on board with this Verdugo double thing. He racks up a few more of those, Judge will be seeing more fastballs in the strike zone. (And we'll be seeing more in the bleachers.)
who is doing the broadcast with Kay???
Yeah I was wondering too. RBJ did you hear who it is?
Nope, I tuned in late. Former player, though.
Ah ... supposedly ... it's Todd Frazier.
Strewth ... I've switched to the M's feed ... he's awful.
" it's Todd Frazier."
You know ... 1/2 season Yankees legend Todd Frazier
Boooooooo.
Boooooo Burti.
I loved you yesterday, but that was yesterday.
That's Todd Frazier?? That's not what I would have expected him to sound like.
I have not confirmed it for myself ... but Kay DID call him Todd, so ... I think that's him.
Also what is with all these starters-who-are-not-Gerrit-Cole pitching long strings of excellent innings?? I could definitely get used to that.
Verdugo DAMN!
Hm.
These GIDP are standing between us and a blowout, though.
Tack on run
[79] At this point, maybe a six man rotation
Cat Ninja Margoo
It's just along the lines of ... once you see that something, whatever it is ... you can't UNSEE it?
I just can't unhear this clown.
tijuanataxi
How about the radio team tonight, that's always an option on MLB.tv.
Cat Ninja Margoo
You know how I feel about the Yankees' radio booth ...
tijuanataxi
But Sterling's gone and Waldman hasn't been around lately. I never use the radio option so I don't know who's in their booth tonight.
Cat Ninja Margoo
Ah ... well ... as long as there's neither of the S&S duo of doom, that could be an option.
I feel like Algy should bring back Scooter and let him call the games
tijuanataxi
This might slightly date me, but the best combo was Mel Allen and the Scooter. When the Dodgers were in Brooklyn, it was kind of neat to hear both the Yankees and Dodgers announcers sporting such strong and melodious southern accents.
Cat Ninja Margoo
Let's be honest ... we're probably only between 2 and 5 years before Algy swallows every possible baseball broadcast ever made ... from just about every broadcast team and the real-time game feed allows us to experience Vin Scully and Phil Rizzuto calling whatever game you'd ever want to watch.
And THEN?
You will know fear ...
Cat Ninja Margoo?
How about Howard Cosell and Hawk Harrelson?
Because I *am* a cat ... and cats ARE chaotic evil, after all ...
[83]
Scooter and Dr. Bobby Brown.
Good start from Marcus ... now, let's tack some insurance on!
Stroman for the 8th?
I'd have someone tossing now ... one and done.
I think he was out.
But maybe not enough to over turn.
Guess there was ...
Huh.
He might have been out, but I don't see how they could overturn that.
Certainly looks like a terrible decision to run there ... now.
Okay make 'em pay, Alex.
AV #2.
[93] Hm, so the first four batters reach... and we have no runs to show for it.
[95] It DOES take some doing ...
Pitcher threw over twice so no third throw over, I’ll accept the risk, even if it didn’t work.
Blech
ARGH!
The GIDP killing us.
Sigh.
That was the most predictable thing ... ever.
[88] It appears that THIS IS THE WAY!
I'll be damned. Stroman.
Can't predict baseball.
And......
One bafter too many.
Well ... I meant one baserunner ... but that IS a ONE ... and he is done.
Okay, all is forgiven! Fly birdie fly!
Oh goodie.
Tactics.
Well, whatever, got the run, and now Volpe leads off if we get to the bottom of the ninth.
One down. Walking the terrorists and both teams scored a run
Cheapie hit
Hm.
This is why I'm not as high on Clay Holmes as a lot of fans are.
Um
Uh ... Holmes seems to want to make this interesting ...
Unbelievable.
Oh FFS
Le sigh ...
Tying run ISP.
Oh my god.
This is ridiculous
Jeebus
Unreal.
Ungood.
I mean, only the BB is Holmes's fault. But still.
He was bound to catch some shit breaks at some point. Oi!
Ah, a walk to ensure a DP. Grumble grumble grumble
And tied.
[121] Yeah but the walks.
Mo used to have similar problems sometimes... but not the walks.
[106] This. THIS is YOUR fault!
I was watching game 7 of Oiler-Canucks with this game as an afterthought. Sigh.
Oy.
Okay, well, we will need some serious action in the bottom.
Head of Clay.
Well ... ugh ... but at least it's Volpe leading off!
Those GIDP w RISP are really hurting now.
Classic "bad Volpe" at bat ... sigh.
Yeah go ahead, walk Judge now.
I would like a classic "good Judge" at bat here to send us home happy!
Wow.
Dude can pitch.
Best pitch he got was the one he took looking for strike 3.
Well ... that SUCKED.
Sorry, Marcus.
Those GIDP w RISP.
Sigh.
Oh well, let's blow 'em out tomorrow.
Fucking Bollocks! What a horrible way to end a 7 gws.
Ok, new day, new game.
Boo
Nice from Verdugo
No overswing ... just solidly barreled into the gap.
Would be nice to string some hits together
Would be nice to stop digging now that we're solidly in a hole ...
Two ... TWO RUNNERS ON!
A RALLY!
Thanks, Frank.
Two game losing streak. The world is ending.
Gleyber the Rally Killer!
Well ... THAT good feeling didn't last long
Ok, how about a win tonight
Oh, shoot, needed to relieve myself and missed that.
Kay would kill a player for forgetting how many outs there are. It's okay if he does it.
Nestor might only go five.
[152] I can still hear Scooter raising high holy heck over a player’s bad bunt attempt. “You’re supposed to catch the ball with the bat.”
12 years of that in the Bronx, yeah, I could see that.
[151] What, Judge back on track?
I loved that (backward) K-and-CS.
The regular DP is also helpful.
Kahnle!
[156] Yup.
Oh yeah Kahnle, been waiting' for ya!
Mmmm, Soto.
Soto Solo.
So-so.
Oh, sure. Solo homer, but then strike out with the bases loaded.
Boooooo.
Tonkin can be excruciating.
Hm.
Well, now I miss Tonkin.
Ahh.
I was starting to feel that blowing-a-lead feeling.
Much better.
gg again.
Ah, storms have moved on . Didn’t look good this morning.
Stanton!
And Judge. Just need baserunners on before
Dang, a hit
Tough error there.
Ah good, changed to a hit.
And I’d keep the other a hit, makes it easier to pull Gil.
Insurance please.
Yeesh, didn't realize it was an early game. Of course it is, getaway Thursday.
Yeah annoying to have 3BB and 8 hits and have only two runs out of the two homers!
But this looks promising...
Promise fulfilled as I hit Post Comment!
Okay let's cash these and make it a blow-out.
Thank you.
Heh, I bet the left side of the infield is happy Stanton walked. I wouldn't want to be playing in at third when he's hitting (especially when the pitcher makes him mad).
Very nice.
Makes up for the failure to get more than two runs with those two early homers.
Goddam it. One free pass by each reliever in a 5-0 8th inning. That is not acceptable.
ARGH.
Tying run on deck without putting the ball in play!
Oh it's a Save situation!
Sheesh. But I would rather have had Clay fully charged up for San Diego.
Threat averted.
There’s one
And two.
There ya go.
Argh, late night west coast games up next.
Well, Volpe's streak beats Darvish's streak.
(Darvish had a 25 inning scoreless streak, but Volpe tripled to lead off the game, and couple batters later the scoreless streak was over.)
Thank Baby Jebus 2.0, the Todd Frazier Experience has been cancelled ... at least for now.
Speaking of Baby Jebus 2.0 ... WTF is going on with these SD uniforms ... they look like something the Marlins looked at and went .... "Naaaaaaaaah, too much for us."
Soto's revenge on his return!
Boo me?
Well, boo hoo to you!
BACK TO BACK!
FRANK ... SMASH!!!!
Frankly ... Verdugo's drive was about 5 feet from being back to back to back to back
Now a shot for Torres!!!
ALL RISE!
2-0 Yankees.
Surely *someone* else must be up.
hey, team! remember me? if so, you *know* i love these late night west coast games as much as i imagine we all love soto!!!
NOSTRA LIVES!
What are YOU doing up???
Aaron should have just picked Soto up in a bear hug there and carried him away.
[198] uh, really? it's saturday night - VERY EARLY - on a holiday weekend, and i'm not gigging. I will go to sleep sometime between 4-5 in the morning! \m/
Well ... hot damn ...it's a Nostra and CoB game thread ... I'm DOWN!
Now ... we just need OK Jazz to stop by!
I guess I've been gone too long . . . I'm vampire boy!!!
How has your year gone?
What sort of gigging have you been getting?
Judge with a smoking double
[201] you rock, cult! i have loads to do as i watch the game on my iphone (mlb app).i'll keep checking in, but i don't think i'll be around constantly. we'll see...
so nice to be here though! and - judge - my goodness!!!
[203] i have permanent nerve damage in my right pinkie and can't really type much on my laptop, which is where the banter is open . . .
teaching mostly. my left shoulder is a mess ...
i'll probably text you in a bit to catch up more properly!
rizzo! very nice at-bat. i haven't heard all of the broadcasts last night and so far tonight... have they mentioned anthony's time in san diego at all?
not sure what the general consensus is 'round these parts, but i very much dig the 'name that yankee' trivia segment!
that said, there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason of what inning the question is posed and when it's answered...
[205] watch this when you need a short break ... silly baseball play
https://x.com/jared_carrabis/status/1794387697760661670?s=46&t=1kSI8HD_EsxkO1FH_nejAw
2 x 2 = 4!
Nice job, guys!
i approve of the 4-0 early lead!
and, whilst i kinda hate to admit it, 'dugie' (puke) is a really good ballplayer. apparently, he's an excllent *pitcher*, so i'm surprised it hasn't been talked about, especially when trevi was pitching...
[209] ooh, my docket of links and such is already overwhelming!
[209] If I told you it was scored 8 unassisted ... you can guess *what* happened ... but NEVER *how* it went down.
[212] it's less than a minute ... and the actual play is probably 1/4 of that ... the rest are replays.
[206] Yikes. Sheesh ... I understand ... my *right* pinky is essentially numb, except except when I sleep on my right arm wrong and wake up to the pinky leading the chorus screaming at me.
Stro Show!!!
[214] i hear you loud and clear, my friend
Let's hope Soto manages not to get thrown out this at bat.
nice makeup call on that (first) checked-swing
every soto a-b is an EVENT!!!
another 5 shutty for our starters!
6 shutty for The Stro Show!!!
Great 2 starts for Stroman ... let's hope the bully doesn't shiv him 2 starts in a row.
i love how stro's k:bb ratio was 5:1 and that his in-game whip below 1 (6 IP, 5 baserunners - 3 hits, 1 hbp, + aforementioned walk). 91 pitches, 2.76 ERA. leadoff triple, got out of it unscathed. finished the 6th, hugged boonie, then hi-fived his daughter at the end of the dugout (through the netting)!
Sigh ... bring on the fucking robot home plate umps.
i really dig dream weaver!
Whenever you find yourself dragging ... needing a bump as it were?
Cocaine Hippo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZ_QfdkejKU
I take the blame for that Tatis home run. When he came to bat I started looking back at the schedule to count how many scoreless innings the streak had gotten up to. The ball was out before I had my answer.
nice play, oswaldo!
no shutout, but let's keep this at 1 and win this series!
I give up on this site sometimes ... comments get put into moderation for NONSENSE.
Anyway ... I was trying to alert people to baseball theater [just Google it] ... which is a great site for up to date highlights, with NO ads.
[229] yeah, and every time you log in there's an immediate warning of the site not being protected. it's quite an uncomfortable feeling! : /
Uh oh ... Holmes on trying to save a great Stroman outing ... again.
That's MUCH better Clay!
Good night, Nostra ... let us text tomorrow and catch up, my friend!
Good night, all!
ballgame over. yankees win. thaaaaaaa yankees wiiin!!!
Finally, a game that’s not past my bed time. So the Yankees will lose.
These SD broadcasters are awful.
A run!
Walking Machado is not a bad thing.
That, however, is not.
Yuck
And worser.
Jeebus, snakebit
This is stupid. Angels are at home today. Both the Yankees and Angels are off tomorrow, Memorial Day. Then they play three in Anaheim. Why not play Monday and have Thursday for traveling?
Yup, knew it, my fault.
Our long national nightmare is over, Angel Hernandez has retired. And Country Joe is gone too.
Soto goes solo.
pillar. I hate that fucking asshole.
Judge missed it by *that* much.
2-2
I'll take the weirdo combo
WTF was that send?
I swear ... the Yankees hire 3rd base coaches possessed by the reckless, indifferent WWI generals ...
Hooray for late night west coast games! : )
Finally, a hit drops for Wells! He’s been hitting the ball so well for so long, with not a lot to show for hit.
Gleyber with more boneheaded baserunning. I know nothing, but it seems as though Gleyber is lifting his front leg as soon as the pitcher releases the ball and just stands there completely off balance through his swing, which can generate no power or bat control. Is there anything to that?
Soto + Judge = Wowie Zowie!!
Gleyber with more boneheaded baserunning
The HELL Nostra?
Gleyber wasn't standing in the 3rd base coaching box waving HIMSELF home.
That's pure 3rd base coach.
Also ... HI!
I’m still in the studio and just watching here and there…
We need to *destroy* Strickland when he comes in from the ‘pen. We’ll most likely see Hamilton out of ours later.
I love how it’s Yankee Stadium West there and DJ got a rather huge ovation before his first AB!
Big G has now homered in all 30 ball parks. Soto wants to do the same and is 3 away… ChiSox, Rangers, Mariners. He should get that after he signs a 10-12 year deal with the pinstripers!!!
Oh, yeah ... as a long time SoCal resident ... Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Stadium is a very good away ballpark.
Nice, cult!
[256]
How are the ouchies and owies treating you tonight?
Good job, Tommy Tightpants with the high socks, and nice play, DJ!
[259] Well ... no longer ... now I live in Texas. Not sure they like Yankees very much around these parts ...
Doin’ alright at the moment, thanks! Shoulder rehab last night was brutal, but it eased up throughout the teaching day. Finally about to leave the studio!
Yes, I know you’re in Tex-Ass! : p
Plus, I’m on my phone typing with opposable thumbs, so I don’t have to worry about the laptop keyboard and the shift key for my right pinkie!
Very nice, Dream Weaver!
Willie can bang, as Boonie would say. Hopefully, Luis bangs into a DP!!
2nd game in a row for Rizzo.
I'm beginning to think that letting him play with post-concussion symptoms for 3 months last year was NOT the brightest idea in the world.
With this historic pitching and a great lineup, it seems like the defense has been shockingly inconsistent.
I can't tell you how much I hate the Angels.
Fucking bollocks
[268] It's REALLY rather impressive ... the Yankees turned one of their best hitters in the beginning stages of last year into the worst hitter in baseball in 2023 from the time of his concussion until they FINALLY figured it out ... 3 months later ... and for an encore ... Rizzo is now essentially the worst hitter in MLB against LHP in 2024.
Bravo.
Sad trombone.
Hatelos : (
If the Yankees didn't want to lose, they should have done better ... from the error ... to the TURRIBLE send ... the Angels just decided to accept the gift.
Yup…
[271] Okay, but that's not really what I was talking about. It just seems like the defense has coughed up more games than you'd expect. According to Baseball Savant they're in the top quarter of the league, ranking seventh in outs above average and runs prevented, but that's obviously over the entire season. Their miscues seem to have come at inopportune times. I realize that official scorers seem to have lost their minds, making earned vs. unearned runs even more subjective than it's always been, but the Yankees have allowed more unearned runs than all but a handful teams. It's just weird to me.
Thirty minutes after the game the official scorer changed Rizzo's play from an error to a hit, which is ridiculous. Thirty minutes after the game.
Well ... THAT was a rather ridiculous 1st inning.
THANKS, BLUE!
Wow ... Willie Calhoun is hitting cleanup for the Angels.
Rizzo should be sitting against LHP, especially since Oontz is now healthy.
"But the drop-off in performance against southpaws has not just been severe. It’s been untenable.
Against righties, Rizzo has been excellent, posting a .295/.359/.492 slash line. If those numbers hold, it would be Rizzo’s best performance against right-handers as a Yankee in each category. Against lefties, however, he is slashing just .173/.232/.173.
Among 162 qualified hitters this season, the lowest OPS belongs to Rizzo’s former Yankee teammate Andrew Benintendi, pulling up the rear with a .494 mark. Rizzo’s OPS against lefties? .405. When facing southpaws, Rizzo has been much worse than the worst hitter in baseball."
https://www.pinstripealley.com/2024/5/22/24161958/yankees-analysis-anthony-rizzo-platoon-splits-lefty-dj-lemahieu-first-base
Holy moly ... listen to Kay dropping the advanced metrics ... ERA+ now!
Volpe! [please be okay...]
Yankees are gonna sweep the May Player of the Month awards.
Great start by Gil! I can't believe how few runs our offense has scored in Anaheim, I mean Los Angeles, I mean fuck the halos.
Ooh, Gil out for the 8th!
nice play, dugie! he's good out there. solo homer tonight, too!
volpe seems fine after his collision/slide at 3rd, which turned into a homer!
Gil is pretty amazing to watch.
Gil's night is done. 8 IP, 9 K, 2 BB, 2 H, 1 R (HR), 95 pitches.
.199 ERA
just seeing the boone ejection on the infield fly rule, which led to the soto interference call. umpires really fucking suck. there was also a brutal strike three call on verdugo before that was eleventy feet outside. angel should have taken loads of his buddies with him on his forced retirement.
ooh, and now a bullshit strike call on stanton on a 3-0 count. of course, he banged into a double play right after. should have been 1st and 2nd with 1 out. fucking umps...
jesus fucking christ. this again?!
got the dp. please win the game right here and now. please. and thank you.
whew. and: WAHOO!!!
according to Katie Sharp, Gil, who had 44K and an ERA of 0.70, is the only pitcher in Yankees *history* with 40+ K and an ERA below 0.75.
wowie zowie!
he also went 6-0 with a 0.67 WHIP in May
Yankees have managed to barrel 4 balls through the 1st 2 innings with NOTHING to show for it.
Ooops.
These Angels announcers are the worst. The PxP guy keeps pronouncing it RO-don, even though they’ve got Rodón on the screen and even though he certainly has a pronunciation guide in front of him.
Could be worse ... could still have Rex Hudler in the booth.
Yeesh.
ALL RISE!
Our Captain is a comedian. As soon as he connects like that, I cackle and clap!!
Judge tied Hip-Hop Jorge with that dinger.
275 for our Captain!
Hey ... look ... it's our fearless leader .. with an article!
https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/movies/g60703067/best-sports-documentaries/
Once again, not sure how folks feel, but I love Name That Yankee! Always look forward to it! : )
Yup, saw AB’s article on social media!
Has anybody else heard about, or seen ... THIS new doc on Peacock?
https://nypost.com/2024/05/16/sports/explosive-bronx-zoo-docuseries-on-1990-yankees-debuts-on-peacock/
HI NOSTRA!!!!
Hey, Cult! Yes, I believe it’s Joel Sherman’s doc. I wanna see it!
Hey ... Billy Crystal's only *mostly* dead!
It is annoying ... the Yankees keep barreling this guy up and getting nothing from it.
I'm SO much happier with 2024 Version Rodon
Billy was good! And Rodón is a billion times better than the last time he pitched in this ballpark for us
YES! I can actually *watch* him pitch now
Damnit, Gleyber!
[313] He honestly was ... I retract my snark ... it turned out MUCH better than I anticipated.
PHEW ... that was nearly a great play by the Angels
Nice, Kid!
Gotta love the based loaded bass on balls!
Alright, even younger kid, let’s extend your streak NOW!
A walk's not as good as a hit ... but it's still a good thing!
See?
Good thing!
Thank you, may I have another!
Well, at least his on base streak is still alive!
Keep the line movin’, fellas!
SOTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
WOW!!! Blank check
Soto abused a couple of baseballs and got nothing ... but gets a 3 run triple out of that.
LOL.
Soto fucking RULES!!!
pillar the asshole strikes again. grrrrrr.... What up, thelarmis!?
Strikeout, walk, double play incoming
Just Fair!
There’s the first part!
O’Hoppe’s from Weet Islip and grew up a Yanks fan (methinks)
Wee Willie!
I’ll take the two Ks, but The Ferg and Victor have not been good…
I’m overly invested in the starting pitcher streak.
Ha! (On the Wee Willie) I had a comment in moderation last night, so I apologize if I messed up the numbers…
Me too, Hank!
And there it goes.
I hate the fucking angels.
When it was 7-1 I was hoping they’d pull Rodón just to keep it alive.
No one hates the Angels like I hate the Angels.
I am NOT exactly enthusiastic with our bullpen this season
Fuck The Ferg!
Nice AB, DJ!
Good on you, Gleyber!
Did anyone see Gary’s game winning homer to dead center earlier today? That was really nice and I’m glad he’s wearing #99 for Judgey, but I hate the giant wad of tobacco he was chewing. Gross!
Got a run back!
As I was saying ...
I am NOT exactly enthusiastic with our bullpen this season
But that will do.
Very nice, Tommy Tightpants!
While I’m not an NBA fan … GO MAVS!!!
Michael Tonkin ... is his middle name "Fungible"?
Tonkin Trucks
Really shitty news about Clarke… : (
Wait ... what news?
Just the strain or something else new ... news???
Congrats to Fungi for closing it out.
Cue John Sterling & Frank Sinatra!!
Let’s head to NorCal and win the series in SF!!!
See y'all tomorrow night ... assuming I can stay awake.
Fungii Mama by Blue Mitchell !!!
Cueing Jazz Tokyo!
Oh, I’ll be awake!!!
