A federal judge ruled in favor of Maurice Clarett yesterday, stating that the NFL’s policy prohibiting young players from entering the draft violates anti-trust laws. The NFL will appeal the decision but it’s likely to stand. I’m not especially fond of Mike Lupica’s work anymore–though I grew up on the stuff–but I think he hits the nail on the head this morning.
