Raw celery is fine. Great with chicken wings. But I have no use for it in dishes. It doesn't meld with other flavors like onion, and peppers do. It's like "I'm celery, I'm here, deal with it, or pick around me."
Fuck celery.
i am, by far, the worst food guy on this blog. funny, how i dig celery!
i think i'm partial to it 'coz of my grandma's old homemade chicken soup. best jewish grandma chicken soup new york ever tasted! i think the inherently distinct flavor of celery made it stand out to me as an integral ingredient of her homemade goodness. then again, it was probably the love from her fingertips that made it soooo good! : )
haha - sliced bread hating celery seems to fit somehow
just had a slice (i almost always get fresh mozzarella or just plain but went for sausage/pepperoni today - quite good) - pretty good joint near my work
Recently got the Chanterelle (downtown institution) cookbook and Chef David Waltuck is another celery hater. He just leaves it out of his mirepoix. A more distressing fact is that several of his assistants wear Mets hats in the kitchen. I like celery but if I've already started cooking I'm not gonna stop and run to the store if I don't find some in the fridge.
Chicken w/ cashew nuts (no celery please) , brown rice, egg drop zoup.
Celery does nothing for Chinese food in my opinion.
I know a few foodies who really dislike celery which cracks me up. I don't mind celery but it is a distinct flavor.
I wish I was in Chinatown or out in Flushing. Be good to grab a bite of lunch there.

Score.
Yeah, but the onions, carrots and celery, how do you cook without them?
Peas on Earth ...

How funny - we just had a hot dog cart pull into our parking lot. He asked the other day if he could set up shop, how could I say no?
I'd take Hebrew Nationals over Sabretts, though.
The only time I ever have a hot dog is at a ballgame ....
Friday is my 'cheat' day - went with a cheeseburger & fries plate from the Cosmic Diner on W. 31st St.
