Beat of the Day

Think we need to double-up here as we shake rump to New Orleans funk:

Here goes my favorite version of a N.O. standard. Never fails to get me movin! (Man, to be able to whistle like that…)

Professor Longhair rocks so hard he just woke up my baby daughter, who is in the next room, despite the fact that I'm listening to him on headphones. Perhaps I should have stayed away from this one (my favorite): "Hey Little Girl".

i've played at one of the Tipitina's before. i also played a festival in N.O. called the "Jeff Fest", a dozen years ago. Neville Brothers headlined that show. my trio plays a coupla Meters tunes. Zigaboo is unreal!!!

My Gosh, Alex, you are really rockin' this week! I can only wish the Saints had won the Stupor Bowl sooner. Except then I wouldn't have been able to listen online at Bronx Banter. Fess is one of my favorites, and yes, Cliff, "Hey Little Girl" is my #1 of his, too. When they use that in "Dead Poets' Society" is one of the great musical moments in film.

I'm really diggin' this, Alex. It's very cool.

Oh, and not for nothing, but I can whistle like that. I can cover about two octaves whistling. My poor wife can barely make a note.
