Blizzard

Welp, the Weatherman wasn’t messin’ around about this one. Woke up this morning to see the Bronx covered in snow.

I have the day off anyhow. Was supposed to go to, get this, Vermont, of all places. Actually, not supposed to go up until tomorrow and it should be fine by the afternoon.

In the meantime, “Snow day with the wife, snow day with the wife.”

I’ll be back with more beats, art, and yes, even baseball, throughout the day.

Y’all stay safe now.

[1] good luck cmw - i was hoping he would end up with the dodgers once it became clear he wasn't coming back to the yanks

[2] good luck down there dimelo.

i'm at work. sounds like we are getting out early though.
i figured the train would be a lot less crowded with no school, courts, etc. today but it was the usual 6 train pain.

[3] I'll be back at home tomorrow, not like I'll be escaping any snow anyway. Though on Friday I might have to head into the office and take the pain in the ass 4/5, that's usually a pain for me. I think the 4/5/6 has more rude people than any other line in the city. Maybe cause I grew up taking the A or 1 that I feel the people there are much nicer.

I'm at work too ...

I got in at 9:15 for usual Wednesday 10am meeting (and basically only reason to show up today given the weather), to find out that it was cancelled at 9:03. sigh ...

[1] That park might be good for Wang - good luck to him. If he's actually ready for Opening Day though, I'll be very surprised.

It just started snowing here, southwest of Boston, and we are supposed to get hammered this afternoon, just in time for the evening commute. I am working from home as a result, and I think most people who can, are. They want to avoid what happened a couple of years ago, when a heavy snowstorm that was going to happen during the evening commute resulted in everyone - schools, government, businesses - sending everyone home early, at the literal same time. People were stuck in traffic for hours; some school kids didn't get home until after 9PM. It was a nightmare.

So long Chien-Ming Wang.
Thanks fer all the groundballs, and wins.
I enjoyed rooting for him, and watchiing him work.

Snow day in the cubicle for me. Would much rather be home with the wife and kids. Weekday snow days sure ain't what they used to be.

when i took the a or the d/q it was much better.

[5] that sucks

[6] good call shaun

Hold the phone on CMW to the Nats, apparently ...

8:59am: MASN's Ben Goessling tweets that Wang is still seven to ten days from a decision. MLB.com's Bill Ladson tweets that nothing is close between the Nationals and Wang, though they remain a finalist.

starting off snowday moviefest with a little Dark Knight action, maybe follow it up with some Casino or Departed as per yesterday's Marty conversation

Best of luck to CMW. The worms at Yankee Stadium are all breathing a little easier.

[0] Snow day with the wife -- I expect no updates throughout the day from you.

I actually have to go in at noon :-( but it is better than previous years when 8" of snow didn't close down the university. At least I got to sleep in with the hounds.

[4], [8] It probably doesn't help that the cars on the 4/5/6 are so much narrower.
