i really like this cezanne piece.
i'm not a huge still life person - but this is one still life i really like.
i like the contrast of the bright, defined fruit against the more impressionist background.

I like the cuddly quality it has, which quality reminds me of some of Paul Klee's work, those cute little people of his.

Sorry to lowbrowify this highbrow thread, but I just have to mention this.
For years New England had one sports radio station, WEEI, which is excruciating, moronic, and other foul things I won't bother to articulate. Now there's a competitor, The Sports Hub, a CBS affiliate, which is imperfect but salutary by its mere competitive presence. The morning show today had a segment in which the caller got to listen to a five second sound byte and had to determine whether it was (i) John Lackey, or (ii) a muppet. It was a very good segment. There was a Fozzie Bear and a Grover and, of course, some Lackeys. At the end they patched together some Lackey into a very creditable version of Manamana. Inspired. These morning guys are going to wipe the floor with Dennis and Callahan.

Is sports talk radio as bad these days as it was when i left the US 13 years ago? Worse?

And on that note, was apalled to see the Sports Guy compare Tiger Woods to Muhammad Ali..I mean, really...used to really enhoy his columns but anything beyond his NBA stuff is pretty bad now.

i like this painting a lot. reminds me a bit of my great grandmother's style. i have 3 of her paintings hanging in my house. she was simply called "Ma". i never met her, but my first name in Hebrew is after her.
