“Look,” Mark Teixeira says. “It’s really kind of simple. If you don’t want to play in front of 50,000 people every single game, if you don’t want the energy of the best city in the world behind you every day, good or bad, and if you don’t want to be in a position where you can win a championship … well, then you probably shouldn’t play in New York.”
Tex has the pander down pat. The guy does everything well.
Take that, Baltimore!
If the Yankees want 50,000 people at every single game, they have to stop charging over a grand for a primo seat.
but Tex's pernt stands.
whoa: i just saw a Rob Gee post at nomaas! talk about a blast from the past...
[4] Yeah, but he didn't say MIL-TON or CASH-MAN even once! He's still got snark, tho...
[1] .... except hit in the post-season!
[6] Zing!
[6] Awww, let's not start that again. Dude had a walk-off homer in the ALDS. That wasn't nothing.
I'll take my chances with Teix.
[8] He also had a big HR against Pedro...if the Yankees don't score there, who knows how that game turns out. I think he also had a hit and scored on Alex' HR off Nathan. Tex didn't hit much in the post season, but he had some big ones.
Not just 50,000 fans, but 50,000 screaming die-hard fanatics who really know good baseball and demand nothing less...who wouldn't want that? ;-)
i had problems posting links here a few days ago. i'll try it in the next post, but just in case...
there's a good interview w/ mark newman, by john sickels, at minorleaguebaseball.com

It's true he got some big hits ... I got no problem with Tex, probably because they won it all. Things may have looked a little different for him otherwise.
[14] Really... who are we kidding? Let's just admit our mistake and bring back the 'Big G'!
[15] ???
Tex's goggles are still really lame though..
