My friend was a big Mets fan, so I had to watch and hear a lot of Mets games when Kiner was broadcasting. The guy was a great hitter, but not so good if front of the mic.

I remember one call really well.....
........
.... Kranepool digs in
.... and the pitch
.... IT'S HIT DEEP
.... down the line
.... is it fair or is it foul
.... and
.....
THE POLE HITS THE BALL....
THE POLE HITS THE BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[1] Man, I'd love that over "IT IS HIGH, IT IS FAR, IT IS... CAUGHT in front of the centerfield wall..."

...or

"A high pop up to shallow centerfield... Cano races back, and now the wind is carrying the ball as Gardner races back, a waaaay back, he's at the wall, he leaps... IT'S GONE! Sssssee-ya!"
