Wow, the A-Gon trade is looking very doubtful due to Theo's unwillingness to extend Adrian's contract for as long as he wanted.
Their deadline is passed. It's not clear whether there's a lot of interest in trying again. Also, the Sox could take the trade anyway, without the extension, but that seems like a non-starter from Boston's point of view.
Man, Peyton just doesn't look like Peyton these days.
[4] FanGraphs says he's werth it, too! (You wait a long time to use that line, so gotta jump on it when the opportunity comes.)
I'll keep an eye on Pete Abe, I bet he'll be on top of the A-Gon trade situation.
[5] i like werth. i hope he does well. he's already 31; late bloomer. his new home park is a lot more spacious. who knows how that will affect not only his homerun totals, but also his arm, which has been a strength for him...
hey man, hope you had a great time in NY. my mom had a 6-pack for me from the bar harbor brewery in maine. i think it was called their Lighthouse Ale, or something like that. good beer. nothing special, but i enjoyed 'em.
ps - thanks for the birthday wishes. hope all is well with you and yours!
Carl Crawford can start game three?
no one loves to rip on Lupica more than I, but his remembrance of Elaine Kaufmann in today's News is pretty great: http://nydn.us/gC85AM

holy crap - Werth signed with the Nationals for 7 years, $126 mil. (mlbtr)
[3] yeah, i keep seeing things like: 'a-gon trade is dead. not gonna happen. though, it can change quickly and happen!' oy : ~

Thanks, thelarmis! Yes, it's true, the Lighthouse Ale is fine but nothing special. The dark beers are the memorable ones.
I like Werth, but I like him like I like Swish, not like $18M x 6 years.
... or x 7 years. Wow.
Also: Peyton Manning might need glasses or something. Four picks today, including an OT pick that handed the game to the Cowboys!
