Yo Chyll, saw your comment about the Te-Amo signs, happy to hear they are still there! Be a shame if Hudson Newsstands were all that existed these days..or have they not penetrated into the boroughs yet?
The only Hudson Newsstands I've seen outside of Manhattan are at the airports. I'm sure there are more Optimos than Te-Amos (the one I'm thinking about is near Carnegie Hall). Could've sworn I'd seen a Te-Amo shop in the Bronx. I'll let you know; the city's been changing fast the last few years.
[6] uh, i wouldn't know. been dealing with my auto. starter has been dying on me. i was stranded at the studio. AAA wouldn't get me, NO cabs running, no one at the studio. it was nightmarish. i'm all set now.
i've been shoveling 3 inches of pure ice off my walkway and driveway, which don't get sun. i feel like a cripple in pain!
[8] yes, total weather wimps down here. but, to be honest, the roads have been absolutely horrible and very very dangerous. i live on a neglected cul-de-sac, off a side street with a steep hill. it's been nightmarish round these parts. the mailman couldn't even make it here for 3 days...
yeah, it was Friday night and AAA was done. they didn't even work on Mon & Tues. car shops were closed. some kind of big convention/mart going on downtown and ALL the cabs were delayed for hours. i have a 70-yr old Jewish cabbie friend from Brooklyn and he was not only too busy to get me, but wouldn't venture to my studio location 'coz of all the damn ice.
[10] i was taking care of car stuff and missed the posts about your winter hat and the grammar two-spacing stuff (i'm a one-space kinda guy).
i though the hat was good. when my 6-yr old niece was visiting me a coupla weeks ago, she bought a cute giraffe hat that was the talk of the town everywhere we went. i've been rockin' the straight up Yankees interlocking NY hat.
C'mon man, really? >;)

Yeah, that's right, Hudsons are at airports all over America, actually.
[4] true dat.
[5] Yo!

as monkeypants will attest, beer is the solution!
Dang.
Why wouldn't AAA come get you? Oh, because there are three inches of snow and ice?
What weather wimps you guys are.
But I'm glad you're okay!
[6] i just turned on the game, 'coz it turns out that an old dear friend of mine was one of the singers performing the national anthem. good stuff!
First game was good though the Ravens shit the bed in the second half. The Steelers are good but the Ravens blew it.
