Isn't She Loverly?

The L.A. Times Magazine has a photo gallery of the 50 most beautiful women in film:

Plenty of hits and misses in there.

Where are these lovelies?

I was losing my mind on the order of this list.

And then I realized it was in alphabetical order.

Ava Gardner, Salma Hayek, and Sophia Loren would all vie for my top spot, but how can you leave Ingrid Bergman off the list completely?

[2] I actually like Halle Berry and Marilyn. I'm not sure Bassinger, Lively and Connelly (all beautiful women) belong at all though..

I was actually about to complain about Michelle Pfeffer not being on there, but I found her. She jumps towards the top of my list.

I had the biggest crush on Michelle Pfieffer dating back from "Scarface" through the "Baker Boy" years. "Married to the Mob"...swoon. Cause she's funny too.

She'll always be Catwoman to me.

Although I'd like to see what Anne Hathaway does in that role. That has the potential to be awesome.

Natalie Wood. Man oh man.

this list is incomplete and illegit without Winslet.

7) Agreed.

uch, no Bernadette Peters either? Totally illegit. She's the big screen definition of beautiful and funny.

Basinger might be my lifetime favorite, but there have to thousands of better photos of her. They didn't chose the best pix to support this list at all.

[7] & [8]

Hey, I'm a chick and even *I* agree with that statement.

Glad (yet not surprised) to see Grace Kelly & Audrey Hepburn on the list. True classic beauties in every definition.

Not so sure why Beyonce is on there. Sure, she's beautiful, but I don't think she's got enough film cred to warrant a place on that list, especially considering she's a singer first. Just my $.02.

Kim Basinger circa "Nine 1/2 Weeks"

Michelle Pfeiffer. That is all. Grease 2 baby! : )

[11] Va-voom!

[3] [10] Similarly to Beyonce, I'm not sure that Blake Lively has the film career to merit inclusion on the list. Both are absolutely beautiful, but a few more films first, please.

I can't fathom how Annette Benning didn't make the list over either of them.

Beyonce and Blake are there because they must have good agents.

they also forgot Demi Moore. She had a run from '84 to '94 where she was arguably the hottest woman in film. Not sure she's top 50 all-time, but definitely more worthy of consideration than others on the list.

Haven't checked the list yet but Rita Hayworth better be on there! Also, hope they bring the international lovelies too, Gong Li from China, Kyo Machiko from Japan, and Aisrhwarya Rai from India!

Plenty of misses indeed. Raquel Welch and Scarlett Johansson come to mind right off the bat.

No Katherine Ross? That's just criminal. She's unspeakably beautiful. Not to mention she was the girl in both The Graduate and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Cruel.

19 Boatzilla   ~  Feb 8, 2011 8:57 pm

Damn. No one compares to Liz in her prime, and no one ever will. The very definition of beauty.

20 Raf   ~  Feb 8, 2011 11:32 pm

I'm surprised Gina Lollobrigida didn't make it.

21 Boatzilla   ~  Feb 9, 2011 12:10 am

[18] Yes Katherine Ross. And where the hell is Ingrid Bergman? The result of the poll are shocking, IMHO. Farrah had something special, but she doesn't belong at the top.

Am I the only man who doesn't get Angina Jolie?. Does nothing for me. Never has.

22 Raf   ~  Feb 9, 2011 1:14 am

[21] Angelina Jolie and Julia Roberts. I just don't see what the big deal is.

23 Boatzilla   ~  Feb 9, 2011 2:22 am

[22] Yes, I agree. Was afraid to mention Julia, as she seems to have become royalty in the USA.

I guess they picked Alicgraw over Katherine Ross. Yeah, no Ingrid Bergman is just weird.
