Yeah, it’s cold again in New York, but their is plenty of hot air about C.C. Sabathia keeping heads busy down in Florida. Hey, Sabathia might opt out of his deal at the end of the year: Oh, word?
Meanwhile, George King has a piece on A.J. Burnett:
“Last year it really hit me how important I am to this team,” Burnett said yesterday on the way out of George M. Steinbrenner Field.
“I am not saying that we didn’t win the World Series because of me, but I know if I had been right, it would have been a lot easier chore. I never knew how important I was to a team. That’s not being cocky or arrogant, it’s the way it is. I mean, what did I do to help?”
King also reports that Joba Chamberlain is ready to step up to Brian Cashman’s challenge.
Anyone else going to give CC those dollars?
Cold this a.m., but supposed to warm up by the weekend, with rain not snow.
bags thinks it is pretty funny that A.J. is referring to himself in the third person.
bags thinks maybe this is a good sign A.J.'s got a little bit of his edge back.
A.J's groove?
“Last year it really hit me how important I am to this team,” Burnett said yesterday on the way out of George M. Steinbrenner Field.
=================
The 5 year, $82.5 mill didn't say that to you already?
good to establish some memes nice and early.
the warm-up at the end of the week is going to be nice.
5) check your contract. You might be able to opt out of the memes. My deal requires me to pick two memes, and ride them through the end of the postseason. But I still have time before I have to declare my 2011 memes. So many good ones to select from.
Who is more anti-meme than Auntie Mame?
[6] yes, my agent negotiated that i could opt out of the memes.
[8] always knew you were smarter than me. I was my own agent and therefore had a fool for a client.
[9] :} at least you didn't have to give up 5% of your salary to rott horas.
I think the Meme is staying at the Sheraton ...
Diane, how did you like the debut of Watson last night?
[12]
It displayed more personality than Ken Jennings :-)
Its an interesting demonstration/exercise, that I think would flow better on something like NOVA.
I thought it was awesome.
The amazing thing, of course, is not how much trivia the thing knows, but how good it is at understanding the questions (or 'answers').

AGREED .... the understanding of sentence structure, and ability to parse out words that have multiple meanings and put them in proper context (for the most part)
