Million Dollar Movie

This is next on my list of movies to see. From the director of “The Station Agent.”

Great cast. The Station Agent and The Visitor were both great.

The next movie I *have* to see is Jane Eyre, which is cool as it's supposed to be an excellent version. Mia Wasikowska (The Kids Are All Right) is fine with me, and I score big points by taking my wife. Win win.

First time posting here. Over the off-season, this site has become one of my favorites, in both the Yankee and Non-Yankee categories. Thanks to everyone involved for the fun, entertainment, and insight.

A late friend of mine was art director on The Station Agent and The Visitor . . I wonder if he would have worked on this movie as well. I sure do miss him.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention; looking forward to seeing it.

A little nostalgia, anyone?

Paul Giamitti is the eff'in man! I always enjoy how plain and unassuming he seems; then you see his work and you are blown away with how much better he is than everyone else.

I second that emotion.

I saw "Paul" over the weekend (I'm a Simon Pegg fan). Nowhere near as good as "Shaun of the Dead" or "Hot Fuzz", but amusing in spots.

[5] I'll have to check it out - enjoyed both of those and I like Greg Mottola's films, especially Adventureland.

6) Game thread above.

7) Adventureland left me flat--especially Ryan Reynolds who I thought was badly miscast--but I really enjoyed "The Station Agent." This new one has a great cast, though. Jeffrey Tambour!

[8] The thing I loved about Adventureland is that it actually nailed the era. Every other 80s set piece I see totally over-sells the concept. Adventureland actually felt like 1987 as it was, not as how some 22 year old imagines it was. As for Reynolds, I go back and forth, Alex. The last time I watched it, I felt his general unctuousness suited the character. I'm wondering what else about it you disliked or if it was more a general "Eh, so what?" type of reaction.

Hey, Burt Young is in Win Win, too. He lives somewhere in my area.

9) I just thought Reynolds had a juicy little role and could have nailed it like Matt McC in "Dazed and Confused" or Ray Liotta in "Something Wild" but I just didn't think there wasn't anything there there. As for the movie it was more, "Eh, so what?" I didn't dislike it just don't recall anything sticking with me about it either.
