Lots of dirt flying through the air in Texas, right? Must have stalled out the engine. I think it'll be clear tonight (I hope).

2 a.O   ~  May 12, 2011 7:05 pm

Let's just hope we don't need to see Amauri Sanit tonight.

3 RIYank   ~  May 12, 2011 7:11 pm

[2] Had to look that up.
Awesome name. Anagrams: Anti-samurai, and A Sanitarium.

4 rbj   ~  May 12, 2011 7:11 pm

[2] Unless we're up 15 - 0 so Joe runs him out there to get his feet wet.

5 rbj   ~  May 12, 2011 7:19 pm

Phew!

6 RIYank   ~  May 12, 2011 7:20 pm

[4] Bud wouldn't be too happy if Joe did that.

I like watching Nova games. Something graceful about him.

7 RIYank   ~  May 12, 2011 7:22 pm

Way to work the pitch count, guys.

8 RIYank   ~  May 12, 2011 7:30 pm

Not liking so much anymore.

9 rbj   ~  May 12, 2011 7:30 pm

Oh great, it's going to be one of those games

10 randym77   ~  May 12, 2011 7:31 pm

Uh, boy. This has been a pretty ugly series.

11 Shaun P.   ~  May 12, 2011 7:33 pm

The gears clearly slipped. Yikes.

12 Shaun P.   ~  May 12, 2011 7:37 pm

If the Yanks get out of this with only 2 runs allowed, that's pretty good.

13 rbj   ~  May 12, 2011 7:38 pm

I think the Royals have stolen the Score Truck.

14 RIYank   ~  May 12, 2011 7:38 pm

Holy smokes.

15 Shaun P.   ~  May 12, 2011 7:39 pm

[12] If the Yanks get out of this with only 23 runs allowed, that's pretty good.

16 rbj   ~  May 12, 2011 7:40 pm

Jeebus, everything that can go wrong, is.

17 Shaun P.   ~  May 12, 2011 7:41 pm

[15] If the Yanks get out of this with only 2 3 4 runs allowed, that's pretty good.

18 rbj   ~  May 12, 2011 7:42 pm

Everything.

19 randym77   ~  May 12, 2011 7:42 pm

Arrrgggghhhhh.

20 RIYank   ~  May 12, 2011 7:43 pm

Jeez, I feel bad for Nova.

21 RIYank   ~  May 12, 2011 7:44 pm

Good thing Hosmer hit that rally-killing home run to start the inning.

22 Shaun P.   ~  May 12, 2011 7:45 pm

[17] If the Yanks get out of this with only 2 3 4 5 runs . . . ah, screw it.

This is not good.

23 a.O   ~  May 12, 2011 7:45 pm

That was some pathetic defense.

24 Shaun P.   ~  May 12, 2011 7:48 pm

[20] And after he got himself out of trouble so well in the first, too.

25 a.O   ~  May 12, 2011 7:52 pm

Remember when Swisher could hit?

26 rbj   ~  May 12, 2011 7:58 pm

Amazing story.

27 OldYanksFan   ~  May 12, 2011 8:04 pm

Well... 3 ER for Nova.

28 randym77   ~  May 12, 2011 8:13 pm

I cannot believe we're being beat by the likes of Melky and Frenchy.

29 RIYank   ~  May 12, 2011 8:13 pm

Ummm.

Good for Melk?

30 rbj   ~  May 12, 2011 8:13 pm

[27] 4 now.

Is there a hit store in the Bronx? Yankees need to go out and buy a hit.

31 Mattpat11   ~  May 12, 2011 8:17 pm

So this could be going better

32 rbj   ~  May 12, 2011 8:25 pm

finally something to cheer.

33 William J.   ~  May 12, 2011 8:33 pm

Forget the score truck...i think the entire Yankees Universe has been blown to bits by a less than super Nova.

34 Marek   ~  May 12, 2011 8:33 pm

Good picture for this game. The score truck has been stripped.

I'm out, I drink too much as it is. Can't watch.

35 Shaun P.   ~  May 12, 2011 8:35 pm

We can't even claim URP - Sullivan faced the Yanks twice last summer.

A hit, a hit, this pen sitting near me on my desk for a hit!

36 randym77   ~  May 12, 2011 8:35 pm

Can't pin it all on Nova, poor kid.

37 Shaun P.   ~  May 12, 2011 8:37 pm

[36] Yep. This is a team effort.

38 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 12, 2011 8:50 pm

Wait..losing 8-1 to the Royals? This is never acceptable. Never!!

39 Shaun P.   ~  May 12, 2011 8:51 pm

They're alive!!!!

40 randym77   ~  May 12, 2011 8:51 pm

[38] Cheer up. It was 8-0 until a minute ago. Robby broke up the perfect game.

41 OldYanksFan   ~  May 12, 2011 8:52 pm

Anyone notice that Gritner makes good contact a lot?
His OPS is now .772.

42 Shaun P.   ~  May 12, 2011 8:53 pm

[41] Yes. If he would stop bunting, he'd be doing A-OK.

43 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 12, 2011 8:55 pm

Walked him! Ok, now according to MLB player Jeff Francouer, what we do NOT want here is a home-run to break up the rally..so, a bllop single please, Frankie Brains!

44 OldYanksFan   ~  May 12, 2011 8:57 pm

A GRAND DOUBLE!!!!!!!!

45 Shaun P.   ~  May 12, 2011 8:59 pm

C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, let's go Score Truckin'!

46 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 12, 2011 9:01 pm

JUST got under it..but that's OK, got 4 back. They're going to win this game!

47 OldYanksFan   ~  May 12, 2011 9:01 pm

Sorry... can't get excited by Jeter's sac fly there. We needed a hit.

48 Shaun P.   ~  May 12, 2011 9:02 pm

[47] OYF - Jeter hit the ball in the air. I'll take it.

Its not like the Royals have a killer bullpen - plenty of time to get another 5 runs.

49 randym77   ~  May 12, 2011 9:05 pm

OMG. It's Sanit.

50 William J.   ~  May 12, 2011 9:05 pm

[41] Gardner is definitely a different hiiter than he was just 2 years ago. Was never confident he would develop into a good offensive player, but now I think he will/has. If only he could learn to still bases now.

51 randym77   ~  May 12, 2011 9:10 pm

That was a double? Good gravy.

52 Shaun P.   ~  May 12, 2011 9:14 pm

Oh cripes, here we go with the bloody intentional walks again. I don't know what is worse on Girardi's part - his obsessive desire to get guys to bunt, or all these damn intentional walks.

And Cervelli makes us all wonder just how bad Montero would have to be behind the plate to be able to serve as the backup catcher.

[50] Combine that with his good-to-great defense, and low salary, and Gardner is a hell of a player. Very valuable.

53 randym77   ~  May 12, 2011 9:35 pm

There's an article about Andy Phillips in his local paper. He tells a story about how Roger Clemens bitched him out for not turning a DP. He descibes Clemens as "real competitive."

54 randym77   ~  May 12, 2011 9:37 pm

Geez, Melky's only been gone a couple of years, and they've forgotten how to spell his name.

55 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 12, 2011 9:45 pm

[53] "Real competitive" is news-print speak for "total asshole"?

56 randym77   ~  May 12, 2011 9:54 pm

[55] Hah. If so, then Chris Carpenter is really, really, competitive. And Carlos Zambrano is really, really, really competitive.

57 Boatzilla   ~  May 12, 2011 10:54 pm

It's official: the Yankees stink. Stink, stank, stunk.
