Diane hipped me to this fun list of movie tag lines.
“You are cordially invited to George and Martha’s for an evening of fun and games.”
“You don’t make up for your sins in church. You do it on the streets…”
“In space no one can hear you scream.”
“It’s a Strange World.”
“A Lot Can Happen In The Middle Of Nowhere.”
yeah, a lot of very clever ones in the 70s and 80s.
In the past decade or so taglines became punchlines
The one that cracked me up was "No goats, no glory" (Men Who Stare At Goats)
I liked the one for The Graduate, too.
"This is Benjamin. He's a little worried about his future."
The list doesn't show the image that went with the tagline in the movie poster, but it has to be that iconic seduction shot showing Benjamin and Mrs. Robinson's leg as she removes her stockings.
"This is the weekend they didn't play golf." - Deliverance
I'LL SAY!!
Hey, Alex, game thread time, no?
Carl Crawford just kept the game tied with a nice throw to the plate. Bedard doesn't look too good. But neither does Justin Masterson, who I expected to dominate the Red Sox.
[3] Ouch!!
I like "She did the laundry and washed the dishes. Now she's cleaning up the the streets!"
"Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot!" with Sly Stallone and Estelle Getty..comedy classic!
Cool list. Anyone know the line for Gloria. The good one with Gene Rowlands. I love that movie.
Here's a real bad one from a great flick, True Romance.
"Not since Bonnie and Clyde have two people been so good at being bad."
Man that stinks.
6) "She's tough...but she sides with the little guy. And she's out to beat the mob at their own game."
