One more thing... Cubs GM Hendry was fired last month, but stayed on to help sign this year's draft picks for the team and then officially announced his departure today. That was decent of him to stay on and help with signing draft picks, but not too sure how that really helps them since he obviously got fired for a reason. Anyway, the reason I bring this up is because the assistant replacing him on an interim basis is a certified Banter player-name favorite, particularly of our more (ahem) jocular brethren.

Team chairman Tom Ricketts says they will be looking outside the organization for a permanent replacement, but you can't really go wrong with the guy they have now if you're a sportswriter or a longtime Banterer, I suppose...
