[0] Yo, that poster is hysterical.
Let's Go Yankees!!

2 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 14, 2011 9:16 pm

It was a sticker, found on a pole outside my house in the BX.

3 Chyll Will   ~  Sep 14, 2011 9:35 pm

[2] It almost has your name on it...

4 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 14, 2011 9:39 pm

Don't I know it.

5 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 14, 2011 9:44 pm

Hey, just wondering but..is A-Rod still on the team?

6 Boatzilla   ~  Sep 14, 2011 9:49 pm

[5] He's 'posed to play on Friday, come hell or high water.

7 Boatzilla   ~  Sep 14, 2011 9:50 pm

We will need him for the playoffs, no doubt.

8 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:00 pm

[7] I'm on the Jesus-train. A-Rod is old news!! :)

9 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:06 pm

I'm still amused by more Kyle Bob Seger jokes. Let's hope he doesn 't hit any "Live Bullets"!

Ok, maybe that's enough Seger jokes..

10 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:12 pm

Cmon Captain, go McBain on this Vargas villian!

11 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:13 pm

This is amusing.
I figure at this rate Vargas should last about 1.2 innings.

12 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:15 pm

[9] No, the Banter is "Still The Same", the jokes will roll on. But I'm ready to "Turn the Page" on these West Coast games. It's putting a crimp on my "Night Moves".

Hopefully the Yankees will be "Like A Rock" in the AL East after tonight with a 5 game lead.

13 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:16 pm

Curtis' hit made a nice sound.

14 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:18 pm

Wow, 23 pitches in a 1-2-3 inning.

15 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:19 pm

[12] You are indeed a "Ramblin' Man" kenboyer.
Yanks are going to kick this guy's ass all the way to Katmandu!

16 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:21 pm

There's one thing Nuñez does better than A-Rod.

17 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:22 pm

Five pitches!!!
Damn.

Pitch count is the tie-breaker, in case they're scoreless after nine innings, right?

18 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:25 pm

[17]I thought it was pissing for distance?

19 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:30 pm

[18] Damn, I knew we should have held on to Farnsworth.

20 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:32 pm

[18] Do you mean pissing "Against The Wind" for distance?

21 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:35 pm

[19,20] Only "Lucifer" has a chance against Krazy Kyle.

22 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:37 pm

[21] I don't know about that. The Centaur has "The Fire Down Below", and might best that Farney

23 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:38 pm

[22] As long as they "Shakedown" afterwards..

24 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:39 pm

Big K.

25 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:40 pm

Big DP.

26 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:43 pm

[23] Oy.

Wasn't that pick-up and throw to second beautiful by Cano on that DP. It can't be measured, but smoothness has to count in perception.

27 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:44 pm

Big BB.

28 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:45 pm

[26] Ok, we reached the "Nutbush City Limits" on the Seger songs then.
C'mon Russell Coltrane!!

29 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:47 pm

Small K.

30 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:48 pm

Are you fucking kidding me? With one out?

Horrible. Incompetence.

31 T. Hawk   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:49 pm

Fire the OC! Ah shit, wait

32 T. Hawk   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:49 pm

I daresay Mr Jones slowed down there

33 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:51 pm

[30] I think I could beat Jones in a race, and he has a 20 year head start.

34 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:55 pm

I'm sure the Pedro Feliciano surgery is Joe Torre's fault

35 Just Fair   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:59 pm

Slick turn Robbie!

36 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 10:59 pm

Big GIDP.

37 Chyll Will   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:11 pm

G'nite folks!

38 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:12 pm

Seger must take sliding lessons from Posada.

39 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:13 pm

[37] Hitting the sack early? Not even midnight over there.

40 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:16 pm

What's with Nova all of a sudden?

41 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:17 pm

This game kind of sucks.
I mean, the base running/base coaching mistake, then the stupid steal by the M's, then they score anyway on a ridiculous WP.

I say we scrap this one and play two tomorrow.

42 Boatzilla   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:20 pm

Hold up, the Yankees have one stinkin' hit against this joker?

43 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:20 pm

New rule: if I get comment #42, that means Mariano closes.

44 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:21 pm

Damn!

45 Boatzilla   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:22 pm

[43] Sorry about that. I want Jackie to pinch hit.

46 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:23 pm

[45] I hear he's slowing down a little. I mean, probably not Andruw slow, but still.

47 Boatzilla   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:26 pm

[46] I just had an image of a baseball zombie movie.

48 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:27 pm

[47] Are you listening to Kay and Leiter?

49 Boatzilla   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:28 pm

I just switched from the Seattle broadcast. They were just talking about Money Ball. What did I miss?

50 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:31 pm

Nothing, really. They were talking about movies, you were talking about zombie movies, so I just wondered if you were listening to them.

Jon Weisman loves Moneyball. (The movie, I mean.) I think my tastes might be closer to his than to Al's.

51 Just Fair   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:34 pm

Vargas!

52 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:35 pm

I think we've gotten to the point whre it should be noted that the Yankees aren't hitting Jason Vargas

53 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:40 pm

Yankees bats seem to have started their last day off a little early.

54 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:40 pm

Every once in a while, when they show the dugout, I look around to see if Andy Pettitte is there.

55 Just Fair   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:41 pm

Cadillac Jones. He cracks me up. Looks away when he catches it, fires it submarine style back to the infield, flipped a no look pass over his shoulder to Granderson last inning.

56 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:43 pm

[49][50] I'm guessing the Moneyball movie is really bad..

57 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:43 pm

I'll say it again; that Carp guy on the M's looks like Chris Elliott when he was young.

58 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:46 pm

Two measly hits against Vargas?

59 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:47 pm

The Yanks are hitting like Vargas Girls tonight.

60 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:48 pm

[56] Hm. Well, I think my tastes might be closer to Jon Weisman's than to yours, actually.

61 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:50 pm

Delicious!

62 Just Fair   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:50 pm

Swish Swat!

63 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:51 pm

That'll do

64 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:51 pm

Swisher delivers! It looked like he didn't hit it hard.

65 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:54 pm

KaBOOM!
[60] What, you aren't up for a double feature of "The Sorrow & The Pity" and "Six-String Samurai"? I like to mix&match.

66 RIYank   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:56 pm

[65] Well, actually, I would!
But I really like movies. I like them too much, so I'm a bad critic. Like a really voracious, starving fat guy would make a bad food critic.

67 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 14, 2011 11:59 pm

Lets not throw that again

68 seamus   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:00 am

I love nova's efficiency I do.

69 Boatzilla   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:01 am

[56] I've heard good things about Moneyball. I will see if it my schedule allows. Wanna be my "date"?

70 seamus   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:02 am

[69] the bb love board.

71 Boatzilla   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:03 am

I'll buy the tix if you sport for the beer and popcorn. (*J*)

72 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:03 am

yo team!

heard some of the game on the radio driving home from work. turned on the tv and saw robbie strike out and swish's homerun. i'm starving, so i'm eating in the kitchen. i thought i'd get to watch on my computer via espn3, but my laptop isn't letting me. something weird going on w/ the adobe flash player and it's pissing me off...

73 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:03 am

[66] Well. I'm a hyper-critical movie-goer so it would be interesting for me to debate the merits of Caddyshack II with you some time.

[69] Will you buy me popcorn and a giant carbonated-flavor drink? Not sure I like that date invitation coming on comment 69 though..

74 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:04 am

Jamey Wright is still in baseball?

75 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:06 am

There's very little encouraging about that bullpen

76 Boatzilla   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:07 am

Steal home now.

77 Boatzilla   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:09 am

WFT DJ?!?

78 Boatzilla   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:14 am

Seeya dudes, I'm off to the salt mines.

79 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:15 am

Eduardo Nunez is the worst defender I've ever seen at any position. Curt Blefary laughs at him.

80 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:22 am

DUSTED, Dustin! YOU GOT HAMMERED.

81 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:23 am

HIGH SOCKS!!!

i went inside to watch that. : )

82 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:24 am

Goddam.
I'm glad I stayed up, just for that.
Man, that is exhilarating.

83 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:24 am

[81] Good, so that shows you have some sense!

84 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:25 am

Brandon League is their closer, right?
I guess even Joe G. would bring in Mo in this situation.

85 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:26 am

ooh, damn close for curtis.

[83] i fixed the adobe thingie. so i can watch in the kitchen! : )

86 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:26 am

Big stuff Bama. Good for Nova...too bad no decision. Now let's get one, and Mo can tie the record.

87 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:28 am

dontchyaknow!

88 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:29 am

that's a nice piece of 2-strike hitting.

i like this walk.

be good for jesus to get his first game winning ribbie! : )

89 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:29 am

Oh, brilliant. Walk Swish, excellent.

90 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:29 am

remember when Game Winning RBI was a stat on the back of baseball cards?

91 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:30 am

[88] God will punish Wedge for this.

Speaking of which, did you see that Lavarnway played a bunch in Fenway today?

92 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:31 am

Those two fouls were in his wheelhouse. Jesus just couldn't turn on them. Too fast, I guess. Good pitches.

93 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:31 am

[91] is that our fellow tribesman?

94 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:32 am

ah, crap.

i barely had a look. does this idiot have a disgusting neck tattoo also?

95 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:33 am

[93] Yeah, him.
Of course, Jesus Montero was also named after a Jewish boy. Maybe he's Jewish, too.

96 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:34 am

Greetings all, back from dinner, just in time for the top of the 9th.

1-1 eh?

Time to roll the dice on Soriano ... c'mon, NO WHAMMYS!!!

97 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:34 am

Interesting. The tactically best move is to go to Mo here. But it's hard to complain since going with Soriano is probably the best route to 601. (No, actually, leaving D-Rob in would be -- but I don't expect that.)

98 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:34 am

last gig of my tour was in seattle. beautiful country. good beer, too!

99 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:35 am

[90] I remember! I was so happy cause Donnie Baseball had like 30 of them one season.

100 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:35 am

[96] You missed a nice Hammer exhibition. He inherited runners in the corners, but nailed the M's to the wall to bail out Nova.

Hmmm ... Montero is 0 for 4 with 3ks???

Bust!

102 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:36 am

[95] i used to play tom lehrer's "national brotherhood week" with a trio. when it got to that part - you know the part - since the drums stop, i'd stand up and point to myself and the bassist would turn around and point to me. singer/pianist did the same. it was pretty funny!

[96] hey buddy!

103 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:37 am

[100] Nice!

The 4! hits we've managed tonight has to have been a little frustrating ...

104 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:37 am

who's the 'other' guy on the espn broadcast? i'm assuming ex-player. is it chris singelton?

105 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:37 am

Hmm.

106 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:37 am

Fucking Nune5.

Why isn't Chavez in there for defense?

107 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:37 am

tough play, but man does he SUCK at defense. : /

108 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:38 am

[106] yeah! good call.

we want chavy!

109 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:38 am

Touched the glove, tough play but (Nun)E5.

110 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:40 am

the anti nunE5!

111 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:41 am

[109] It was a tough play, my complaint is more with JoeyJoeJoe.

Everybody in the stadium knows Nune5 is clownshoes at 3rd.

112 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:41 am

The Mattpat of Seattle is right now fuming about the Mariners' pinch stand-there.

113 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:41 am

Gritner!

114 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:42 am

[111] i think his screen name is:

Standpat11

115 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:43 am

anything other than a strikeout there woulda been disappointing.

116 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:43 am

Good work, Rafa.

117 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:44 am

Seems like somebody in the booth should know that Gold Glove voting was changed this year to 1 LF, 1 CF and 1 RF.

If Gritner does win the LF Gold Glove, it's a complete travesty, not that Gold Gloves AREN'T already a complete travesty, but Gardner has had such an incredible year in the field, it shouldn't even be a competition ...

118 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:44 am

Good Soriano. Good Gardner. Not so Good Nunez. NOW SCORE A RUN...PLEASE.

If the Yankees don't, we'll have to endure The Proctor.

119 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:44 am

[117] Err, *doesn't* win ...

120 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:45 am

how about pinch hitting chavy for nune5?

121 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:45 am

So, checking the box score ... Jones got thrown out at home?

What happened there?

Bad send?

Great throw?

122 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:46 am

[113] I was thinking GrungePat11.

123 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:47 am

[118] Even better, it's time for BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOney!

[118] It's late, I don't comprehend...

127 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:48 am

[120] Very bad send.
If it was Gritner it would have been a good send. Andruw was puffing as he chugged into third, it was pretty shocking when he kept going.

128 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:49 am

here's chavy...

129 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:49 am

Wait, Coffee Joe let Nune5 hit against a RHP in the 8th with the tying run on 2nd?

Or was it a LHP?

130 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:49 am

crap.

131 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:50 am

I've spent the better part of the last half hour trying to think of a player with less baseball instincts on the field. Even the famously flakey Bernie and Jorge saved most of their nonsense for the bases.

132 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:50 am

Blargh.

I have a feeling these extra frames favors these gas throwing Mariners' relieverx over our assorted non-SoRoMo pupu platter

133 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:51 am

[128] R, I'm pretty sure -- it was Jamey Wright, wasn't it?

I think Nuñez would make an excellent player for Scranton. Maybe (MAYBE) he could learn how to field. Then he'd be a useful Yankee -- Bronx kind, I mean.

Kay and Leiter agree that he's been a godsend. Maybe they meant your god, cult. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that Baal sent him.

134 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:53 am

This could work. Remember, the Mariners hit like the Staten Island Yanks.

135 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:55 am

not good.

136 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:55 am

137 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:56 am

i'm not a fan of this walk...

138 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:56 am

How does Boone Logan only have a 2.89 ERA this season?

139 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:56 am

You know your LOOGY sucks when he intentionally walks the lefty

140 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:56 am

Yeah, I can accept this IBB. Even I can accept it!

141 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:57 am

[137] He had a couple of good months, including one very very good month. (Everyone forgets this -- I remember it well!)

Ichiro is a lefty but he is the player on the team most likely to get a hit. The extra base runner means absolutely nothing (except a possible force at third or DP).

142 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:57 am

Hope Seager isn't going to make Loogan a not so Beautiful Loser..

143 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:59 am

good. one more, please!

144 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 12:59 am

One more.
Then we score, then Mo.

145 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:00 am

151 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:05 am

The dregs of the Yankees bullpen vs the M's lineup seems like some unstoppable force vs immovable object of suck

152 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:07 am

that really is pretty frickin' impressive about jeter's 150+ hits. some company.

153 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:08 am

motherfucking cocksucking piece of dogshit.

154 RIYank   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:08 am

[148] Or not. Either way. We still love baseball.

155 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:09 am

At the wall power tonight. THIS does not bode well.

[131] Freshman year of HS, trying out for the Freshman baseball team, I was shagging throws at the plate while our Freshman Coach, Mr. Dietz was hitting flyballs to the outfielders.

Now, the way the field was set up down the LF line, starting just past 3rd base, a short ridge line of about 5-6 feet, interspaced with trees, rose about 5 feet past the foul line. Between the rise and the trees, playing balls hit down the line could be tricky for left fielders.

One of the guys trying out for the team was Knute Engstrom. Nice guy, not too bright. Nose tackle on the football team, not the most coordinated.

Coach Dietz hits a ball down the LF line that starts hooking foul. Knute chases. Ball keeps hooking, Knute keeps chasing.

Ball is hooking into the trees, Knute keeps chasing, eyes fixed only on the ball.

Knute runs full speed into the rise, never once taking his eyes off the ball, trips and falls flat on his face, not even managing to break his fall with his arms.

The ball fell about 10 feet away.

Coach Dietz stood there for a moment, shook his head softly in disgust and muttered under his breath, almost too quietly for me to hear, "I gotta cut that kid before he hurts himself."

Sometimes, when I watch Nune5 play, I think of Knute Engstrom ...

158 OldYanksFan   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:10 am

Nuney is a UINF who plays 2nd, 3rd and SS. He has had his issues, but his OPS is better then 5 other AL STARTING Shortstops (and this after a long slump).

The guy is a Melky. He lacks concentration and is very raw. But he has shown some tools. I suspect when he matures, he will be one of the best UINFs in MLB.

159 OldYanksFan   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:12 am

And Seattle has good pitching, but 4 hits (one by Nunez) in 11 innings sucks. We have a 99.9% chance of making the PS, and we're still up at 1 AM.

160 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:12 am

{153} I must love baseball. Have to be up and functioning fully in less than 6 hours.

161 OldYanksFan   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:13 am

[156] Knute Nunez?

162 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:14 am

[157] why, that's...quite sensible!

and melky is enjoying a career year this season w/ the royales. he and frenchy - and alex gordon - are all doing well there, actually.

[150] My father was in the Secret Service, Mr. Wilhelmsenmanfredjunsen, and I know perfectly well that you don't keep the general public informed when you are "debriefing KGB defectors in a safe house"!

junior - prettiest swing ever of all time. ever.

165 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:16 am

[161] Knutez?

166 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:16 am

[156] Knute Engstrom. I may have to change my tag to that.

167 OldYanksFan   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:17 am

And Boston loses tonight, as Bard walks the first 2 batters he faces, and gives up 3 in the 8th. TB loses their 2nd game to Baltimore, and their chances go from 11+% to 4.6% in 2 days.

I'm OK with less tension going down the stretch.

168 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:18 am

our boyz still have to fly to toronto tonite...

169 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:20 am

[162] Well done, Knute! Hmm..Yankee fan..lives out in LA..knows his obscure movie quotes...are you actually Debbie Reynolds?

170 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:21 am

Doesn't it seem like Wily Mo should play in Japan, seems like he be one of those great gaijin sluggers that couldn't quite make it here, but would be legendary over there ...

Meanwhile, I should have added Wade to the list of non-sucky pitchers. He isn't going to overpower hitters, but he knows what he's doing out there.

I feel about 100x more comfortable with him on the mound than I do with Ayala ...

171 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:21 am

we really need to win it here...

172 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:21 am

[169] i agree with all that. i dig wade. and nova.

173 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:22 am

ouchie! please don't be hurt.

174 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:22 am

That hurt like hell

175 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:22 am

Wow ... I've read about this guy pitching for the Mariners.

GREAT story.

-1 Hollywood story points for you, Mr. Balabar.

Bad rookie, bad.

176 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:23 am

it will be difficult for him to play the bass drum right now.

177 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:24 am

[169] You'd need to hollow out two Japanese apartments for Wily Mo to fit comfortably in them.

Cult, you ever see "Fierce Creatures"? As bad as everyone says?

178 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:24 am

Oh no..what happened to Robbie???

179 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:24 am

Remember when we knocked Felix around and thought we were out of our funk?

Now we can't hit a school teacher

180 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:26 am

i can't envision it, but robbie should drink some whiskey on the plane!

181 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:27 am

[177]fastball right on the side of his right foot.

182 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:28 am

bollocks.

183 thelarmis   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:31 am

oh no.

that sucks.

184 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:33 am

That was not satisfying. This was a win that should have been.

185 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:33 am

Terrible.

186 Mattpat11   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:33 am

I can accept this. No Proctor, no Laffey, it happens

187 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:33 am

[177] Only saw it once, when I came out. I remember being pretty disappointed in it.

But, frankly, I can't remember much of anything about it and can't really say if it was bad, or if I just had sky-high expectations that it didn't fulfill.

188 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:34 am

[186] Yeah, this one was on the bats.

189 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:36 am

Sleep well. There are bigger issues in this world.

190 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:36 am

[169] We promised, but the moment we got inside we lost control. The tension had been too great. Debbie Reynolds was yukking across the stage in a silver Afro wig...to the tune of "Sargent Pepper" from the golden trumpet of Harry James.

...

This is the main advantage of ether: it makes you behave like the village drunkard in some early Irish novel...total loss of all basic motor skills: Blurred vision, no balance, numb tongue-severance of all connection between the body and the brain. Which is interesting, because the brain continues to function more or less normally...you can actually watch yourself behaving in the terrible way, but you can't control it.

What's happening here? What's going on? Then you hear yourself mumbling: "Dogs fucked the Pope, no fault of mine. Watch out!...Why money? My name is Brinks; I was born...Born? Get sheep over side...women and children to armored car...orders from Captain Zeep."

[186] Always have loved "Wanda" so much. Skipped watching their renuion as even they disowned it for the most part.

Really annoying to lose extra-innings to Seattle..I want more separation from Boston!

193 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:47 am

[188] Oh, you bringing that Hunter S. shit in here? I'll take you with this:

"The cheaper the crook, the gaudier the talk."

194 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 1:57 am

Well, I thought you were playing, "spot the obscure reference" and when I think of Debbie Reynolds, I think of Fear and Loathing!

=)

195 cult of basebaal   ~  Sep 15, 2011 2:00 am

Robinson Cano went for x-rays after being hit in the foot in the 12th inning. The tests showed no break, but Cano was still hobbling around the clubhouse with the foot heavily wrapped.

Lovely.

[191] I love Jamie Lee. And Cleese's scene in the holiday house is absolutely hilarious.

197 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Sep 15, 2011 2:09 am

[194] Damn.
[195] Jamie Lee was super. Cleese and Kevin Kline perfect in that film. May have to YouTube view that over chores tonight!
