I was checking my calendar to see if April 1 had snuck up on me after reading that second link. The Yankees do some weird stuff, but that's got to be up there.
Ibanez seems like a bad idea to me, but at least he doesn't throw like a 7th grade girl.
And I'm hoping you won't mind if I chime in with another topic: Joe Sheehan has a piece on SI about how many MLB owners seem to care more about hoarding money than putting a winning team on the field. This is always my retort to the Yankee-haters: Don't blame us just because our owner likes to win -- ask why yours doesn't. Unfortunately, Sheehan does not mention the Mariners owners, who are one of the biggest offenders. I am also an Ms fan, so the Jesus trade wasn't as painful for me, but watching the Ms corporate owners manage the team for cash flow and nothing else is the peak of baseball frustration, especially back in 2000, where they were one piece away from a championship. Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there.
[1] I'm sure they have the benefit of running simulations on MLB2K-whatever and deciding it will take a few years for them to catch up with Houston >;)
[2] Neat, who did he play? Wouldn't it be nice to have an official Bronx Banter T-shirt to throw at him during the encore?
[0] Great names for those fragrances. The marketing team really put a lot of thought into it. "Gee, what should we call it? I know, how about "New York Yankees"? Well, that's a little out there, but it does have panache."
Jeez, I can think of 15 better names in 10 seconds, starting with Mystic and Aura.

My brother-in-law acted in a production of "Waiting for Lefty" that will be coming to New York in March.

[3] He plays a doctor, I think. I haven't seen it, so I don't really know more than that.
What's going on with Chavez?
I think he's a much better option than the others.
I wouldn't DH him, but he can field for ARod on his half-days.
