Moon Over Miami

Knicks at Heat tonight. This used to be a rivalry. Let’s see if the Knicks play well and finish the first half of the season on the good foot.

Gunna be a long night for the Knicks. Heat are so fast and strong on both ends of the floor. The Knicks' inability to make sure, crisp passes will kill them tonight.

I want this game...badly.

3 RagingTartabull   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:25 pm

I haven't seen a Knicks team take this many fouls since Whoopi Goldberg taught Ivan to plant his feet

4 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:25 pm

"James witha a gorgeous scoop shot." Nice to hear Marv callin the game. Yeah, this one's got some juice.

5 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:29 pm

2 horseshit techs. C'mon ref.

6 RagingTartabull   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:30 pm

this has been horribly officiated so far.

and the Knicks should probably be down by 14 right now, so I'm not gonna complain that much

7 Dimelo   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:33 pm

Tough game so far, I like how the Knicks are keeping up with their intensity. Punch "The Whore" in the mouth!!!!

8 RagingTartabull   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:35 pm

is there anything lamer in sports than an all-black alternate uniform? I mean, really?

9 Dimelo   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:38 pm

The Heat are crazy intense on defense. Spolestra looks like he belongs in Miami.

10 RIYank   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:40 pm

Pretty good basketball for a quarter.
I have to admit that it does look like the Knicks are not quite in the same class as the Heat.

Yet.

11 RagingTartabull   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:41 pm

[10] no they're not, but I don't think the gap is 10 miles wide either.

12 RagingTartabull   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:42 pm

why is Pitbull still a thing?

13 Dimelo   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:44 pm

[10] The Heat had a day off yesterday, they have a bit more energy so hopefully all this energy they are exerting means they are probably going to blow their load early. Or probably they might blow their load all over the Knicks. I just hope the Knicks show me heart, show me cojones and I'll go to bed happy. Let them walk all over you and I get pissed.

14 RIYank   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:45 pm

[11] I don't either. Whereas two weeks ago I would have said it was forty miles wide.

15 Dimelo   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:45 pm

NOVAK!

16 RIYank   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:45 pm

Well, there's some heart, right there.

17 RagingTartabull   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:46 pm

I can't believe I'm saying this, but...

I really think the Knicks are the deepest team in the East right now

18 RagingTartabull   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:53 pm

YEAH STAT!

19 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 7:59 pm

Knicks are in this, good shit.

20 Dimelo   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:04 pm

Showing heart, showing cojones, the Heat don't give up though...the Knicks have to give it their all here.

21 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:06 pm

The Heat's D makes Melo look a half step too slow.

22 ms october   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:07 pm

I'm liking basketball banter.
Game is getting a bit sloppy. Given the pace the score should be much higher.

23 Dimelo   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:07 pm

[21] Melo has looked a half step slow since he got back. FU LJ!!!

24 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:07 pm

That was a SERIOUS FLUSH by Lebron.

25 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:08 pm

Like Chandler staying aggresive.

26 Dimelo   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:09 pm

The Knicks are taking on their surge and keep matching them.

27 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:10 pm

Linn's got TOO much arc on those shots tonight.

28 Dimelo   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:10 pm

Wow, Lin's head snapped back there.

29 RIYank   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:11 pm

Damn, they closed, I thought the game was going to be even at the half. Sloppy.

30 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:11 pm

Big three by Melo.

31 RagingTartabull   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:11 pm

if this game stays close it's gonna come down to Melo, and personally I think he's up to the challenge

32 RIYank   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:12 pm

[31] Anyway that's something I want to see, whether he turns out to be up for it or not.

33 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:12 pm

Killer by Chalmers. Nice answer by Melo.

34 ms october   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:13 pm

I have league pass so I see most teams, though - don't watch most of the west coast game - and don't think anyone works the refs more than d'antoni.

35 Dimelo   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:14 pm

Good half, I'm impressed. Knicks had a ton of turnovers, playing a back-to-back, Heat with a day off, and they matched their intensity. I'll take it, just cut-down on the turnovers.

36 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:15 pm

Yeah, and I think Melo is warming up now. If Lin can give them an improved second half, they could be in this 'til the end.

Knicks-Heat: they're back!

37 RIYank   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:15 pm

Hm, with Lin on the floor, -12. With Jeffries, +9.

38 RagingTartabull   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:16 pm

considering the turnovers I will totally take being down 4 at the half

39 RagingTartabull   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:18 pm

Emeril's in Orlando is what Anthony Bourdain's personal Hell must look like

40 Jon DeRosa   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:28 pm

Every time I looked at the screen, Miami was emasculating some Knick (usually Lin) and racing down the other end like a tidal wave. How is this only a 4 pt game?

[34] Hey ms october, you know whatever happend to DWill and the SOMM website? It just vanished..

Hope I can catch the replay of this game tonight on tv here!

42 Dimelo   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:35 pm

Joel Anthony has a big fucking head.

43 ms october   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:42 pm

Hey mr. Ok jazz - my understanding is he was burned out from devoting so much time, energy, effort to somm as well as dealing with some trying situations in the blogging world.

44 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:48 pm

Knicks need to hold it until 15 here. Don't let it slip away.

45 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:48 pm

J.R. Swish.

46 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:54 pm

Too many outside shots, boys.

47 RIYank   ~  Feb 23, 2012 8:56 pm

Getting out of hand now.

48 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 9:00 pm

47) Oy, I know.

49 ms october   ~  Feb 23, 2012 9:01 pm

differences are becoming pretty apparent.

50 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Feb 23, 2012 9:05 pm

[43] Thanks for the update. Enjoyed his site, though yeah he seemed a bit "tense" in the comments for sure!

51 RagingTartabull   ~  Feb 23, 2012 9:07 pm

well that was fun while it lasted

52 RagingTartabull   ~  Feb 23, 2012 9:12 pm

at least Wacka Flocka and Birdman are having fun

53 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 9:12 pm

No way, this ain't over yet. Steve SWISH!

54 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 10:11 pm

Maybe not. They showed some fight but aren't in the same class as Miami yet. Lin with a tough night. Melo showed some signs, still slow, but I'm not worried about him. Amare is more of a concern. He's like a 29 year old running back. No lift. He looks shot as a star player.

55 Alex Belth   ~  Feb 23, 2012 10:11 pm

And now, some late night fun with OKC and the Lake Show.
