they're calling up some Pettitte kid from the minors to pitch on Sunday. Sounds like this year's Sidney Ponson to me.

2 Alex Belth   ~  May 8, 2012 3:19 pm

Just another chucker...

3 rbj   ~  May 8, 2012 4:02 pm

And that Mo guy's complication's not supposed to affect him next year.

[1] Always good to see a kid get a shot. Wonder if the game'll sell out.

4 Greg G   ~  May 8, 2012 4:27 pm

I hope they send Hughes to the pen. They need to get him to be the 7th or 8th inning guy. He or Soriano. It sucks that he has been thrown into different roles, and if he could have pulled it together as a starter that would have been terrific, but he showed he can work out of the pen, and his history as a starter lately does not look good.

(3) Mo's condition is complicated. In that he is not really injured and just wanted to find out how much he would be missed when he retires.

5 RagingTartabull   ~  May 8, 2012 4:27 pm

I would definitely go if it wasn't on Mama Dukes Day.

THANKS A LOT MOM!

6 Mattpat11   ~  May 8, 2012 6:19 pm

Rhymes with the old Mark Bellhorn "hair."

7 Mattpat11   ~  May 8, 2012 6:20 pm

[4] The Yankees ability to create right handed middle relievers out of starters really is amazing.

8 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 6:21 pm

[6] Bellhorn..didn't he retire with a .220 career avg but lifetime .675 with 20 homers against the Yankees?

9 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 6:29 pm

I'm tired of Teix at the bat.

10 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 6:35 pm

K.
Need more of those, Ivan.

11 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 6:35 pm

Way to go, Nova.

12 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 6:35 pm

Sit down, Einstein!
Gosh..imagine the conversations between the "genius" Joe Maddon and Luke Scott?

13 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 6:37 pm

Or that.

Okay, here we go.

14 monkeypants   ~  May 8, 2012 6:37 pm

[7] You have to give the organization credit for recognizing how the 8th, 7th, and 6th innings are the most important in the game, in that order.

But seriously, they're headed for a six man rotation, right?

15 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 6:37 pm

[12] Oy, I'd rather not, thanks.

16 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 6:41 pm

[14] Bobby Valentine says the 17th is the most important. He has good evidence, although admittedly the sample size is very small.

17 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 6:42 pm

Hahahahahahahah!

That statement is hilarious from Hamels!

Remember when--Estes, was it?--threw at Clemens (and missed!) and when asked after the game, wtf?, replied, "I was just trying to make a pitch."

18 monkeypants   ~  May 8, 2012 6:46 pm

And what is this obsession with playing Nuñez in the OF?

19 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 6:49 pm

[18] Platoon splits? Uh, artificial turf?

Candygram?

(Some people might complain that in your question, the phrase "in the OF" is superfluous.)

20 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 6:51 pm

Take that.

21 monkeypants   ~  May 8, 2012 6:52 pm

[18] Well, you gotta get that bat in the lineup.

22 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 6:52 pm

It really chaps my ass that Ortiz is doing well this year. : (

23 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 6:53 pm

[21] "Dynamic" bat, don't forget.

24 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 6:54 pm

[22] Doesn't bother me, as long as it's in a losing effort.

25 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 6:56 pm

Man, if only we got four outs this inning, Nuñez would have no problem scoring. Three productive outs would do it.

26 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 6:57 pm

[24] Ha-ha. That is true. But my bitterness runs deep. Very deep. As for the relevant team, I'd like to see at least one Yankee sit on Shields' gd changeup before his night is done.

27 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 6:57 pm

[25] We could luck out and get a WP.

28 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 6:59 pm

No, Al, you don't get into it a little bit too much at times!
Your geeky enthusiasm is what I love about you!

29 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:01 pm

Unproductive strikeout.

30 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:04 pm

Nova is a very good pitcher.

31 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 7:05 pm

Ivan is looking pretty decent so far.

32 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:05 pm

I think Andy can teach him a lot about pitching, too, I find them very similar

33 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:06 pm

Bobby Richardson must be one, right?

34 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:06 pm

No, not close! For some reason I thought Richardson had some power.

35 monkeypants   ~  May 8, 2012 7:06 pm

[31] Fear of Pettitte taking his spot in the rotation?

36 monkeypants   ~  May 8, 2012 7:07 pm

33] Gotta be Lazzeri and Gordon, no?

37 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 7:08 pm

Robbie!

38 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:08 pm

Wow, I thought those guys would also not be close. Lazzeri in particular is underrated.

39 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:08 pm

Come on, fucking Teix...

40 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:08 pm

Ripped!

41 Mattpat11   ~  May 8, 2012 7:09 pm

IN THE AIR

42 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:09 pm

Oh, man. Ugh.

Productive.

43 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 7:10 pm

[35] I'm a an unabashed Ivan supporter. The dude is good. Some days you miss more bats than others.

44 monkeypants   ~  May 8, 2012 7:10 pm

That's what we pay Teix for...PRODUCTIVE outs.

45 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:10 pm

Swish will walk.

46 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:10 pm

[43] He's very, very good.

47 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:11 pm

So that's five low pitches...

48 monkeypants   ~  May 8, 2012 7:12 pm

OK, please stop talking about the various shifts. Please.

49 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 7:12 pm

Fuck Maddon. Fuck the Rays. Fuck their bullshit infielders walking all over the place during the pitch. FUCK!

50 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:12 pm

Jesus H.

51 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:12 pm

God, these hitters suck.

Why not shoot that pitch through the fucking unoccupied left side of the infield?

52 Mattpat11   ~  May 8, 2012 7:12 pm

Or that. Do that.

53 monkeypants   ~  May 8, 2012 7:13 pm

SHIFT!

54 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:13 pm

[51] WHY NOT TAKE THE WALK???

55 Mattpat11   ~  May 8, 2012 7:13 pm

[51] PullPullPullPullPullPull...PULL!

56 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:14 pm

Good job, man.

57 Mattpat11   ~  May 8, 2012 7:14 pm

Shift Buster

58 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 7:14 pm

I got my wish. Adios changeup! Atta boy, Cool!

59 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:14 pm

Ahhhhhhh.

God, damn.

60 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:15 pm

[58] Oh yeah, nice job. Raul got your text.

61 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 7:15 pm

Shift THAT Joe M!!

62 monkeypants   ~  May 8, 2012 7:15 pm

[55][56] Wow, you guys are way ahead of my feed. And there it is!

63 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:16 pm

All right...Nova might get in a little trouble this inning, but they're not scoring.

64 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 7:16 pm

[60] He told me he was going to hit in the upper deck but I'll take it.

65 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 7:18 pm

[62] You on mlb.com? My feed is pretty much live.

66 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:18 pm

He catches everything, that Curtis.

67 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:19 pm

Just Fair's bff doubled, but the Sox stranded him on second like a hippo on a traffic island.

68 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:20 pm

Need these outs, Ivan! Before the deluge!

69 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 7:21 pm

Einstein goes down again! Nova's dealing it tonight, get one more and the have the umps call it!

70 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:21 pm

I can't remember exactly why I hate Luke Scott. Did he say something really stupid?

71 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 7:22 pm

[67] Now your just taunting me.

72 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 7:22 pm

[71] you're. D'oh! C'mon, Ivan. 1 more out!

73 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 7:22 pm

Will Rhymes?? Is that his real name?

74 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 7:23 pm

[70] Umm..yes. Can't talk about it on the Banter, just Google it.

75 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:23 pm

[71] I was. But you liked the image, I know you did.

76 Mattpat11   ~  May 8, 2012 7:24 pm

[70] Yes. Very, very stupid.

77 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:25 pm

Oh, was that it? I thought it was something baseball.

78 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 7:26 pm

That's a beaut!

79 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:26 pm

Atta boy, Ivan!

80 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 7:26 pm

SUUUUUUUUUPER NOVA!

81 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:26 pm

Damn. It's Nova Day.

82 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:31 pm

I love Leiter.

Kay: I wish I could draw.
Leiter: So draw!
Kay: But I can't, I'm not good at it!
Leiter: Yeah, but keeping doing it, you'll get better!

So encouraging and he's absolutely right.

83 OldYanksFan   ~  May 8, 2012 7:31 pm

Be nice to get Shields out of the game after 6 IP.

84 Chyll Will   ~  May 8, 2012 7:33 pm

[73] Sure, I do from time to time...

85 OldYanksFan   ~  May 8, 2012 7:33 pm

Kay: I wish I could announce a good game.
Leiter: Announce a game!
Kay: But I can't, I'm not good at it!
Leiter: Yeah, but keeping doing it, you'll get better!

86 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 7:33 pm

[75] Yes, the fat hippo on a traffic island image made me laugh..

87 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 7:34 pm

[84] Kachow!

88 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:34 pm

Hahah!

89 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:35 pm

Good job, Curtis.

90 Mattpat11   ~  May 8, 2012 7:35 pm

That will do.

91 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 7:35 pm

WHOO-HOO, Curtis!. Big Game James is all wet.

92 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:35 pm

That looked all upper body from Curtis.

93 OldYanksFan   ~  May 8, 2012 7:35 pm

Yankee Stadium Special!
What's that? 350'?

94 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:36 pm

Curtis rocks.

[84] You and Busta.

95 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:37 pm

That was a change, too, Just Fair. (The Granderdinger, I mean.)

96 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:37 pm

"We can't keep tipping our hat."

Amen, brother.

97 OldYanksFan   ~  May 8, 2012 7:38 pm

Well.... 100 pitches. I guess we get 3 innings of Tampa BP.

98 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:38 pm

That was a whole lot of pitches for Big Game, too. A lot. I know he has a big gas tank, but he's for sure running low.

99 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:40 pm

Speaking of Wills: Young Will Middlebrook doubles and scores. Couple walks, 3-0 count to Pony, Duffy is in real trouble...

100 Chyll Will   ~  May 8, 2012 7:40 pm

[94] What more can I say? I live for the funk, I die for the funk.

102 randym77   ~  May 8, 2012 7:42 pm

They're flying out pretty well for a cold, rainy night.

103 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:42 pm

Duffy walks in a run. Hippo is up, two outs, bases loaded...

Flies out. Whew.

104 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:46 pm

Bravo, team, nicely turned!

105 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 7:46 pm

Teix always brings the smooth D..shame he can't hit anymore.

106 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:47 pm

Yaaay!

Good work to limit the damage.

107 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:47 pm

Teix is good at some things, still.

108 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:48 pm

Probably my favorite thing about Nova, that after a mistake and a little trouble he doesn't rattle a bit, just bears down. You have to love that.

The anti-AJ.

109 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:52 pm

(Catchers are fucking batshit crazy.)

110 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:53 pm

Dan Bard just balked in a run.

111 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:53 pm

[108] Yes.

112 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:53 pm

Teix knows there's more than one way to beat the shift.

113 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 7:54 pm

Anyone following the hoop-de-hoop playoffs? Can't believe Dallas went out like that..Lakers-Heat in the Finals, please?

114 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:56 pm

Bard balks again! Mousaka (what's his real name again?) advances to third!

115 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:56 pm

Moustakas. Now he scores on a single. Excellent.

116 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 7:58 pm

Wild pitch by Bard.

That's a shitload of free bases this inning.

117 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 7:59 pm

Damn it.

118 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 7:59 pm

Dammit!

119 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:00 pm

So this is the first game I've seen where there's no Mo.

Looking at the score and the inning, Mo entered my mind just now.

Fuck.

120 randym77   ~  May 8, 2012 8:00 pm

Good grief.

121 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:00 pm

122 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:01 pm

There's just no Mariano Rivera tonight.

123 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:01 pm

[119] The Hammer.

124 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:01 pm

Be cool, Ivan.

125 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:02 pm

[123] But then there's no Hammer until then.

It's all fucked up.

126 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:02 pm

Single scores another run in Kaufmann. Those free bases were costly.

127 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:03 pm

[125] Uh.
Oh, I see what you mean. Yes, it's still a less happy situation than it might be, for sure.
But let's see Ivan get out of this inning, and I'll feel pretty good.

128 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:05 pm

FUCK.

129 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:05 pm

This is most unfortunate.

130 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 8:05 pm

131 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:05 pm

Fuck. A breaking ball that was totally flat and over the dish.

Fuck..

Come on, Ivan, you can do this shit..

132 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:06 pm

Nice!

133 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:06 pm

Yeah, it would be really nice to be able to go to D-Rob here, huh?

In fact, I would. I would do it right here.

134 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:06 pm

Ok. 1 more, Ivan.

135 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:06 pm

152 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 8:14 pm

[148] "poll"? :)

Ra-OOOOOOOL!

153 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:14 pm

[148] I'm definitely in favor.

154 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:15 pm

Punto GIDP with two on and no out. Missing Young Will already. Sox squander the nice two-on-no-out opportunity. Still 3-2 Royals after 2 1/2.

155 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:15 pm

Nice line from Bard.

156 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:16 pm

hahahahahahahah

I honestly just couldn't remember which the fuck one it was.

Jesus.

157 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:19 pm

[156] Just picture Paderewski out there. Or Ron Swaboda.

158 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:19 pm

I really hated seeing Ibanez on tv if I ever caught a Phillies game. Must have been the ugly Red uniform.

159 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:20 pm

hahahahahahah

Yes, indeed.

160 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 8:21 pm

[158] Not the world's most attractive man but not unusual for a ballplayer?

I remember always being grossed out by John Kruk..am sure if I saw him today he'd be 400+pounds and eating a bucket of KFC..

161 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:21 pm

Young Will Middlebrook update: tight hamstring.
Yeah, he looks like the tight hamstring type, he does.

162 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:23 pm

[160] Hahahahahah.

I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say he grossed me out, but I had a similar response to Greg Luzinski (yet another poll--er, Pole!).

163 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:24 pm

[160] Gross today but man could he hit.

164 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:26 pm

Hm, I might have stuck with Nova. I dunno, mebbe not.

165 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:26 pm

Nice belt high fastball over the plate.

166 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:27 pm

Oh, fugging Soriano. Come on, dude.

167 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:28 pm

Atta boy. Impressive.

168 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:28 pm

Four homeruns.

Damn.

169 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:28 pm

Hamilton. Are you freakin' kidding me. 4 homers! Holy shit!

170 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:29 pm

Sox tie it up with a 2-out double, single.

171 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:30 pm

Upton should have hit that one 400 feet.

175 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:31 pm

I mean, the good kind. [171] which one, the fastball?

176 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:32 pm

[171] (Yes.)

177 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:33 pm

YOu gotta be fucking kidding me.

For FUCK'S sake.

178 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:33 pm

179 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:34 pm

180 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:34 pm

That's a fucking strike, blue!

181 rbj   ~  May 8, 2012 8:34 pm

For fuck's sake.

182 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:37 pm

I wonder what the chessmaster is thinking.

183 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:38 pm

Well that was exciting.

184 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:38 pm

Strike three.

Jesus, talk about doing things the hard way.

185 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:38 pm

Good enough.
I mean, not really. But, I'll take it.

186 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 8:39 pm

[185] Soriano really earning his $872million contract!

187 OldYanksFan   ~  May 8, 2012 8:44 pm

Man... If Soriano was our Closer, I don't know if I could watch the games.

188 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:44 pm

Sox take the lead on KC errors.

189 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:44 pm

Damn!

Nice hitting, Alex!

Fuck, nice hitting.

190 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:44 pm

Wow. He smoked that. What an ab!

191 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:44 pm

What a nice, short swing.

192 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:45 pm

Nice, nice.
I wouldn't mind roughing up this bullpen a little, to start a three game series.

193 rbj   ~  May 8, 2012 8:45 pm

Get Alex in!

194 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:45 pm

Hit one in the seats, Robbie!

195 OldYanksFan   ~  May 8, 2012 8:46 pm

I'll take a liner to LF...

196 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:47 pm

That's got to be an uncomfortable at bat. 97 from a tall lefty. Yikes.

197 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:48 pm

[196] But that's never bothered Rob. Just slashed it. He looked a little dizzy.

198 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:49 pm

Bishop to E4... your move, Girardi.

199 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:52 pm

Thank you, Teix.

Thank you.

200 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:52 pm

Teix, baby!

202 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:53 pm

Girardi: check! Your move, Maddon.

203 Boatzilla   ~  May 8, 2012 8:53 pm

Can't shift against that shit!

204 Boatzilla   ~  May 8, 2012 8:55 pm

It's really sad to hear Leiter try to out think Maddon.

Also, why does Leiter always think out loud? Very annoying.

205 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 8:57 pm

It's not harder than you think it is, Michael, they just don't train to do that sort of thing anymore.

206 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 8:59 pm

[197] Robbie'll get him next time.
Strawberry was compared to Dino years ago. Raul is Dino-like too methinks.

207 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 8:59 pm

[205] Hm, actually, I think it's harder then you think it is.

208 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 9:00 pm

Oh well.
Okay, it's time.

209 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 9:01 pm

MLB fined the Nationals GM for his comments about Hamels & Harper? That makes NO sense..Hamels gets the tic-tac suspension and that's it?

210 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 9:01 pm

They just keep teasin' me
And, you know, they play like they don't know.
Provokin me,
But this is all I know:

I need a hammer - a hammer - a hammer - a hammer
To hammer them down!

211 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 9:01 pm

[208] Stop! Hammer time!

212 rbj   ~  May 8, 2012 9:02 pm

Hammah time!

213 rbj   ~  May 8, 2012 9:05 pm

[209] A one game push back for hitting a guy who can't control when Washington brings him up or sports news touting him. Stupid.

214 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 9:05 pm

Well Dave Robertson hammered in the mountain, he'd give a grunt and he'd give groan with every pitch, the women folks for miles around, heard him and come down, to watch him make the white pearl ring, lord what a pitch, just listen to that white pearl ring,
-With all apologies to Johnny Cash. : )

215 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 9:06 pm

Trust the hammer, Dave.

216 rbj   ~  May 8, 2012 9:06 pm

Mo as a robot? There's a Twilight Zone episode about robot pitchers . . .

217 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 9:08 pm

Hmmmm.

218 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 9:08 pm

Al and Michael are starting to wear on me.

219 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 9:09 pm

Oh, there's pressure in the 9th. Thanks Michael Kay.

220 Boatzilla   ~  May 8, 2012 9:09 pm

[218] Worn out their welcome long ago.

221 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 9:10 pm

Nasty pitch.

222 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 9:10 pm

Maddon calls on a .650 OPS batter to pinch hit. Interesting move. Didn't work out this time.

223 Boatzilla   ~  May 8, 2012 9:10 pm

Yaohza! Smuckers Roberson can't pitch unless he's in a jam.

224 Boatzilla   ~  May 8, 2012 9:11 pm

Check that: Robertson.

225 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 8, 2012 9:12 pm

[220] Cone & Singleton in KC spoiled us.

226 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 9:13 pm

Not worried.
Get 'im. Now. Nail him.

227 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 9:13 pm

Oh, my, ferfuck's sake. Ugh.

228 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 9:13 pm

Damn it.

Not that I'm worried or anything, Houdini's got this covered..but stil, damn it.

229 Boatzilla   ~  May 8, 2012 9:13 pm

Time to bring in M-....uh oh.

230 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 9:13 pm

D-Rob vs. Pena.

231 rbj   ~  May 8, 2012 9:14 pm

[223] A pickle in the jam.

232 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 9:15 pm

Oooooh, fuck, what a scintillating 0-1.

233 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 9:15 pm

A 9th inning curveball. That's new.

234 Mattpat11   ~  May 8, 2012 9:16 pm

Yeah, this isn't gonna work all year long p

235 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 8, 2012 9:17 pm

D-Rob. Beautiful!

236 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 9:17 pm

Ha!

Fuck!

Now that was nice.

237 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 9:17 pm

BANG. BANG. BANG.

Ballgame. YOU GOT HAMMERED.

238 rbj   ~  May 8, 2012 9:17 pm

Hammered!

239 mhoward120   ~  May 8, 2012 9:17 pm

Was there really any doubtZ?

240 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 9:17 pm

[239] Nope. None at all.

241 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 8, 2012 9:17 pm

A little homage to Mo with that backdoor, backwards K.

242 OldYanksFan   ~  May 8, 2012 9:18 pm

And Lil' Mo is born!

243 Boatzilla   ~  May 8, 2012 9:18 pm

Break out the Rolaids.

244 OldYanksFan   ~  May 8, 2012 9:19 pm

Remember when Rollie was in the Rolaids relief role?

245 Shaun P.   ~  May 8, 2012 9:20 pm

Houdini drops the hammer and escapes again!

Whew! I was a little worried, sort of. Its like when Wetteland used to get in and out of trouble, but the Alabama Hammer is better at it.

246 Boatzilla   ~  May 8, 2012 9:22 pm

The Mets and the Yankees have the same record. If the Mets win tonight they will be one game up on us. WTF!?

247 Boatzilla   ~  May 8, 2012 9:26 pm

[244] Yes. Mr. Fingers with the handle bar mustache.

248 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 9:30 pm

Yeah, he makes your pulse increase, but he's the man with no ERA+. He's the Hammer.

249 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 9:44 pm

D-Rob says he was really nervous. "If I blew that game Mo was gonna come in and smack me around."

250 RIYank   ~  May 8, 2012 9:53 pm

Billy Butler's 3-run homer off Matt Albers (but the runners belong to Bard) spoils Dan Bard's otherwise good start. 6-4, and Boston will need a comeback.

251 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 8, 2012 9:53 pm

Nice win, fuck Tampa Bay and the genius. It stops now.

Fun reading the comments. Wish I could have seen the game.
