How about Cashman's testimony against Clemens today?

Cash seemed much more damaging than Andy.

Clemens wanted McNamee after he lost in 1999 at Fenway, to come to the Yankees to "Push his buttons." Hmm.....

And he was hired essentially as Clemens personal trainer.

I like Nunez, but DAMN!!!!!

Quick look at mlb.com TV, saw a NunEEEEz error..think I will listen to jazz on the work commute rather than watch this.

JoeyJoeJoe, please end the Eduardo Era. Think of the Children!!!

Oof. Teix got the pitch he wanted, but he didn't do with it what he wanted to do with it.

5 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 10, 2012 6:33 pm

Man, he kills us out there.

6 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 10, 2012 6:33 pm

No longer funny, just inexcusable. NunE5, damn

7 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 6:37 pm

Indians 3, Beckett 0, after 1 1/2.

8 OldYanksFan   ~  May 10, 2012 6:40 pm

Let's see.
They get 2 out hits.
We don't.
I wonder how this game turns out.

9 OldYanksFan   ~  May 10, 2012 6:41 pm

[4] Yes. Teix wanted to hit it to China. Simply stroking a pitch won't do.

10 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 6:42 pm

[8] Are two-out hits more important than one-out and no-out hits?

11 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 6:42 pm

[9] I know, it's a moral failing.

12 OldYanksFan   ~  May 10, 2012 6:45 pm

Rally Killer!

13 OldYanksFan   ~  May 10, 2012 6:46 pm

[10] Yes. Sometimes, like that inning, you don't have RISP until 2 outs.

14 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 6:47 pm

[13] Hm, and sometimes you have no RISP at all. I don't think that shows much.

I'm pretty sure they're equally valuable.

15 OldYanksFan   ~  May 10, 2012 6:50 pm

Well... Nunez gets one back.

16 OldYanksFan   ~  May 10, 2012 6:52 pm

Like I said... you don't always have RISP until there are 2 outa.

17 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 6:57 pm

[16] You don't always have them when there are two outs, either. As I said.

18 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 6:58 pm

Dang. Bad luck there.

19 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 6:58 pm

Man, the Indians are beating the tar out of Beckett.
He started off looking so strong, too.

20 OldYanksFan   ~  May 10, 2012 7:02 pm

Beckett gives up 7 ER in 2.1 IP. Indians up 7-1.

21 OldYanksFan   ~  May 10, 2012 7:04 pm

Beckett is gone. (See his line above. ERA at 5.97)

22 Shaun P.   ~  May 10, 2012 7:14 pm

[21] Well, it is an even-numbered year. Ever since he came to Boston:

2006: 5.01 ERA
2007: 3.27 ERA
2008: 4.03 ERA
2009: 3.86 ERA
2010: 5.78 ERA
2011: 2.89 ERA
2012: currently 5.97 ERA

Its like Bret Saberhagen without the injuries. Coincidentally, Saberhagen also suffered in even-numbered years, at least until he left KC.

23 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 7:21 pm

Not worried. That single came with just one out.

24 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 7:21 pm

Or no outs! Hah, it's nothing.

25 rbj   ~  May 10, 2012 7:35 pm

Sigh.

26 OldYanksFan   ~  May 10, 2012 7:35 pm

2 Out RISP fail.

27 Alex Belth   ~  May 10, 2012 7:45 pm

Wow, that was a BOMB.

28 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 10, 2012 7:46 pm

There's Robbie.

29 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 10, 2012 7:47 pm

Alex is hitting some lasers lately.

Damn.

30 Alex Belth   ~  May 10, 2012 7:47 pm

Nice at bats and swings for Alex tonight.

31 Alex Belth   ~  May 10, 2012 7:48 pm

C'mon Mark, join the party now.

32 Alex Belth   ~  May 10, 2012 7:49 pm

I'd let him swing...

33 Alex Belth   ~  May 10, 2012 7:50 pm

Never mind...just stay out of the DP, boys. Need to score at least one more here.

34 Alex Belth   ~  May 10, 2012 7:50 pm

Shit.

35 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 10, 2012 7:52 pm

Coming home to see Cano's blast and Alex's laser, plus the Boston score, is almost enough the erase the pain of seeing my team lose earlier 31-5 (with @ 17 errors). Almost.
Save the Bones!

36 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  May 10, 2012 7:52 pm

What's with all these funky slides into second today?

But way to go, Andruw.

37 Alex Belth   ~  May 10, 2012 7:54 pm

frozen ropes all night...

38 rbj   ~  May 10, 2012 7:56 pm

[35] Oof. And no one wants to hear about character building.

39 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 10, 2012 8:01 pm

I missed the fireworks. If Robbie is back this team can go so much farther!

[35] SEVENTEEN errors? Ouch..

40 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 10, 2012 8:06 pm

Big Fella!

41 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 8:16 pm

I had to listen to the radio for about twenty minutes (driving). When Andruw belted one to the corner, Sterling went into his "It is high, it is far... it is... a base hit!"

42 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 8:19 pm

Pony homer. Sox close to 7-3...

43 Alex Belth   ~  May 10, 2012 8:23 pm

C.C must get Upton here.

44 Alex Belth   ~  May 10, 2012 8:24 pm

The slider. Nasty. Good job big guy.

45 Shaun P.   ~  May 10, 2012 8:25 pm

[41] I think its time for old Silverpipes to retire when this season is done. We all lose our fastball eventually - except MO of course - and I think Sterling is there. The end of the Yanks' contract with WCBS is the perfect time and excuse, too.

46 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 10, 2012 8:26 pm

CC screams striking out Upton. The big man, ladies and gents. NO EARNED RUNS TONIGHT.

47 Shaun P.   ~  May 10, 2012 8:26 pm

[44] The big guy is really something, isn't he? As much as the Montero trade still hurts, I can't fault Cashman for trying to get a right handed CC to go with the actual article.

48 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 10, 2012 8:27 pm

[45] But think how nice those silverpipes will sound in FM stereo.

49 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 10, 2012 8:31 pm

Now what? Can Soriano and Robertson pitch three days straight?

50 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 10, 2012 8:36 pm

Surprised that CC is still in the game. Good thing Nix replaced NunEE at third for those last two plays.

51 rbj   ~  May 10, 2012 8:38 pm

Can we have CC as his own Mo?

I'm still not used to this.

52 Alex Belth   ~  May 10, 2012 8:40 pm

Great job by C.C.

53 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 8:40 pm

[50] Yeah, just thinking that. And [49] I doubt D-Rob can go. Just Soriano, I assume.
And [46] yeah I forgot, the runs were both unearned! Dang.

54 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 10, 2012 8:50 pm

Let the wild rumpus begin!

55 Chyll Will   ~  May 10, 2012 8:51 pm

[45] With E@#$ moving to FM in NY (and taking out one of my favorite stations in the process, grrr), the likelihood of Sterling making the transition is less than half in my opinion. WCBS's radio rights run out at the end of this season if I'm right, and E@#$ is in a great position to sneak in and take those rights, offering a much stronger signal and wider market. I don't see them inviting either Sterling or Suzyn over unless it's for nostalgia's sake or to carry over the fan base and gradually phase them out. However, I have no clue who replaces them (unless they tie into the YES feed; probably not)...

56 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 10, 2012 8:51 pm

Let's see how Soriano performs back in the place he wants to be.

57 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 10, 2012 8:53 pm

[54] :)
[55] "Oh My Gawd, Jahn, we're going to FM! Where's my good-luck ankle bracelet?"

58 rbj   ~  May 10, 2012 8:54 pm

Not going to be fun.

59 Chyll Will   ~  May 10, 2012 8:54 pm

[55] Oops, way to straight-faced and lucid of me, my apologies...

60 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 8:55 pm

[59] Hardly recognized you.

61 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 10, 2012 8:57 pm

How about that?

62 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 8:57 pm

Dat's it.
Good win. Great outing for CC, and some hard hitting by our line-up.

63 rbj   ~  May 10, 2012 8:57 pm

[55] Apocalyptic nightmare scenario: Jim Rome & Colin Cowherd. Now, that won't happen, so whoever it is, it's automatically better.

Yankees win!

64 Chyll Will   ~  May 10, 2012 8:57 pm

[57] I'm just trying to imagine how raucous she'll sound on Sunday.

65 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 10, 2012 8:58 pm

Sori did ok. The run wasn't his doing. I do miss everything Mo especially the broken bats, but nice win. Great game from CC.

66 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 9:00 pm

Vinnie Pestano pitching for Cleveland in the eighth. Four run lead. He's walked three Red Sox. Incredible. Two outs, and three walks. With a four run lead. In the eighth inning.

67 RIYank   ~  May 10, 2012 9:02 pm

Wow, Pony pops out to end the threat. I thought Pestano was going to walk him.

68 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 10, 2012 9:03 pm

[64]I will try to avoid that at all costs.
[63] Heard Colin Cowherd once. Lasted about 2 minutes. Was excruciating.

Yanks win!!! 2 of 3 against the mighty Rays, well done!

69 Chyll Will   ~  May 10, 2012 9:06 pm

[68] He is the chalk on the chalkboard the way Lupica is the needle dragging across a vinyl record.

70 kenboyer made me cry   ~  May 10, 2012 9:09 pm

[69] Cowherd>Lupica in annoyance scale.

71 Chyll Will   ~  May 10, 2012 9:10 pm

[68} And you think Kay on bad on TV? Having your house egged every night for a week is a step up.

72 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 10, 2012 9:14 pm

[71] I was unaware of the radio situation. Thanks for the info. I recall hearing Steinbrenner being on the record for wanting Sterling for as long as he was in charge. He liked him that much. Just can't recall where I heard/read it. I find the possibility of you know who having the rights to Yankee radio a bit disturbing.

73 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 10, 2012 9:15 pm

[71] Kay had his house egged? Sorry, I don't get that one.. :)
If Kay uses the phrase "God Fearing Man" one more time when talking about Andy P and his return I'm going to faint..

74 Alex Belth   ~  May 10, 2012 9:23 pm

Sox lose...again.

75 Chyll Will   ~  May 10, 2012 9:26 pm

[73] No, listening to Kay on E@#$ is like having your house egged... every day for a week... but worse.

76 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 10, 2012 9:27 pm

They Shoulda swept 'em!

77 Alex Belth   ~  May 10, 2012 9:27 pm

Gardner is out another 15-25 days says Girardi, call it a month. Good time for Cano to start hitting because not having Gardner really hurts their line up, never mind the OF defense.

78 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  May 10, 2012 9:36 pm

[75] Ah, I hear ya. Bit slow here on a Friday morning.
[77] Not...good...
