My pal's wife has made two rhubarb pies in the past two weeks. Rhubarb!

This here was a rhubarb compote with a mascarpone mousse, something called brachetto syrup and crushed amaretti cookies on top.

Man was it good.

1) Did she pair the rhubarb with anything?

[2] It was straight rhubarb pie, I think from a Cook's Illustrated recipe. The piece I had on Mother's Day was paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream but I'm not sure if that's what you are talking about.
