"A New York Treasure" --Village Voice

Up All Night

The Yanks are hot, they’ve got the best record in baseball, but…there’s always a but, right? But, no time to get complacent. And there’s always trouble lurking out west. They’ll play four in Oakland starting tonight. Nothing is easy. Keep in rollin’, fellas.

Never mind the late games: Let’s Go Yank-ees!

Four game set against the A's! Yayy, we get to see Cespedes and..umm..Bartolo?

Is Eric Plunk still pitching in the bullpen for them?

2 Boatzilla   ~  Jul 19, 2012 9:25 pm

[1] Plunk. Great name for pitcher.

I wonder if McGwire will be in the line-up tonight.

Hello, anyone on the midnight shift? Arod must have switched directions 5 times on the supposed missed catch in the outfield. It was funny seeing the wide shot.

I just read on LoHud that Gardner will be having surgery on his elbow "to remove inflammed tissue". He's now officially gone for the year. Bummer.

So its CES-ped-es, not ces-PED-es? Either way, he puts Freddy and the Yankees in a 2 run hole.

[2] Joe Rudi?

[3] Here! I love the west coast games, can grab some lunch and chill at my desk with the game on. Rough news abotu Gardner..i have scary images of Ibanez playing LF in important postseason innings...

6 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 19, 2012 9:41 pm

[5] Yeah, probably one or two drives he will not be able to get to. But with back-ups Jones, Wise and probably Dickerson do the Yankees need another outfielder?

What's for lunch in Tokyo?

7 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 19, 2012 9:42 pm

Not so sure that Freddy can pitch in cool weather?

8 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jul 19, 2012 9:44 pm

[6] Dickerson makes the post season roster?

Lunch..good Q. Lot of options around here..had local grub yesterday so I'm thinking an Indian lunch box or big ol' sandwich today..bit slow here at ACME,Inc this afternoon so long lunch and nap is on the menu..

It's a little lonely (no offense OK Jazz), so free association time. It's bring your dog to the ballpark day in Oakland. Singleton said that at least 1000 dogs were paraded on the warning track before the game. Now the dogs are in the seats with their owners. Can you imagine something like that at Yankee Stadium? Never.

You would think they would do the dog day during a game with a team like KC or Baltimore so there would be more room in the stands.

[8] Nah, Dickerson probably won't.

Sounds like a summer Friday at the office in NY.

11 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jul 19, 2012 9:55 pm

[9] Dog Day! Wow..horrible stadium, bland team..I guess they need to do some wacky promotions to bring people in.

12 Boatzilla   ~  Jul 19, 2012 9:56 pm

It's Dog Day at the Coliseum. And I don't mean hot dogs. Let's hear some jokes.

13 Boatzilla   ~  Jul 19, 2012 9:58 pm

[12] I guess I should have it reload before posting that. Sorry, I've had a ruff week.

14 OldYanksFan   ~  Jul 19, 2012 10:02 pm

So they walk their dogs on the warning track so the dogs can go to the bathroom?

15 Boatzilla   ~  Jul 19, 2012 10:06 pm

I imagine Garcia will be on a short leash today.

16 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 19, 2012 10:07 pm

[12] It's a Northern California kind of thing. The Yankees are being restrained on a leash so far tonight. This has all the makings of trap game for the Yankees. Even with the early ending day game yesterday, I'm sure the Yankees were delayed at the airport like everyone else due to the wacky weather yesterday. So far, a little flat, and Freddy is one hit away from it getting away for good.

17 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 19, 2012 10:07 pm

Oops, the hit happened.

18 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 19, 2012 10:08 pm

[14] That would be an improvement for this ball park.

19 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 19, 2012 10:37 pm

This game is trouble. The Yankees seem to be stymied by Griffen, and Freddy is about to give up more.

20 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 19, 2012 10:42 pm

Good job by Freddy in getting out of it. Now, some let's get some East Bay Grease into the score truck bearings, and get some of the runs back.

21 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 19, 2012 10:42 pm

Big echoes and tumbleweeds.

22 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jul 19, 2012 10:44 pm

[21] Back! Pumpkin&Chicken curry lunch box ahoy.

23 Boatzilla   ~  Jul 19, 2012 10:47 pm

This game is for the dogs. Enjoy your Puppy Chow, Jazz.

24 Boatzilla   ~  Jul 19, 2012 10:52 pm

[21] Crickets.

33 thelarmis   ~  Jul 19, 2012 11:19 pm

GI Joe on the guy that (mostly) UPR'ed us tonight:

"He’s a guy that’s just going to pitch."

that's fucking brilliant. i had NO idea the A's pitcher tonight was going to pitch. i bet he's also a "baseball player."

34 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 19, 2012 11:20 pm

Tonight, however, I will howl at the moon.
