This isn’t a holiday that stirs me one way or the other but the idea of giving thanks, well, I’m always down for that. So hell, here’s to being thankful for what we’ve got.

I'm at work for the next few hours (at a relatively new job that I'm very thankful for) but this is my second favorite holiday after Christmas Eve/Day.
I don't think a special occasion should be required to give thanks, but, like you say, Alex, I'm all for it.
My sister claimed the holiday back in 1995 and nobody has fought her for it. And why would we? She has a beautiful home, and always puts out a great feast. My wife and I are only required to bring some wine, a chocolate pudding pie, and our hungry selves.
I have great memories of playing football with my high school friends on Thanksgiving morning, too. I always think of those guys on this day.
1) Nice. I have good football memories of this day, too.
