Go West, You Dudes

Raul Ibanez to the Mariners and, as expected, Nick Swisher to the Indians.

That is all.

For Swisher, it's four years of losing, with an option to continue losing for a fifth year. Hope he enjoys the extra cash.

It's a business. Best of luck to Nick, can't hate a guy who wants to get paid.

I didn't love or hate him. His personality could be grating but I don't think he was a phony. And he was a reliable, solid player. Yanks will miss him.

True, but they won't miss him for 4yrs/$56 mil. If he was that reliable in the playoffs, the conversation would be very different.

I liked Swish and Ibanez, and I wish them well, but I'm not sorry to see them moving on, or the Yankees moving on without them.
I'm not sure how we'll replace their production either, but I'm not worried. I'd like to see them replaced by younger, more athletic players. I think Dickerson will be a nice fourth outfielder.
We do need another right handed bat, but Cash will fine one over the next few weeks.

These fuggin' NY Giants are killing me right now. Ugh.

[5] I think they have to look at what Scranton has to offer now; they do have some heavy bats down there that they haven't given a chance for whatever reason, so this is pretty much a "break glass" situation they can't ignore anymore.
