What the hell is a 'tendon sheath'? I don't even care..It's Mariano and Cano this year for me anyways, with some Captain, Ichiro & CC thrown in. The rest is just..boring ABs by Hafner, Youkilis and whoever catches.
[1] Youks ABs are never boring. You're gonna love him, too. I hope they leave him at 3rd, though.
[2] The WBC is not the problem. It's a scapegoat. If these guys can't play in games when the WBC starts (which is after they have already played some spring training games), they shouldn't be on the field.
Tex was hurt hitting off a tee. That's like getting hurt lacing up your spikes.
I'm thinking that the human body is not really up to the super-human reflexes that today's sporting demands of it. The mindset and the enhancers don't do much to help keep that in perspective, either. Seems to me like sports medicine and (regular) medicine are very counter-intuitive; heal someone as quickly as possible so they can go back out and do the same thing that caused the injury, only faster and more devastating.
Teix claims he hurt himself from overextending himself; while that might be part of the contract, it's kinda silly that we expect athletes to respond at the blink of an eye the same exact way for ten to twenty years. If anything, unfortunately cynical as it sounds, I would take this as an indication that he's likely not using any PEDs; or if he did, he stopped at the wrong time.
At this point, how much worse can it get, really. I figured this was a serious injury. I don't know how Cashman didn't know that this might be season-ending but with the Yankees determined to get below the cap for next year and the big contracts that cannot be dumped, you had to figure this year would be a washout. Won't stop me for rooting for them but anything over .500 will be a surprise to me. Pitching in the regular season can only get you so far. You have to score some runs. I'll root for my old team, the Giants of San Francisco where my wife and I had season tickets from 1981-1990 before moving back here. All those cold nights at Candlestick and the many losing seasons made me treasure all these years rooting for the Yankees because such a long period of winning is really unusual.

[1] But aren't you at least a little excited to see that kid they have down on the farm get a chance in the bigs filling in for Teix?
And remeind me, was Teix hurt during WBC-related activities?
[2] Karim Garcia?
Maybe Cashman should call the Phillies while the gettin's good...
[2][3] You guys continue to slay me..keeping the Banter Comment Ratings high as always!
So Japan goes down to Puerto Rico..DR vs PR in the final. Prediction: A lot of great music coming from the stands.

[6] Hurt hitting off a tee? Tex Pavano'd himself!
[6] Well nah, it wasn't like he did it on his first swing... too much tee.
