Brains is hitting *sixth*.

*wincing*

2 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 5:15 pm

Yeah, he's hitting .360. His OBP is .500.

Turns out, he's Yogi, he was just screwing with us before.

3 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Apr 17, 2013 5:29 pm

hahahahaha!

For real?

Good on Frankie!

4 thelarmis   ~  Apr 17, 2013 5:40 pm

Yogi Brains, haha!

Well, let's hope Frankie Brains hasn't been aided by Biogenesis...

OK, back to teaching...

Go Sabs!!! Go Yanks!!!

5 rbj   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:02 pm

Huh. No Yankee feed on Extree Inningses tonight.

6 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:13 pm

This isn't a good beginning.

7 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:15 pm

Well, that's gonna happen sometimes

8 rbj   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:15 pm

[6] Nope.
Come on, big guy.

9 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:19 pm

[1] Francisco hitting five is more appalling.

10 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:21 pm

Kenny is right: more runs are scored in the first than in any other inning. (And he's right about the reason, too.)

11 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:22 pm

Kenny is usually right

12 rbj   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:22 pm

[9] Yeah, but these spring training games are meaningless. When the season starts we'll have our regular lineup.

13 Ara Just Fair   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:26 pm

Good start, Lil' G.

14 Ara Just Fair   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:29 pm

Well that sucked.

15 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:36 pm

Better.

16 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:48 pm

Damn, Boesch is a whole lot larger than Gritner.

17 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:51 pm

[12] Hahhahaha! Indeed.

18 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:57 pm

You just can't predict baseball.

19 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Apr 17, 2013 6:58 pm

(Listening, Sterling just said it, something about walking Nix conformed to Sterling's Law.)

20 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 7:17 pm

This 3-run hole looks pretty deep.

21 Ara Just Fair   ~  Apr 17, 2013 7:36 pm

[20] Interleague LURP. sigh...

22 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Apr 17, 2013 7:42 pm

Old friend AJ is flirting with a No-No..everyone swtich over to the Pirates game! (Don't hear that often, do ya>)

23 rbj   ~  Apr 17, 2013 7:49 pm

Time for some runs!

24 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Apr 17, 2013 7:51 pm

[22] Omg. God, I forgot all about him. He occupies (perhaps unfairly) the Kyle Farnsworth and Carl what's-his-name corner of my brain.

25 rbj   ~  Apr 17, 2013 7:51 pm

[22] Thanks. Never hated the guy, just frustrated by him. Unlike Pavano.

26 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Apr 17, 2013 7:53 pm

[24] And maybe even what's-his-name is there too, god, what was his name? The guy from Detroit? Lost us that World Series game out of the pen in extra innings against...Florida, was it? The game where Joe didn't bother to bring in Mo? God, what the fuck was his name?

27 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Apr 17, 2013 7:55 pm

Jeff...was he Jeff something?

28 rbj   ~  Apr 17, 2013 7:57 pm

And there goes the no-no.

29 rbj   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:02 pm

I'll take it! A run!

30 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:02 pm

Unbelievable. Unbelievable!

I couldn't see Nix getting an RBI any other way.

31 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:03 pm

[26] Joe Torre is SO wildly overrated as a manager. That was just awful..

32 rbj   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:08 pm

Gritner comes through!

33 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:08 pm

Gritty gritty Gritner!

34 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:08 pm

Hooray!

35 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:08 pm

And here's to Nuñez's speed, and crappy throwing by Snakes!

36 Ara Just Fair   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:09 pm

Well this is better.

37 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:11 pm

[31] The 2004 ALCS was Torre at his worst. And I'm a Torre fan

38 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:15 pm

[26] Jeff Weaver, right?
I just figured out what you were talking about.

39 rbj   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:19 pm

Solo shot & Mo. Is that asking too much?

40 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:21 pm

Nice to see CC go 8. I smell a Cano tater comeing up..

41 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:22 pm

Oh, crap. He tagged it.

42 cult of basebaal   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:23 pm

Nice game from the big man, especially considering the 1st ...

43 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:24 pm

[38] Jesus, thank you! I was still sitting here in agony trying to remember his fucking name.

44 Ara Just Fair   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:24 pm

PRONK!

45 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:25 pm

No way!!!!

46 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:25 pm

[39] Ask and you shall receive...

47 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:25 pm

Damn, that was beautiful.

48 Alex Belth   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:26 pm

Right down Hafner Blvd!

49 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:26 pm

Pronk go crackle-crackle boom-boom!

50 cult of basebaal   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:27 pm

[39] SWEET!

51 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:28 pm

What was Sterling's home run call for Hafner?

52 rbj   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:28 pm

[46] As long as you don't over reach.

53 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:30 pm

{51]
"Travis is a Pronks Bomber"

54 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:30 pm

[51] "Oh, Suzyn, shake that BA-DONK-A-PRONK!"

55 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:31 pm

What's Sterlings HR call for Hafner? "Travis takes a trip around the bases"?

It's fun watching this team right now.

56 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:33 pm

You know, CC hasn't had a start this year that I'd call "bad." Even opening day was really one real bad inning. If he pitches like CC all year without the bad April, he's the Cy Young.

57 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:34 pm

[53] Yeah, that makes sense.

Damn, I missed the first out. Every one is precious.

58 Ara Just Fair   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:37 pm

All Rise.
Another lovely game.

59 RIYank   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:37 pm

And thanks be to Mo.

60 weeping for brunnhilde   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:37 pm

Mariano Rivera, ladies and gentlemen.

Mariano Rivera.

61 Mattpat11   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:37 pm

Now *that's* a good win

62 rbj   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:38 pm

Thank you for my modest request, baseball gods.

This Mo kid has lots of potential, right?

63 OldYanksFan   ~  Apr 17, 2013 8:59 pm

Very, VERY satisfying Win.
When you look totally overmatched, and you seem to have nothing, and the bottom of the order comes up big, that is just beautiful.

Damn... if we started 8-5 with our full squad, I'd be pretty happy. For this slip shod lineup to play like this, is well.... remarkable.

Might not be a lost year after all.
