Right answer, wrong reason. Hal should have seen all along that this plan was un-Yankee and undeserving of George's legacy. It's ironic that slavery to the almighty greenback produced the right result, but I'll take it.

am I the only one who thinks all of this is just leading up to Giancarlo? Like...isn't it kinda obvious??

I saw the column and thought it weak. This Yankee fan hated the legacy of GS. He was an overbearing bore without dignity. He sucked the joy out of winning by not knowing how to handle losing.
As far as payroll goes, speculating about it without knowing the status of Alex is silly. The fact that all the media types are pushing Stanton to be traded is a cheap story without sources. The Marlins have to play the season and mlb needs to pretend it is a viable team. The formula for success is to produce your own players and add a free agent or a trade as a supplement. Not the other way around.

Did you guys read Goldman's piece? Did Alex link to it and I'm just slow on the uptake?
