Always wondered what made Leiter great. Seemed to me he shot more like a painter than a photographer. Interesting that the Whitney has a Hopper show. They were very much alike. Then again, Diane, his friend, also claimed Hopper influences.
Shot like a painter...maybe that's why I love him.
