I'm working on Allman Brothers transcriptions right now! Butch Trucks is teaching a seminar in the Catskills and asked me to write his instruction sheets. Fun project!

It's a good illustration of the notion that one of the key influences on the Brothers was Miles' late 50s quintet with Coltrane and Adderley - the twin saxes versus the two lead guitarists.

Beautiful.

Odd trivia: apparently, Mick actually sings, "Skydog slaver" in Brown Sugar, which they recorded at Muscle Shoals, as a nod to Duane. That's what Keith writes in "Life."

But is it really true?

[4] Highly doubtful. Also, that would be a pretty hideous way to pay tribute to Duane. These are guys who spent 2 days in jail because they wanted to eat breakfast with their drummer.
