David Phelps was so horseshit last night he didn’t make it out of the first inning. The Yanks were so horseshit as they let a horseshit team kick their ass at home by the tune of 9-4.
The game was, in a word–you guessed it: horseshit.
Moving right along…
[0] Alex, do I take it by your increasingly short and laconic game summaries that you are as bored with this team as I am?
No, not at all. I just don't have the time to always write about them. I am really enjoying the team but have so many other writing interests that game recaps, which are generally dull to write, fall to the side. Plus, in this case, there wasn't much to write about. LOL
Talk about rooting for laundry, this line-up is mind-boggling. I just can't get too up or down about anything ... My personal investment in the team is pretty small. I mean, when Gardner is one of the two most "core" players in the lineup, it's weird.
And this is not a bugaboo of mine or anything but that lineup sure was full of white guys ... Conspiracy?!
* Just said "lineup" three times in five sentences spelt two different ways, my bad
the last 4 games notwithstanding, this team has been a lot of things this year...boring ain't one of them
meh. Every team every year has a bad stretch.
New game tonight.
[6] But this game seemed more like Stretch Armstrong vs. Plastic Man >;)
[7] Heh. I expect Phelps will go on the DL.
[8] Ah, ok. It just seemed to me that there is less and less baseball content here---besides game summaries, general discussions of the team, upcoming opponents, etc seem to have completely disappeared. I sensed, incorrectly it seems, a general malaise regarding the organization. I guess I am projecting my own increasing loss of interest. I too have less and less time these days, and what spare time I have is less and less devoted to baseball...or rather, I should say less and less is devoted to the Yankees, who have as an organization sucked a lot of joy out of the game for me.
9) I don't share your feelings about the Yankees, as a team or as an organization but I think you're right--there is less baseball stuff here than there used to be. But mostly, that's because blogging about baseball is often boring to me and there are so many sites that do it well. I enjoy the Banter as much now as ever before but mostly because it's an eclectic site with less focus on one team or one sport. But I still watch the Yanks every night.
