Meanwhile, the Spurs and Heat play Game 7 of the NBA Finals in Miami. I say the Spurs win by at least 10.
Never mind “the narrative”:
Let’s Go Yank-ees! (And Spurs.)

[0] I don't follow the NBA---usually at all---but I have found these finals compelling. I think the Spurs win as well, unless Ginobili single-handedly throws the game, like he did in game six. The poor guys was brutal.
[0] With the return of Hafner to the lineup, .224/.266/.372/.638 drops from cleanup to fifth.
Hoo-boy.
Nope, I say the Heat win a close one.
[0] Spurs by at least 10?!? Bold prediction. Sure hope you're right.
Meanwhile, in serious WTF? news:
New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has not been ruled out as a suspect in the execution-style murder of a semi-pro football player, law enforcement sources told ABC News on Thursday.
[+] EnlargeAaron Hernandez
Mike Rodak, ESPNBoston.com Aaron Hernandez was approached by reporters Thursday as he pumped his gas.
Hernandez, 23, has been at the center of the investigation since the body of Odin Lloyd, 27, was found shot in the back of the head Monday in an industrial park near Hernandez's home in North Attleborough, Mass.
Sources told ABC News the home security system at Hernandez's home, along with his cellphone, were destroyed. Police were at Hernandez's home again Thursday with another search warrant based on evidence that Hernandez "destroyed his home security system," an investigator close to the case told ABC.
The investigator and other law enforcement sources, confirmed the security system was smashed intentionally. Hernandez's cellphone was handed over to investigators "in pieces" by his attorneys, sources added.
Police also want to know why a team of house cleaners were hired on Monday to scrub Hernandez's mansion, sources told ABC News.
Great "way to play the game" Rays. 2 Ks & a flyout.
[5] Yeah. He could be in a heap of trouble. Sure looks suspicious.
That was some rip by Myers.
(5) Unless Rex Ryan planted evidence.
WInfield's in the house!
[9] my favorite player when I played in Little League. I patterned myself after him; even the way I let the bat fly out of my hands...
Isn't it terrible that with this pitiful lineup the game seems already over?
Dang, just missed.
Seriously, how long will they keep Wells on the roster? Is this Girardi, playing him out of spite? Or is this a Cashman thing?
[13] But, but ... he's working with "K-Long"!
He's going to be "short to the ball"!!!
[14] I root for the laundry, but I am actually at the point where I don't care if I see any individual player on this roster...I really don't look forward to any given pitcher, or any given at bat. Even with those horrid late 80s teams, I would still get up to watch Mattingly take his hacks, for example. But this team? forget about it.
I think a lot of guys have turned back into pumpkins.
C'mon Robbie.
Be the RIPPER!
[16]
Board Member 1: I've never heard of half of these guys and the ones I do know are way past their prime.
Charlie Donovan: Most of these guys never had a prime.
Rachel Phelps: The fact is we lost our two best players to free agency. We haven't won a pennant in over thirty-five years, we haven't placed higher than fourth in the last fifteen. Obviously it's time for some changes.
Board Member 2: This guy here is dead!
Rachel Phelps: Cross him off, then!
Well at least Robbie got one ribbie.
Decent rip from Robbie.
Good at bat.
3 runs ... it's an avalanche!!!
.221
three runs. Not bad.
Oh well, Joba is warming, so much for this game ...
Oy.
About time to switch to Game 7, anyways ...
"Teach that bat a lesson if it doesn't get a hit for you".
I assume I'd get tired of Paulie if he was on every game, but he's a blast in small doses ...
Jeez, who didn't see that coming.
[27] Really? I find him jock-ish and irritating.
Game 7 a bit sloppy so far..both teams too tired from Game 6?
Wow, is no one following Game 7? Two awesome teams, 4th Q coming up!
Sloppy game but compelling. Shit, it's a 2 point game with less than 9 minutes left in the season. Pretty great. Just when you think the Heat are going to go on a run the Spurs hang in. Okay, so maybe the Spurs won't win by 10 but I still say they win this sucker.
.221/.263/.368/.631
Spurs can't take of the gd basketball!
If I'm the Heat I want a 5-6 point lead to be 9-10. Anything less, Spurs hang in, and miracles can happen. Heat are winning because they are canning jumpers. But you know that shit can disappear quickly. They haven't been able to get to the line all game. I know Lebron has been great but I don't want him holding the ball settling for anymore 3's if I'm Miami. Spurs need to fucking hold on to the fucking ball.
Holy crap, this is thrilling!
[34] Ginobili's killing them two games in a row, though he has made a few plays tonight.
"Hearts are racing, heads are pounding, palms are sweating, it's Game 7 of the NBA Finals," Breen.
I hope the Heat lose on a last second heave. : )
[38] Opposite for me! Huge LeBron fan. Both these teams are superb though. Amazing how infinitely more exciting this is than watching the Yankees these days. :)
21 years old. Damn.
Missed a layup!!!! Shit!
Too many missed chances for the Spurs.
Duncan missed it! Too tense..
Lebron!! When in doubt, take the best player!
And another turnover by Ginobili...that should ice it.
It's that last Spurs play that I've seen too much from them. WTF! Just jump in the air with nowhere to go. Stupid.
Pop hugging LeBron and Wade..wow. Wonderful series.
In the end, the Heat had the talent and Spurs had only Duncan.
48) Uh, and Mr. Leonard.
Heartbreaking for Duncan missing the chip shot and tip in. Shades of Patrick's missed finger roll. Good for James, he was great tonight when he needed to be. Exciting series.
Good call on the Ewing finger roll. Duncan's reaction, the stoic warrior pounding the floor, was also sad to see. Dude wanted it more than just about anyone, openly admitting as much in interviews.
They played hard. They didn't play a great game tonight but their resolve can't be questioned. Got to feel for Duncan though, unlike Patrick, at least he's got 4 rings to keep him company. That doesn't remove the sting from this one of course but in the long run it should help some.
Also, Pop hugging the Miami coaches, Wade and James, was cool. He almost seemed relieved, of good humor in the post-game interview. Never seen that side of him. It was nice.
Glad to see the news here first. Congrats to LeBron, Wade and Company for the win, thanks to the Spurs for helping to give basketball fans an exciting Finals to watch and good riddance to David Stern. Good morning!
