My favorite story about Dolly happened when she was on the set of Steel Magnolias. Julia Roberts tells about how it was extremely hot and they all had to dress in warm clothes since the scene that day was supposed to be in the winter. Then the power goes out and no one has any air conditioning or fans to keep cool. Well, as you can imagine there were a lot of upset folks running around griping and complaining. Julia noticed Dolly just sitting on the porch with sweat pouring off of her but she was smiling and calm as could be. Julia asked her, "Dolly, does all of this stuff not bother you?" Dolly just replied, "Honey, when I was a very little girl all I ever wanted was to be rich and famous. And now that I am, you ain't going to hear me complaining."
