From Black Book:
“It’s been a favorite feeling in my whole life to be able to communicate without talking,” Harry Dean Stanton once said. “Communicating in silence in a powerful thing.”

A great example is his small turn in The Straight Story as the stricken brother of Richard Farnsworth's Alvin Strait, who rides a lawn mower 800 miles to visit him after they had a falling out thirty-plus years before. The scene with the two of them seeing each other again after such a long time is amazingly quiet and moving; few words are exchanged, but the expressions and subtle reactions are more powerful and full of emotion than words could express. A David Lynch film, one of my favorites.
