Couple of games today. First, the Red Sox will beat Justin Verlander in Detroit. Later, the Cards will take a 3-1 NLCS lead in Los Angeles.

Least that’s how I see it.

Never mind me: Let’s Go Base-ball!

Poor Lackey, the beard actually helps his looks. Keeps the drool off his chin.

Is there a less likeable Red Sock than John Lackey? Now that Beckett is gone, I mean.

4 RIYank   ~  Oct 15, 2013 4:53 pm

That's more like it.
I think (or maybe it's just hope?) the Tigers are starting to draw a bead on Lackey's cutter.

Oh boy, Andy Dirks.

6 RIYank   ~  Oct 15, 2013 5:01 pm

Good work, Andy. Didn't make us suffer through a long terrible AB.

Detroit's starters have shut down the Sox.

18 innings pitched and the Sux scored 1 run on 3 hits.

Justin, relax, forget that lightweight. Just get the outs. No Papi with men on base, please.

Good!
Now My Little Strikeout, and the Tigers will rough up Mouth-Breather.

Easy enough. Good work.

10 rbj   ~  Oct 15, 2013 5:24 pm

Dayum, they're both averaging 2 Ks an inning.

11 RIYank   ~  Oct 15, 2013 5:25 pm

Ugh. How has Lackey shut down the Tigers with that junk?

12 RIYank   ~  Oct 15, 2013 5:32 pm

ARGH.
Dammit.

13 RIYank   ~  Oct 15, 2013 5:46 pm

Let's hope Farrell leaves Lackey in too long. Probably already has.

14 RIYank   ~  Oct 15, 2013 5:48 pm

Nope.
I mean, he was a pitching coach, so this part of the game he does know.

15 rbj   ~  Oct 15, 2013 5:51 pm

Come on RS bullpen, you can blow this, we have faith in you.

16 RIYank   ~  Oct 15, 2013 5:53 pm

And predictably, the LOOGY walks the weak-hitting lefty.

17 rbj   ~  Oct 15, 2013 5:53 pm

Crap.

Omar Infante.
He doesn't suck as much as he looks like, does he? His numbers aren't that bad.

Sigh.

No one wins 1 to 0. Someone will score again. Good pitching beats good pitching and vice-versa.

I feel the game starting to slip away here... (Namely, when Drew advances on Hunter's error.)

21 RIYank   ~  Oct 15, 2013 6:15 pm

Signs of life...

22 rbj   ~  Oct 15, 2013 6:18 pm

Oh, Miggy!

23 RIYank   ~  Oct 15, 2013 6:20 pm

Torture.

24 rbj   ~  Oct 15, 2013 6:22 pm

Yargh, Prince.

25 RIYank   ~  Oct 15, 2013 6:22 pm

That was no fun at all.

26 rbj   ~  Oct 15, 2013 6:42 pm

Come on Jhonny.

27 rbj   ~  Oct 15, 2013 6:42 pm

Blergh.

28 rbj   ~  Oct 15, 2013 6:46 pm

Fuck

Never mind.

The old "pinch runner who just stands there" play is my faaaaaaaaavorite. Right up there with NFL coaches who ignore a ticking 0:23 clock.

Holy Christ did that suck. Cabrera playing hurt was never so evident than in his 8th inning at bat, going way out of the zone of 2 of those pitches.

Last 2 loses must seem like 8 loses in a row for the Tigers. Lucky for them they are only down 2-1.

32 RIYank   ~  Oct 15, 2013 7:41 pm

[31] Yeah, as infuriating as those games were for us, imagine being a Tiger fan. Gawd.
