I had noticed that his throws to 1st base were unusually fast, but didn't know fielders throws were being monitored. I guess someone should ask TEX how his left Palm feels!
Checked with my daughter who lives in the East Village to see if it was close. Hope the damage is only goods not people.
Alex really is a baseball nerd. In spite of all the nonsense I hope he can find a way to stay in the game.
I saw Phil Rizzuto play later in his career. He was super quick in the field but used a quick release to compensate for an average arm. I'm sure that most Banterers know that Shaun Dunston was the 80 that scouts compare all arms to. If Didi is close we really have something. Of course, getting comfortable with Drew is a waste of time. He will not last until June.
[4] I certainly hope that the Yanks view Drew as a stopgap until one of the younger guys is deemed ready. Planning for him to be your everyday and incumbent starter is almost like planning for failure.
[5] It never bothers me when the Yanks don't overpay for free agents or refuse to re-sign at a silly number. However, having to watch Brian Roberts, Kelly Johnson and now Stephen Drew when there are younger alternatives really annoys me.
6) I appreciate where you are coming from but it seems as if the Yanks are placing a priority on fielding and Drew, even as a converted SS, seems to fit that better than their younger alternatives. Also, Drew is a one-year guy, less than that if he doesn't perform. But in spirit, I hear what you're sayin'...

Building collapsed in the East Village. Hope all the banterers are o.k.
Just heard that. Awful, man.
