Got to love baseball. Riding high on Tuesday, dumpsville come Thursday. Not only did the Yanks blow a winnable game last night in Texas–about which the less said the better far as I’m concerned–Michael Pineda is hurt, and the Blue Jays got David Price–to go with Tulo.
The talk now is that they are making a push for Craig Kimbrel or Aroldis Chapman which is certainly interesting, and indicates the Yanks are aiming for a killer bullpen and not an expensive starter (I’d guess that Adam Warren would go back to the rotation should a trade go through).
Anyhow, it was a long, mostly forgettable day.
Let’s hope today gives brighter news.
Ok, here's what I want to see happen:
1. Go get Chapman or Kimbrel. Demote Goody.
2. Move CC to long relief. He's been terrible. Maybe this would actually help hm.
3. Move Warren to #4 starter.
4. Call up Severino to replace Pineda. If Severino can't be traded for Price or Cueto then he should be pitching in the major leagues.
5. DFA Drew. I'd almost like to then re-sign him and DFA him again because I'm so pissed off that the Yankees have held onto him this long.
6. Stick Ackley at second for the rest of the year.
Brian Cashman, are you reading this?
Since Brian is reading this I say do nothing. Stop sending CC out every few days and keep all your young players that project as major leaguers. Build a team that will contend for a long time unlike Toronto which will flame out quickly.
Cash. has been trying to get Ackley for a long time. He was projected to be a great hitter coming out of UNC. The Yanks had him way up on their draft board even ahead of Trout. He, however, is not a good defender.
One thing I'm sure of--Cash will make a move today.

Word the fuck up!!!!
[1] [4] seriously. i'm on board.
bye bye, Mr. Jones.
Garrett gone, Ackley in.
so long, esmil. enjoy korea.
Esmil Rogers to Korea.
They didn't say whether it was North or South.
cespedes to the muts!
yawn. i miss the 80s.
Standing pat.
I'm ok with that.
So DFA'ing Garrett Jones means that Ackley is going to mostly play outfield. Blech. OR, the Yanks are trying to build the greatest collection of poor hitting second basemen the world has ever seen.
Paging Mr. Severino.
[2] perhaps Cash was reading and could not making the Kimbrel trade happen without screwing the pooch on my idea about Severino.
I guess. The scribes are reporting a near miss with Kimbrel from SD. for Jorge Mateo a 20 year old SS. Last time I looked he had 71 stolen bases. Good pinch runner for the playoffs.
Let's get two in Chicago.
Severino coming up. Now that's good news.
[2][15] Told y'all Brian was reading. ;)
