The Mighty Mighty Blue Birds are in town this weekend; next weekend, the Yanks go up to Toronto. Be interesting to see what shakes out. From the looks of it, there should be many runs scored.
I’ve doubted Nathan Eovaldi many times this season only to be pleasantly surprised. Tonight, with Toronto’s Gashouse Gorillas on a roll, I just can’t see him doing well. Again, hope I’m wrong.
R.A. Dickey, another infuriating knuckleballer, goes for the Jays. Hey, so long as the Yanks don’t get swept, we’ll be able to digest.
Never mind the Heebie Jeebies:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!

i'm a bit nervous about this weekend as well. but, ya know what? fuck those blow jays. let's sweep their asses!
GO YANKS!!!
Alex, please have a bit more faith and hope for another series win.
Smells like a Friday night! Next Friday I'll be at the game in Toronto. : )
Biggest series in awhile and the moat seats are half empty?
Let's Go Yankees!
For fuck's sake!
Jesus, these guys are monsters.
This is not the Eovaldi I was looking for. I hate the blue jays. Whoo. One more out, Meat!
C'mon Eovaldi!
Muscle Up and get Russell here, man!
So many pitches. Oy!
Didn't get the call but it wasn't a strike. Good idea, just missed.
Good comment by Cone about A-Rod telling Eovaldi, '98 at the knees is like 92, you just got to drop the bat head and it's gone'.
These Jays are scary..
Nice! I have big hopes for Nathan but he drives me nuts.
These guys remind me of the Texas Rangers and Indians of the '90s. They all seem stacked. Tulo just missed a home run--that ball was in the air forever, and Donaldson's homer came off a not too terrible pitch, he was just talented enough to drive it over the short porch in right. Nice hitting.
Just what the Yankees needed. Another knuckleballer. rats.
The way the Jays are hitting the ball, they might just score a jillion runs tonite.
Bollocks. He didn't need to dive for that. Cadillac man.
Def a fucking homer
Yeah baby!!!!
Was that the slowest trot around the bases in baseball history?
Headley is a few sandwiches short of a picnic.
Either Headley or the first base coach failed. Or both.
tex is a fucking badass!!!
Big Series! Friday Gigantico! Dickey Sucks, the Yanks will have a four run inning soon.
Let's go Yankees!
I was able to go to the game last night. It truly was a big crowd at the stadium, and tickets were mediumly difficult to get. Really fun, tight game. And CC pulled it out. Those walks to Bradley Jr by CC and Miller were both weird to see. The plate had a force field around it.
Sit down Donaldson! Eo looks good (I missed the first inning).
Lonely. People have lives Friday night.
Is this thing broken?
Tex error. He's got credit in the bank.
Eo fugged by two dribblers.
[26] Sat morning here and am lurking while looking into local little leagues for my boy. Betances is in!
Get this chump out, Delllin! And throw strikes FFS!
Excitement time. Eo pitched a great game. Dellin sometimes needs a moment to get his range.
Can the Yanks steal a single bag against a knuckleballer please?
Why slap one down the gaping hole ar 3rd base when you can pop up to the screen?
113 pitches by Dickey. How many more?
Beata sweet.
Hawkins is older than Dickey and Alex.
LaTroy Hawkins! I love veteran relievers. Hawk is joining that Kent Tekulve & Jessie Orosco club.
[38] dont forget No Tell Dotel, but Kay stole it from me
The Yanks needed one run. Running Gardner may have been a good idea. Just saying.
[39] Oh, he pitched for everyone too at some point.
My boy throws lefty, I'm going to prep him for LOOGY duty. Long career, only one job to succeed in.
Now win this thing.
Walk it off, fellas! Let's go!
I want a walkoff!
And, yeah, we shoulda been running on the knuckler....
Brett Cecil still a Jay? He's been there like 8 years.
Balls.
Got to figure Donaldson gets a big hit now, right?
That was a disgusting good double play.
Miller threw 6 pitches!! WTF is Girardi doing with Braden Pinder (who?) facing these guys??
Unfortunately that was predictable.
Goddamn fucking Joey Bats.
FUCK!
Total fucking stupidity. You take out your closer and bring in a nobody to face one of the best power hitters in the game???
I'm not following. 6 pitches? Really?! And GI Joe put a rookie in for extras during the most important game of the year?
Double plus ungood
[52] you might want your closer tomorrow?
[53] Inexplicable. If Miller can't face the heart of the lineup the why is he the closer? This loss will totally be on Girardi and I hope someone calls him on it post-game.
[54] 6 pitches. Six.
That was fast. Get them tomorrow.
I'm not thinking about tomorrow. I'm with Jazz on this. NO excuse for taking Miller out. None.
Great job by Eovaldi. Dickey matched him and it came down to one mistake. Bummer of a loss. Fucking Bautista. What a fucker.
[56] it's more than the counted pitches, it's the warming up too. Miller had a stressful inning yesterday, and if there is any chance for him to pitch tomorrow, he had to come out after one tonight.
This isn't the playoffs, or a win at any cost game.
Usually I'm with you but this one was worth 2 and with Price tomorrow and Dellin not available he will be kicking himself on the home to Purchase.
Lately, the Yankees have a good chance facing Price.
