And away we go. Pretty hot here

2 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 12:23 pm

Wow, the Orioles suck.

3 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 12:25 pm

Why does Didi bat 8th? That makes no sense to me.

4 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 12:32 pm

Uh oh, this isn't good. Corners with nobody out.
A big K would look good right now, Mike.

5 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 12:34 pm

Whereas that didn't look good at all.

6 rbj   ~  Sep 7, 2015 12:34 pm

Crap. I woke up to that?

7 rbj   ~  Sep 7, 2015 12:38 pm

What the hell?

8 rbj   ~  Sep 7, 2015 12:40 pm

Got a bad feeling about this game.

9 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 12:44 pm

[8] ya think?

10 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 12:45 pm

The Orioles actually gave us both outs of this inning. Maybe they'll give us another.

11 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 7, 2015 12:51 pm

Big Pine shit the bed that inning. Oi!

12 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:12 pm

Nice, Chris Young!

Now, we need a homer.

13 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:13 pm

That was a sneaky run, the Yanks are back in the game, but Bird looks a little helpless hitting against the lefty Chen.

14 MSM35   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:14 pm

If the Club can hold them at four, a win is very possible.

15 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:18 pm

We get a run back, then Mike issues a leadoff walk. Ugh.

16 MSM35   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:26 pm

Sox doing work. Buehrle in Fenway is not a good match. Hope Porcello can keep them down.

17 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:29 pm
18 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:31 pm

Word. Keep it going, fellas!

19 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:33 pm

What a useless fucking ab.

20 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:35 pm

Game of inches. A little luck, Yanks tie.

21 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:36 pm

Let's go Red Sox!

22 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:38 pm

Balls.

23 rbj   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:47 pm

Yay-Rod!

Creeping back in

24 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:48 pm

A-ROD!!

25 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:48 pm

[17] haha, awesome!

[21] i know, right? : ~

26 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:50 pm

I like it.

27 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:52 pm

the kid needs acting lessons.

28 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:53 pm

Walked him anyhows

29 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:55 pm

please walk murphy please walk murphy please walk murphy

30 rbj   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:55 pm

Murphy's law: see pitch, hit home run!

31 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:56 pm

WOW!!!!

He didn't walk Murphy!

32 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:56 pm

we're winning!!!

33 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:56 pm

What is the Sterling home run call for Murphy? Anybody know?

34 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:56 pm

Yay!!!!! JRM! Must win today, with Boston getting BJs

35 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:57 pm

shit sox just gave up another run...

36 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:58 pm

Sláinte!

37 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 1:58 pm

Yeah, don't count your Blue Jays before they're hatched.
The Sox squandered an opportunity to put the game away (bases loaded one out), now Justin Smoaks a homer.
I'm sure Boston is still the favorite, mathematically speaking... but it's hard to feel that way.

38 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:01 pm

[33] John Ryan sent one flyin'

39 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:05 pm

Come on, Mike, one more out.

40 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:05 pm

[38] Oof, appropriately cheesy.

41 MSM35   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:08 pm

Went out for a few minutes. Missed 2 homers. OK with that.

42 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:08 pm

Nice finish, Mike!

43 rbj   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:08 pm

Nice recovery, Pineda.

44 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:09 pm

Big Pine never really had it today, but he muscled through, and might even get a win

45 MSM35   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:10 pm

Don't know if the Jays can come back. They have rarely been behind.

46 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:11 pm

Oh my god.
Stephen Drew is pinch hitting.

Isn't there someone we could call up, or a wire pick-up, or something?

47 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:15 pm

schoop? nope!

48 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:15 pm

[46] i'm available.

49 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:16 pm

[45] well, they're threatening. of course.

50 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:16 pm

Ells has to steal here, no?

51 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:17 pm

Whew, the Jays had two on with one out, but Tulo just hit a screamer right to the 2nd baseman for an unassisted DP.

52 MSM35   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:18 pm

Tulo just hit into a dp with men on. He really hasn't done that much for them.

53 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:18 pm

[51] phew

54 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:20 pm

[50] yes, methinks.

[51] whew.

chase with another chance. make 'em pay.

55 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:20 pm

I always enjoy the whew/phew echo. I don't know why. It's usually a kind of duet between me and rbj.

56 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:21 pm

crap. that's a lot of running for rbj.

57 MSM35   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:21 pm

Sox add on.

58 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:21 pm

JB jr just homered for two, 7-2 Sox!

59 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:22 pm

[55] yup. i always anticipate it.

60 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:22 pm

[58] i feel dirty. at least it wasn't Markus.

61 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:23 pm

[55] from Quera on line:

All phews are whews but not all whews are phews

phew /fyoÍžo/ Exclamation:Expressing a strong reaction of relief.

whew /hyoÍžo/ Exclamation:Used to express surprise, relief, or a feeling of being very hot or tired.

62 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:26 pm

Hm, that's interesting. I don't think I've ever said or heard 'whew' to express surprise. A feeling of being hot or tired, yes.

63 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:26 pm

This Chase on the corner is consumer friendly.

64 rbj   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:26 pm

Dammit!

65 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:26 pm

Oh, fug, really?
Damn.

66 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:27 pm

I hate hate hate Machado.

67 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:27 pm

I mean, that was a looooong home run.

68 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:28 pm

Wilson better settle down.

69 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:28 pm

Xander drives in Markus to extend the Boston lead.

70 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:29 pm

Yeah, why was Warren recused, anyway? Is he in the dock, or what?

71 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:30 pm

Okay, well.
Now we'll need runs.

72 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:33 pm

FUCK!

73 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:38 pm

Good start, here we go!

I don't think Greg Bird can bunt. I'm just guessing.

74 MSM35   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:38 pm

Bird bunt?

75 MSM35   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:38 pm

Maybe send up Ryan and have him play first.

76 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:40 pm

No wonder Nadal was out early in the U.S. Open. He made that ridiculous underwear commercial.

77 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:41 pm

No bunting for the Birdman!!!!!!!

78 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:42 pm

Word to Big Bird!

79 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:42 pm

Hell yes.

I just love it when Joe decides not to put on a play and he gets rewarded. This will reinforce his confidence in the future.

80 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:43 pm
81 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:44 pm

FYI...I found a bunch of Yankee gifs on line.

82 rbj   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:45 pm

Geez, I should go let the dogs out more often.

83 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:46 pm

[81] Yes you did.

84 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:47 pm

ooh, what happened?

i missed the tying homer and our 3 runs...

85 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:48 pm

oh, i'm seeing it now.

so, first and second and bird tried to bunt them over? did he foul off the first two or something?

i'll take the blast...and the lead!

86 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:49 pm

[84] Machado machoed one about 440 feet to center.
Bird came up with runners on first and second and nobody out, and he definitely did not bunt. Crushed an 0-2 pitch into the bleachers.

87 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:49 pm

[84] wasn't [72] about the tying home HR?
[83] you want it to stop?

88 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:49 pm

No, he didn't try to bunt.
He doesn't do the bunt thing. Fortunately.

89 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:50 pm

[87] Hey, good point. Thelarmis, what was that 'FUCK' if you missed the Machado homer?

No, keep 'em coming, kb!

90 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:51 pm

I know, he probably hit himself in the eye with a drumstick.

91 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:52 pm

JB jr knocks in another run, 9-2.

92 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:53 pm

Every day Dellin? It's getting worrisome. With a three run lead could they use a committee with short leases?

93 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:53 pm
94 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:54 pm

Uh oh.

95 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:55 pm

Unfuckingbelievable.

96 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:55 pm

right, right...

i came back and saw the game was tied, hence the FUCK!

i came back again and saw the extra runs and comments about bunting. thought maybe GI Joe had Bird square away.

throw STRIKES, tall guy!

jesus fuck. you gotta be kidding me.

97 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:56 pm

please don't deliver an earl weaver special.

schoop hurts us...

98 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:57 pm

Jackie Bradley Jr is beginning to worry me. His first season and the beginning of this one he looked like a great fielder who couldn't hit at all. But in the past month his OPS is something like 1.300. If he's figured it out, they'll have an extremely good outfield for a long time.

99 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:57 pm

alright, 0-2 again.

don't lose him!

100 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:57 pm

hey, a strike-em-out!

howzabout a quick dp now?

Show/Hide Comments 101-139
101 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:58 pm

Larry Rothschild is obviously a genius.
WTF did he say???

102 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 2:59 pm

another strike-em-out!!

8 balls in a row, 6 strikes in a row.

103 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:00 pm

Larry, get back out there.

104 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:00 pm

[102] And then four more balls in a row.

Very weird.

105 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:00 pm

This is some schizophrenic bullshit.

106 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:00 pm

ugh. now he's back to a bunch of balls in a row.

paging larry...

107 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:02 pm

Oh, man. If he got that third strike there, that would have been one of the most amazing innings I've seen.

108 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:02 pm

ah, he ruined it!

woulda been awesome to strike him out on 3 pitches right there.

109 rbj   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:03 pm

Phew!

110 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:03 pm

Wow, that was amazing. That was really amazing.

111 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:03 pm

Whew!

112 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:03 pm

Nice temper tantrum, dude. Lol... phew.

113 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:04 pm

full count.

of course!

114 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:04 pm

Three walks! Three strikeouts! No damage...

115 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:04 pm

he struck him out!!!

phew/whew : )

116 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:05 pm

[114] well, lotsa pitches...

toronto got a couple back...

117 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:09 pm

Man, I can't get over that inning.
you see something new every game. Although not as new as that most games.
Can't predict baseball.

118 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:13 pm

Bird beats Orioles? Is that some type of species cleansing?

119 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:14 pm

Big Tubi walks and Travis Shaw homers, double-digits for the Sox. 11-4. Even their bullpen should be able to hold that lead.

120 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:15 pm

there's one!

121 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:15 pm

[118] Nature red in tooth and claw.

122 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:16 pm

there's two!!

123 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:16 pm

Although I guess birds don't have teeth. So, just claw.

124 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:17 pm

Nature red in beak and claw.

125 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:18 pm

Grrrrrrrrrrr.. 1 more out!

126 rbj   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:19 pm

Not liking this.

127 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:19 pm

Sigh.
Andrew has been great, but he doesn't make things easy.

128 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:20 pm
129 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:20 pm

Ballgame over, Yankees WIN!

130 rbj   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:20 pm

Phew!!!

131 Ara Just Fair   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:20 pm

Sweet. Fun win. Cheers, all.

132 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:20 pm

it's never easy, huh.

this game is...laborious.

[really surprised RI hasn't said that yet.]

133 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:20 pm

hey, wait.

my roku is slow. not fair!

0-1 to paredes.

134 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:21 pm

0-2

135 thelarmis   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:21 pm

he struck him out!

hey, we won!!! : )

136 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:21 pm

Considering how the games in NY and Bos started, the outcomes are fab. Good Yankee win.

137 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:22 pm

Oh, sorry thelarmis.

Your Roku is a goodly amount of time behind.

138 RIYank   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:23 pm

Yay, it's over, Jays lose.

139 Alex Belth   ~  Sep 7, 2015 3:55 pm

It wasn't easy but damn that's a satisfying win. What a weird, weird inning for Betances. Way to go Greg Bird!
