Cubs, Cards followed by Mets, Dodgers.
Figure the Cards will win and the Mets too.
Never mind the foliage:
Let’s Go Base-ball!

Well that didn't take long
Rough start. And Big John is usually tough in these spots.
Eat shit, Lackey. Howd that 3 run job taste?
Ah, mix'n'match.
Three outs away for the Cubbies.
One down
Two down
Last strike
Three down!
Nice work, Cubbies.
Yay Cubs.
Go Kershaw!
Man, this Dodgers lineup is nothing to write home about.
Guess I gotta go for the Mutts
Not good for them. Hell, shit sox have one three Whirled Seriousi, why not the Cubbies?
It's all about the Cubs. Wouldn't it be nice?
Well that sucked. We gotta get it done in LA.
I don't get how you guys can be rooting against the Mets. Our cross-town frenemies. I never hated the Mets. They've never been worth hating. Every year I root for a Subway Series so we can show them who's boss.
Who did you guys root for in the 86 Series? To me the Cubs are the pre-Esptein Red Sox of the NL.
[15] To some people these are words of peace, to others they're fightin' words, but here's how I've always put it: The Mets are the Yankees' little brothers.
I'm happy when they do well, don't wish them ill out of the blue. But when it's brother vs. brother, make no mistake. It's on.
(15) & (16)
I'm rooting for the Dodgers and Donnie. I hate the Mets. Why? When they were created, my elementary schoolmates who had been Dodger and Giant fans all jumped on the Mets' bandwagon, and vilified the Yanks (who I had steadfastly supported). Playground fights ensued. Still can't stand them.
[15] don't hate the Mets, and they have some very likable players; Granderson will always be a fav. Their young pitching is an inspiration. In '69 as a 12 year old it was exciting to see them win it all. But I'm a Yankees fan, and it hurt to see the Mets success while the Yankees were lost in the wilderness.
Why shouldn't the Cubs get the chance? I know this is blasphemy but I kinda like Joe Maddon and happy he manages now in the other league. Theo deserves props, and if he can reverse two curses (Bambino and Billy Goat) in one career he'll end up in Cooperstown. And the Cubs have some very exciting young players. I know perennial losers sometimes get diminished in organizational character, fan unity, and universal appeal when they finally win, but come on; it's been long enough.
I was rooting for Kershaw and the Dodgers last night, will pull for the Mets in Game 5. I don't usually root for the Mets--and I rooted for the Sox against them in '86 because I was surrounded by Mets fans and disliked them even more than Boston at the time--but it all depends on how I like a particular Mets team. The ones in the mid-80s were great but easy to dislike. This year's team, for me at least, is very easy to like.
I'm pulling for the Cubs rest of the way though.
