Nice clobbering win for the Yanks yesterday. I was driving south down the West Side Highway in the rain when John Sterling tripped all over himself calling Alex Rodriguez’s long solo home run. It was hilariously cruddy. But you gotta love the results.
The weather is supposed to be horrible today—John and Suzyn were talking about it all afternoon. Let’s see if they get a game in tonight.
Meanwhile, the Yanks picked up Nick Swisher whose career was last seen headed due South and but fast. Let’s see if he can regain any of his old Mojo. [Insert Joke Here.]
Flurries here in Toledo, supposed to turn to rain this afternoon, which is a positive, as April showers beat April snow. Mud Hens scheduled for a make up double header, doubt they'll play at all. Might get tonight's game in.
So, I basically hate the cold. But my allergies have gone off the rack and once it gets over 55 i'm a mess. So I sort of love the cold now. But I still hate it. So confusing. But i'll be working tonight so a game to work too from my home desk would be nice.
The Blue Jays opened the season at the Rays, the two clubs with the indoor parks. Playing in St. Pete. allowed them to stay in their spring training homes rather than having to rent hotel space. Tampa gets one sellout a year and the Jays get twenty percent of the gate. Somebody has a friend in high places.
Game postponed. Mud Hens have been postponed three straight days. Miserable weather.
Frick. Was really looking forward to sitting in my chair and watching the game in my den tonight. : /
I guess the silver lining is extra rest for Tanaka, and not a cold weather start.
Hate watching games played in cold weather or rain. Terrible conditions usually mean lousy baseball. Wait until it gets warm. Looking forward to a series indoors later this week.
