Say Hey

50790001

It’s the Giants, and good gosh, Bumgarner’s pitching tonight.

Hotter than July in here in the city.

Never mind the heat wave:

Let’s Go Yank-ees!

Well...the Giants are my NL team. Have been for a long time. My wife is from Northern Cali and I loved touring in SF. I've been to PAC Bell park and it's beautiful. My dad was a Willie Mays fan growing up and I happen to like a goodly amount of their players.

Of course, they shit the the bed at the Fens and will now sweep us. As much as I dig them and expect them to win the WS this even year, I hope to sweep them!

2 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 6:42 pm

Whew.

3 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 6:43 pm

My dad was also a Giants fan.
Until they left.

4 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 6:54 pm

that's my boy, Beli!

5 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 6:54 pm

Say Carlos!!

I thought he had a homer on that loud foul, but I accept this rbi.

6 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 22, 2016 6:55 pm

2 out ribeye!

7 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 6:55 pm

[3] my dad's a yankees fan. and mantle fan. but, yeah, i think that's more of a product of his two sons and he dug the giants when he was a kid.

8 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 6:56 pm

I bet it's hot in ATL.
It's hot here. Well, not so much right now, but 90 today.

9 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 6:58 pm

yeah, it's definitely HOTlanta. but, if you go anywhere, you need layers 'coz every store and restaurant is like the tundra.

10 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 6:59 pm

Oooh, it's 92 in the Bronx, according to NOAA. And Bumgarner is working hard. Forty-seven pitches. Maybe we can wear him down.

11 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:00 pm

Wow.
Hey, did you know I do not have an air conditioner in my house?
I know! It's crazy!
However, I have eaten blueberries, so, we're even.

12 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:00 pm

E3.
Not fun to watch.

13 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:02 pm

Uh oh.

14 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:04 pm

BELI!

15 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:05 pm

wait. oh no. his fingers may have swiped the plate. damn.

16 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:05 pm

That was very gratifying.
Carlos is the star of the game, already.

17 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:05 pm

Oh, yeah. Hm. Hard to tell.

18 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:06 pm

[11] it's cranked waaaaay too high here. everywhere. it's quite uncomfortable actually.

19 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:06 pm

What's the rule? Is it like football, where to overturn you need 'clear and convincing' evidence or something like that?

20 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:06 pm

his fingers may have been in the air and dirt was just flying around. hopefully, there's not enough evidence to overturn.

21 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:07 pm

[19] yeah.

OUT!!

22 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:08 pm

Yay!

Man, what a break. And what a freaking throw, too.

23 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:09 pm

And Tanaka escapes!

24 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:10 pm

i love beltran.

gonna ask the tavern to put the game on for me in a bit. hope to see miller pitch a perfect 8th.

my two favorite (current) yankees!! : )

25 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:10 pm

will the boy still be in Atl at the end of the month? i'm playing a sunday evening gig not far from him. i'll be performing Rush's "Tom Sawyer" on it \m/

26 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:11 pm

welcome back, chase.

hope your son is doing well!!!

27 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:14 pm

Oh, no, he's in NOLA!
Going to a lot of jazz.

28 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:15 pm

that was a very mad-bum like inning.

don't let him off the hook next offensive frame!

29 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:15 pm

[27] oh, wow. cool.

30 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:17 pm

i played Tipatina's and the Jeff Fest in NOLA. (Jeff, not Jazz. not sure what it was exactly, but we opened for the Neville Brothers, so i guess it wasn't too small...)

31 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:18 pm

oh, crap.

looks like that's a play that should've been made...

32 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:20 pm

ref still doesn't have a homer...

33 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:20 pm

crazy mad-bum snake/rabbit story...

34 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:21 pm

Hey, I do get John n Suzyn via MLB at bat. But it can't find my location so no video for me.

35 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:21 pm

oh, come on. cano prolly woulda caught that.

it was hit hard, but still...

36 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:22 pm

rbj - it's on MLB network.

matt v, kitty, verducci.

37 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:24 pm

Wow, you played Tipitinas?
Jordan went there last week. I think last Saturday. I can't remember who was playing.

38 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:24 pm

ok. really need a DP...

39 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:25 pm

[37] i did.

40 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:25 pm

i used to tour quite a bit and played lotsa great places. best venue was probably Red Rocks in CO. sold out show on a saturday night. beautiful. there are even red rocks in the backstage area.

41 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:26 pm

Oy. Another jam. Tanaka is really pushing it -- partly fielding, but the walks are troubling.

42 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:26 pm

thank you, el nino.

good job, lettuce.

43 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:26 pm

Okay, that's one! Maybe he can get out of it again.

44 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:27 pm

And now it's pouring rain here -- I mean pouring. Looks like there might be some of the same in the Bronx later.

45 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:28 pm

if he gets out of it right here, he'll still have a good pitch count.

hey announcers - don't do that!

46 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:28 pm

we had bad rain yesterday. i was in the classroom the entire time...

47 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:29 pm

Ah, I hadn't set at Bat to access my location. Got the wpix feed

48 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:29 pm

Gulp.
3-1, bases loaded with two out...

49 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:30 pm

biggest pitch of the game right here...

50 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:30 pm

[47] nice.

51 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:30 pm

good pitch. now for another...

52 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:31 pm

Onions!

53 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:31 pm

Got 'I'm!
Beautiful.

54 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:32 pm

Phew

55 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:32 pm

FUCK YEAH!!!

don't think i've ever seen that kind of emotion from Masahiro. i dig it.

i aired it out here in my den too. i needed that...

56 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:32 pm

See, we just needed rbj on board. That did the trick.

57 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:32 pm

Yeah, that was cool, the 'Hiro fist pump!

58 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:38 pm

i wonder if rbj will be coming off the bench later...

59 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:39 pm

i hope ichiro reaches 3,000 hits this weekend.

* that'll be a career achievement, as he most likely won't amass 3,000 hits in one game. even if it's a doubleheader. especially, if he's a pinch hitter.

60 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:40 pm

starlin's been doing great afield.

ooh, posey's out of the game. georgia boy...

61 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:42 pm

Oh, no, of course not in one game. But you said this weekend, right? So, man, that really is a lot of hits for one weekend. It took Jeter almost his whole career!

62 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:42 pm

[61] awesome.

63 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:42 pm

Happy birthday Meredith

64 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:43 pm

Aw. Happy Birthday, Meredith.

65 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:44 pm

when ichiro suzuki gets 4 more hits, he will have accrued 3,000 for his career in MLB in the US.

66 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:45 pm

Hah. Siddown, Belt, you fraud.

67 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:45 pm

It is amazing. How many do you think he would have had if he'd started here at age 22? Could be 4000.

68 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:45 pm

nice pitch to strike out belt.

i don't have the pix feed. happy birthday, MM!!

69 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:46 pm

Oh good lord. Michael Kay: philosopher.

70 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:47 pm

Ah, you're listening to Kaat?
Michael told Meredith: May you live as long as you want, but never want as long as you live.

I thought you wouldn't want to miss that pearl.

71 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:48 pm

[66] i like belt. i'm wearing a silver double-pinned timberland one to hold up my cargo pants.

ichiro - all things being equal (similar career, no injuries, et al.), yes. 4,000 would definitely be a possibility.

nice first pitch hitting for starlin.

definitely not posey behind the plate!

let's go, beli!

72 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:49 pm

[70] oh, michael. thanks for sharing.

yes, kaat is on the broadcast.

73 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:50 pm

If Belt had drawn ball four, I was gonna say:
See, that's the difference -- their Belt walked, but our Belt-ran!

74 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:51 pm

Oooh, now I really want A-Rod to bunt!!!

Not.

75 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:51 pm

Holy smokes. That was fast, and profoundly ugly.

76 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:52 pm

another walk for mad-bum.

i guess i should let you know the mad-bum snake/rabbit story from the mlb broadcast...

he and his wife were in the AZ desert. i forget what they were doing. hiking, horseback riding, something... they encountered a rattlesnake. madbum had a hatchet with him, because, why wouldn't you. he took care of the rattler and realized it had just eaten. he rescued the jackrabbit and took it back to their cabin to nurse it back to health. then, he released it in the wild.

77 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:53 pm

alex, alex, alex. i thought you told hal and espn you had a plan to help with chasing pitches out of the strike zone.

quite poor execution. boos warranted. though, chase just matched you.

78 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:54 pm

Huh?
The rattlesnake had swallowed a jackrabbit whole and it was still alive?

Oh, Michael is telling the same story.

79 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:54 pm

madbum's 91mph seems way faster.

80 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:55 pm

[78] apparently. i guess the news has traveled!

or, are they reading the banter?

hey, michael: i have two solo percussion CDs for sale. if you buy both, i'll include a sticker and magnet!!

81 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:55 pm

Those six strikes in a row were pretty impressive.

82 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:56 pm

wasted opportunity.

madbum seem quite calm talking with the ump after.

83 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:56 pm

[81] they really were.

madbum has not recorded a single ground ball out through five frames.

84 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:57 pm

Hm, the Bum averaged 23.5 pitches per inning for the first two, but less than half that many for the next three.

85 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:59 pm

alright, we're headed out. i'll check in from my phone in a few...

86 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 7:59 pm

i really like brandon crawford. fine player. i hope he makes an out right now...

87 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:00 pm

Okay, have fun!

88 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:02 pm

Oooh, I wish thelarmis had seen that play by Carlos.

89 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:15 pm

Hey, I wasn't listening -- did they say why no Tanaka? Just because it's Big Three time?
I can't say I disagree with the decision, probably the right call.

90 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:16 pm

Or not. Goddam it, Dellin, find that strike zone.

91 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:16 pm

Don't like lead off walks

92 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:18 pm

That's more like it.

93 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:19 pm

Why did Paul say, "You just can't hold up on that fastball"? It was obviously a curve ball.

94 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:22 pm

Dammit.

95 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:22 pm

Ruh roh

96 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:22 pm

Just got the game on. Really wish tanaka pitched the 7th...

97 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:24 pm

Oh my god.
Argh!

98 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:24 pm

Shit

99 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:24 pm

Sure, now.
Well, okay. One run for Miller and Chapman, should be okay...

100 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:25 pm

Good.

Lame on the wild pitch. I like how they were respecting Beli's arm! What was the play he made?

Coulda been worse

102 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:26 pm

I don't want Miller and/or Chapman to give up a run.

103 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:27 pm

MadBum is still in?

104 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:28 pm

Insurance please

105 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:32 pm

[100] He caught a drive over his shoulder running toward the wall. Very nice play.

106 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:37 pm

Wow. Crawford never airmails a throw. Beli should steal 2nd. The non-posey catcher will throw it into centerfield!

107 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:38 pm

An rbj appearance!

108 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:38 pm

Cash me in

109 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:38 pm

Beli will not have the opportunity to steal second, since (a) he went to second on the bad throw, and (b) he is no longer in the game.

110 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:39 pm

I wonder if it would have helped for Alex to take off that blindfold for one of the ABs.

111 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:39 pm

Rats

112 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:52 pm

Not good.
He'll get out of this, though, I am confident.

113 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:53 pm

Tightrope

114 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:54 pm

Come on, blue

115 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:54 pm

Ugh! I thought he had him, but ball three...

116 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:55 pm

Ohhhh.
That was very deflating.

117 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:55 pm

Well, that's not good. Or the way I drew it up.

118 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 8:55 pm

Mofuckingdammit

119 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:00 pm

Should we get Miller the W now, or save the run(s) for Chapman because Andrew doesn't deserve the Win?

120 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:02 pm

That's a start.

121 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:02 pm

Speed kills!

122 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:05 pm

We're rolling.
But no bunt, please!

123 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:07 pm

Really, Austin?

124 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:08 pm

Jesus Fing Christ.

125 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:08 pm

Holy fucking WOW!!! Again for Crawford? I doesn't believes it!

126 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:08 pm

BRILLIANT STRATEGY BY GIRARDI!

127 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:10 pm

"We'll just have him bunt a couple foul, that will make Crawford choke on a DP attempt."

He's a genius. I don't know why I question him.

128 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:14 pm

Wow, Crawford with the oopsies tonight

129 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:16 pm

Shit sox lost!!!

130 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:17 pm

[129] Yeah, to the Twinks.
Can't predict baseball.

131 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:22 pm

Oh, come on. COME ON.

132 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:22 pm

Jesus. Brett.

133 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:23 pm

I accept that out. Without advancing the runner.

134 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:25 pm

Nice. Nice.

135 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:27 pm

Oh shit

136 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:27 pm

Good lord, his slider is 94mph.

137 RIYank   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:29 pm

YES!
Busted!

Whew. Nothing's easy! But I accept that Win.

138 Ara Just Fair   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:29 pm

Nice. Cheers, y'all!

139 rbj   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:31 pm

Ah At Bat is a bit late. Night all

140 thelarmis   ~  Jul 22, 2016 9:33 pm

Wahoo!!!

141 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 3:19 pm

----------

(That dotted line separates Friday from Saturday)

Any banterers watching this one? It's shaping up to be an excruciating game. I do not recommend it.

142 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 3:25 pm

Well, our outfield saved Ivan's butt.
I just noticed that the first for Giant batters have names that are also regular words of English.

143 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 3:44 pm

Outfield, and now Didi too. Perfect relay to cut down a runner at the plate trying to score from first on a double.

144 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 4:06 pm

Ivan got himself out of a mess he made in the third, with a K and a GIDP.
Walking the tightrope, though.

145 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 4:15 pm

Another error on Crawford!
Although, tough call on that -- could easily have given Brett a hit instead. And, as Michael says, his hair looks great.
(Crawford, not Gardner!)

146 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 4:29 pm

Ivan looks a little better in the fourth, a 1-2-3.
Also, he's thrown 60 pitches through four innings; Cueto has thrown 70 through three innings.

And, the official scorer changed Crawford's error to a Gardner hit.

147 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 4:34 pm

I'll be.
Didi scores the game's first run on a single + E9, yet another unearned run.
Tough stretch to be a Giants' fan.

148 rbj   ~  Jul 23, 2016 4:38 pm

RIYank doing yoeman's work. Finally got to Lake Gaston.had trouble connecting to the network. Now get to do my back exercises.

149 rbj   ~  Jul 23, 2016 4:43 pm

Boo!

150 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 4:49 pm

Defense can't help Nova keep a Williamson homer off the scoreboard.
1-1 going into the bottom of the fifth. I'm hoping this will be Cueto's last inning.

151 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 4:51 pm

Oh, hi there!
Lake Gaston on the border of Virginia and NC? That's a long way from Toledo.

152 rbj   ~  Jul 23, 2016 4:58 pm

620 miles to Newport News, then 90 more to the lake house. Next weekend I get to reverse it.

153 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 5:06 pm

Yeah, that's a long drive.

It looks like the shadows are making things impossible for the batters.
I don't really mean "looks like", because I'm not watching. I have John and Suzyn on now, doing a few things outside since the temp here has got bearable.

154 rbj   ~  Jul 23, 2016 5:07 pm

I usually breakup the outbound Toledo to NN into two days because I'm getting older. The return trip I do I one dat because of the incentive of getting my hounds back.

155 rbj   ~  Jul 23, 2016 5:08 pm

92 here. Heat advisory for tomorrow

156 rbj   ~  Jul 23, 2016 5:24 pm

Have to check on how supper is progressing

157 rbj   ~  Jul 23, 2016 5:51 pm

Delicious as it turned out. Home made spaghetti and broccoli with French baguette

158 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:00 pm

Nice.
I had grilled shrimp, pesto, green beans, fettuccine. But the fettuccine was not home made.

The shells were store bought, but as mom is north of 80, acceptable.

160 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:07 pm

Aroldis is taking a little off the fastball, huh? Sounds ridiculous, but he's throwing 99. Maybe because he knows he might be called upon to go another inning...

161 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:20 pm

Maybe he'd better heat it up now...

162 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:30 pm

Yep. That worked better.

Okay, how about a run?

163 rbj   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:31 pm

Walk off coming up

164 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:35 pm

I mean, I guess it's gonna be a bunt. A Gardner bunt.

165 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:36 pm

Unless Hicks can steal?

166 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:37 pm

If it gets to 2-0 count, I would take the bunt off...

And it does. Interesting. Does Joe know to do this?

Ah, better yet! Very nice.

So now he will surely bunt. Although maybe they'll just walk him.

167 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:39 pm

Let's see, if they walk him, maybe you just have Brett swipe second? That sounds right. They couldn't throw. Then maybe that forces them to walk Ells and pitch to Carlos with the bases loaded??

168 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:39 pm

Wait, I got confused. Yeah, this is a smart call, replacing Osich. Damn.

I don't know what the right move is here. I'm going to look some things up.

169 rbj   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:41 pm

Double steal?

170 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:42 pm

Okay, here's the deal. A successful sacrifice doesn't change the Win Expectancy at all. (It's right around 85% now.)
With the Giants playing way in, probably it's better to let Jacoby swing, because there's more of a chance that Ells botches the bunt than that the Giants do.

And this is the correct situation for the closer, too, so good move by the Giants.

171 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:43 pm

Well that was weird. They faked the rotation play? Odd.

172 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:44 pm

Successful bunt.
Well, they'll walk Carlos now. But that's okay.
Geez, a McCann GIDP is what worries you, though. Would it make any sense to PH for him??

173 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:45 pm

Heh, so if McCann hits a routine fly ball, he'll get credit for a double.
Let's see if he can do it.

174 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:46 pm

Oh fug. Dammit.

175 rbj   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:46 pm

Oy, Brian

176 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:49 pm

Oy.
I don't know how much more of this game I can stand. It's been a painful one.

177 rbj   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:49 pm

Dammit

178 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:56 pm

Wow.
Pagan AB, Betances looked like he couldn't find the zone. Belt AB, it looked like he could put the ball wherever he wanted.

179 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:59 pm

Gulp.
A little-thought-of risk of an IBB! Dodged a bullet there.

180 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 6:59 pm

What the hell are they doing?

181 rbj   ~  Jul 23, 2016 7:00 pm

Phew!

182 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 7:00 pm

Well, it worked out.

183 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 7:13 pm

Sigh.
Well, top of the order for the, uh, twelfth.

184 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 7:17 pm

See [141]

185 rbj   ~  Jul 23, 2016 7:19 pm

Oh crap, I come back to this?

186 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 7:32 pm

If Brett had got on base I would have felt hopeful.

187 rbj   ~  Jul 23, 2016 7:35 pm

And my agony is over

188 RIYank   ~  Jul 23, 2016 7:35 pm

And that's the ballgame.

I'm glad the other banterers were spared this eyesore. And rbj, at least you're on vacation.

189 thelarmis   ~  Jul 24, 2016 12:40 am

I love fettuccine! : )

Clueless Joe in the 9th, runners on first and second, Ellsbury up and Beltran on deck. WTF is with a bunt? of course they walk Beltran, the best hitter on the team, to load the bases so the Yankees can pop two fly balls barely out of the infield and fail. Five of us watching thought the bunt was a stupid play, when he turned to bunt and let the first one go against a drawn in infield. It's bad enough they can't hit, it's worse when the manager makes stupid moves.
