The good news: Gary Shanchez hit two home runs last night—the second one was a real blast and came just as the rain did.
There was a rain delay and when the game resumed came the bad news as a 6-0 Yankee lead was wiped out by a swift, merciless comeback from the Jays who scored 8 in the 8th and won, 12-6.
Growing Pains indeed.
More rain today? We shall see. Yanks and Jays play a matinee.
Never mind the slickers:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!

Well, I guess we shouldn't be surprised that the bullpen might fail us. It's held up better than I expected post-Miller/Chapman up to this point. Still, I think the offensive improvements that produce a more consistent overall lineup outweigh the costs thus year (in short term thinking). And obviously, long term, these youngsters are going to be a boon for this team. We hope.
1 pm start today. Won't be able to watch
sanchez homered...again!
cc throwing pretty well. 7 k, 1 bb. we're still losing though...
good play by the keystone kops. melvin ever the gentleman. he was concerned and checking on didi to make sure he was ok. i like that.
there was a dust up in the dugout between donaldson and tulo before.
castro just hit his 15th homer. 3-2 (still losing)
yeesh I hope Didi is ok.
omg headley what are you doing?
ugh, headley.
[6] he's fine. nothing too crazy. i was thinking groin, but no worries.
and there it is. shocking.
i had checked in last night when we were up 5-0. i figured we were gonna lose. feh.
Our pitching has been so disappointing this year.
Apparently this was a game to miss.
CC had 12 Ks and only 1 BB. Of course there's the matter of 7 runs...
So now we finally got offense and the pitching turns to shite.
Never fails. [groan]
