Moving on Up

IMG_7846

The Yanks won another game yesterday. Our boys are playing well enough to encourage the dreamiest of us to imagine them making a serious run at the second wild card. I don’t see it happening, but far as I can tell, they are playing with house money as nothing is expected of them. This makes it all the more enjoyable for us…Don’t it?

Agreed. That's exactly how I felt as a kid in the late 60's: no real expectations, just taking pleasure in the individual games. Hoping for, but not expecting better.

Agreed, Alex. I love how this season has turned out. I haven't been this excited since Joba, Hughes, and Ian Kennedy. Although they flamed out, I feel this time is different because it's not pitchers.

If you look at the Cubs philosophy (get as many talented position players as possible) and compare that with the Mets (get pitching), I think the Cubs (so far) have the right approach. I feel the Yankees are adopting that same philosophy, and I wholeheartedly agree.

Pitching is stressful on the human body, so the chances of something going wrong is very real. I am glad that we have good pitching talent, too, but it's not our only asset in the minors.

Very good season so far. I am happy as F*CK!!!

Now, if only Tex would retire on any one of these Saturday's too. For the last couple of weeks, every Saturday night I go to sleep hoping to wake up to the Yankees and Tex announcing a joint press conference for that Sunday morning.

You are NOT on the Mark, Teixera!

Yeah. More excited about next year. I like A-Rod, but it was time to cut him. And glad Mark's retiring. Let the kids play!

Filthy Sanchez hits another dinger too and 2 intentional walks? The walk with the bases empty was a little ridiculous and struck me as poor sportsmanship by the M's. Sanchex in 18 games has more homers than Ellsbury.

Tanaka pitched a great game too. I am still a bit concerned about his arm and their conservative approach. I thought when they waved the white flag this year, that they would have had Tanaka have a very delayed surgery. I guess it is good that he didn't as we might get a wild card shot afterall.

I think the youth movement was long overdue and it helps to light a fire under the vets too. Notice that Tex got an RBI hit after they walked Sanchez in front of him.

This is now an exciting team to watch.

On another note they keep referring to these guys as the new core 4.

I never liked that they called Jeter, Posada, Mo and Pettite the core 4. Let's give Bernie some damn love!

Didn't realize that they walked Sanchez to load the bases with nobody out. Not poor sportsmanship but a rare occurrence.
