Yanks and Sox for the first time this year. Three games in Boston and then they don’t see each other again until the second week of June in the Bronx (and they don’t play again after that until July 14th).
Should be fun.
Never mind the All-Stars:
Let’s Go Yank-ees!
Marlins rained out too. I guess I'll have to start following them too, if the deal goes through
Let's try this again
Crap, need to reset my router
Last time sox did not have he who shall not be named was 2002. Holy shit! And there's Headley. Oi!
E6!
Oopsie!
There goes The Judge! Hot damn!
Judge celebrating birthday
That's a catch, blue
Sit the fuck down. He's out.
Bird looks like bird shit.
Phew
I miss another tater from the Judge?
How's Severino looking? the Sox radio guys only are talking about My Little Pony and Machado still...
[13] opposite field, into the pen. So nothing special. Sevvy had a hiccup in the fourth but was able to get out. Much better than last year
Sigh
[14] Nice. If Sanchez comes back healthy and hitting then the lineup is really going to look scary..
Official game
Boo. Give Judge pitches to hammer
A hit for Bird! With an RBI.
I just realized after watching YES that the game is on e$&$ also. That doesn't happen much. If ever.
Atta kid, Luis!
Man, Severino is looking reaaaalllllly good.
That four letter network let Jason Stark go and is reducing Karl Ravech's on air time. MLBN.
[20] Ugh, I can't watch YES. MLB.tv is blacked out because of the Firing All Employees network.
God, they are brutal. I am so freaking glad I can get YES for almost every game.
Oh, geez, I wonder if I can watch this on NESN... gonna check.
I can! Much better!
Yay Headley. Booming double.
I'm surprised Porcello is allowed to go this long. I guess this is his last batter...
And he walks Holliday. Huh.
[23] Really?? Always liked his stuff..can't imagine ever watching any of their tv programs anyways. Once tuned in to Colon Cowherd, lasted about 5mins before shutting off.
Yep, bringing in your Specialist to walk a lefty. We used to do that all the time.
[28] Yep.
They're bleeding money. They have to cut everybody who isn't profitable.
The network pretty much sucks already; you can imagine how awful it's going to be once this bloodbath is over.
Hah, I forgot that Wordpress thinks the word "Spe-shul-ist" is advertising a men's health product if you spell it correctly. I was trying to make fun of the Sox' lefty speshulist, but it wouldn't post.
[28] they've gone downhill, basically turning the NBA into a soap opera. Hope Jason move to MLBN
Hey, anyone here ever been to Dodger Stadium? I got tix for a Sunday afternoon game in August against the Padres, near the right field fair pole.
Man it's foggy
Nope, not me. Sounds like fun! Will you be in LA for a while?
[34] Yes, and with no car I'm expecting transport difficulty...
Good job by Starlin so far, fouling off those 100 mph pitches.
Only time I've been to California was a connecting flight at LAX.
Curses. That would have been a back-breaker, any kind of hit, even a walk.
Oh well, good try by Starlin.
Wow, he's really got the change-up under control. He looks so good!
Also the slider! Wow. I'm really impressed.
Clippard? Not Betances warming up? It is a save situation
[41] I'm not aboard the Clippard yacht any longer..
Hot damn
Whew, that was cool. Dang.
This is a fun season. Even Torreyes is contributing to the fun.
I heart Luis. What a start. Stay healthy, young man. Ronald's glove is bigger than him!
Maybe Clippard would have come in if Joe had to yank Severino in the seventh? Otherwise I don't see why it wouldn't be a no-brainer to go to Betances.
Impeached.
I do not like Joe Kelly. Not sure why.
Hm. Well, 22 pitches by Kelly, so that's something. The Sox don't have a deep bullpen. Oh, but this is only a two game series now so it doesn't really matter. So never mind.
Dellin, Dellin, the strikeout machine!
Foggy plus a too rested Chapman. Hmm
Grrrr. I hate that.
Location, Aroldis.
Sub-optimal.
The 3 B outfield scares me..
Hmm.
Run roh
Losing this game would be a gigantic fucking kick in the nuts.
Okay, that's one.
Hanley can turn on a big fastball...
In principle. But he's not gonna do it.
Said it before but..MLB hitters are ridiculous, making solid contact on 100mph fastballs is insane.
Jeebus farkking Chrystal.
Ugh, not good. The walks. The double I can accept, but not the walks.
JBJ scares me a little, after that not worried.
Ohferfuck's sake!
JBJ better not go yard here....
Yay!
Okay. One more. And weak batters ahead.
Two down!
Uh. IGNORE THE BASERUNNER YOU DOPE.
Come on, Aroldis, just do what you do, Rutledge is not a hitter.
Don't be a hero, meat.
Why is concerned with the runner, just get this guy AB!
Heart rate rising.
NESN guys are calling the off-speed pitch a slider. Is it? Or is it a change?
Chapman is going to throw this game away.
Whew!
Oh, man.
Yipes!
Foul, phew
30 pitches...yikes
Yay! Ballgame over, Yankees WIN!
Thank you Aroldis Wetteland!
Strikeout, yes, can breathe no
Whew! A Win's A Win, good job, Bombers!
Night all
Holy Christ! Thank Mo.
NESN extremely impressed with His Honor.
Celtics are spitting the bit against a non-playoff-worthy Bulls team, in Boston. There will be much gnashing of teeth tomorrow.
Hey, did you guys know who has the best run differential in MLB?
Hint: they wear pinstripes.
Nice game. I gotta start waking up ealier. The weather has been way better in Tokyo, though.
[32] I've been there, but I was only 10 (Nixon adm.). Great memory though. Dodgers vs. Reds. My cool cousin got us tix (He can now get me tix to any Yankee game. Problem is getting to NYC.)
Anyway, Jazz, I have heard the crowds are pretty rough at Chavez these days. Like the old Bronx Bomber Yard. A lot of chest-puffing Neanderthals high on Ethyl. Stay cool and root for the home team.
